    Soil in a Bag delievery

I recently called and wanted to order a bag of soil, asked if they deliever to Acton and they said yes within 7 days. On day 7 there was still no soil. I called that day and was told that "weedaway did not give themselves enough time" but I would get it in a few days. Ok I get you can be busy this time of year. So I waited .... 3 days passed still no soil called that day and was told that it would be delivered by end of day and it was on the truck .. Perfect .. happy customer ... UNTIL I got home and again STILL NO SOIL. I had to call again at 6pm and was told Management had left for the day but to call in the morning, if it didnt come by 8pm. When I called the next morning I was told I would be called back in a few mins they were just looking into why my soil had not come and when it should be. I get a call from then an hour or so later telling me that " I will not be getting my soil at all since it is not worth it to them to drive one bag of soil to Acton and that management was hoping more people would have order. Then I get a stupid flyer in the mail the same night !! WTF PEOPLE. SO I waited 10 days for soil I was most likely never going to get so lets hope my CC was credited the amount. WORST COMPANY EVER!!!! I also told them they are unethical an bad news travels a lot faster then good and im going to make sure of it !!!

    Answer from pro:

This client has a very good point, since then we have changed our advertising to reflect delivery areas and this problem will not happen again. From all of us at Weed-A-Way, we apologize for this and can assure you that this will not happen again. Kevin Mahoney.

    Black garden soil

When i talked to the MANAGER regarding my order , he was making fun of me and my English, ( I was studied in U.K more than 10 years and i am a accountant as well)when i asked him about this matter,he started with F-- word and hung up the phone( from my name he knew i came from other country) In my life time i never seen this kind unprofessional manner in the business, NOTE: there is no customer complain option or telephone No, MY OPINION IS : DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY OR THERE PRODUCTS

    Answer from pro:

We would under no circumstances use profanity towards anyone, let alone a customer. Our staff is well trained and does not make fun of our customers. I am sorry you are unhappy with our company, but all phone calls are recorded and your statement is untrue.

    seasonal lawn care

I cancelled my service in the fall for the next year, which I confirmed more than once with their office. Their policy is to continue with service unless you cancel. Yesterday, I received a phone call from "George" telling me that Weed-a-way was coming to aerate my lawn the next day. I told him I had cancelled the contract and not to come. George said it was not cancelled and asked for confirmation number! I again told him not to come and that I would not pay for any service performed. I called the Weed-a-way office the next day and Gabrielle confirmed that I had cancelled the service. Then Kevin came on the phone. I assume Kevin is the manager. Kevin told me he had cancelled the service after George's phone call. Kevin was very RUDE and hung up on me when I asked how the cancellation was not noted on their computer system. I would not use this service; they would have performed a service I did not want and expected me to pay for it. I have checked Better Business Bureau and this Weed-a-way has many complaints filed against them. BEWARE! October 2012. I thought I would follow up on my review from 2010. This company continues to send me statements to prepay for services for the forthcoming year even though I cancelled the service after using them in 2009 (and yes, did eventually receive a cancellation number albeit it was not stated on the invoice that I needed to receive one). This company located on Danbro Cres. just will not leave me alone. Save the paper and the postage and stop sending out unnecessary mailings! I will not use your services again. P.S. And yes, I am a former customer and have copies of my invoices for 2009. Please do not try to discredit my review by claiming that I was not a former customer and asking for proof.

    Answer from pro:

Not knowing who the complaint is coming from, it is difficult to comment on, but there are always two sides to every story, I am sorry this customer feels this way.

    Lawn spraying

I had a contract for 2 years for seasonal spraying of the lawn, 2006-07. Paid upfront before the season. I moved last November. They spent invoices and called me. I informed them I had moved and no longer wanted the service. They went ahead and sprayrd and billed me $100. And sent it to collections. I called Carol Mahoney, the owner, I believe. She wouldn't talk to me, the receptionist (probably Carol) saying you owe us, sorry. Unbelievable scam artists.

    Answer from pro:

We do not know who this client is, and this makes it verry difficult to respond to this review. We would not go back and service a customer if they did not order this service, it doesn't matter if a customer pre pays or pays as the program goes on. Unfortunately if a service was ordered prior to your move, and we are not informed, that service will still be rendered. Therefore, we still expect to paid for the work done. I'm sorry you are unhappy, our customers are extremely important to us.

    herbicide spraying of front lawn

I got solicited by weed-a-way (summer 2005?)for herbicide spraying our lawn. I decided to try it as my front lawn was getting too many weeds. They gave me a date that was 2 weeks away and was told that if I wanted to cancel the treatment, I could do so with a phone call. After some research I decided not to use them for spraying (I pulled out the weeds by hand) and canceled the service. The person on the phone was extremely aggressive in trying not to change my mind. I told him that I was looking for "greener" solutions. He told me that the cheap stuff at Canadian tire won't work and that I was just being cheap and making excuses. He told me that I was making the wrong decision. I stuck to my decision and asked him again to cancel the order. I also asked him to get me off his solicitation list. I asked for a confirmation #, he told me that since there wasn't any contract signed, I didn't need a confirmation number, that he had canceled it. A few days later I saw a Weed-a-way truck pull up. He was unrolling his pipes and had just started spraying when I asked him not to spray and that the order was canceled. The guy was very polite and left. He also mentioned that he will talk the guys at the office to see why he was not told of the change. I figured it was a miscommunication. A few days later I was sent an invoice from weed-a-way. I called them up and they insisted that I had not canceled the service and that I should be paying them for the service. I refused to do so. I even spoke to his manager, who told me that I was trying to get a freebie. The story gets worse. They sent a collection agency, and after a few phone calls, I paid up under duress (less interest). Later on I found out that I was not the only victim of this type of behavior. Weed-a-way has sprayed peoples front lawns and send them invoices even without contracts. Most of them have paid up as it is only a $75-150 payment. I live in a very affluent neighborhood of Mississauga and most people wouldn't bother for a few $. I would caution anyone that wants to use their service. I hope this helps others.

    Answer from pro:

I'm sorry that you were unhappy with the service you received, but we do in fact give cancellation tracking numbers to all customers who cancel a service. This helps us stay organized and prevents us from servicing a lawn without the request of the owner. The service was actually completed prior to your cancellation, so unfortunately we still expect to be paid for the work rendered prior to your cancellation.
