Larry at Alberta Hardwood was very pleasant to work with and the installers did a fantastic job. The finished product took a little longer than anticipated, but we are thrilled with how the Harwood looks. Brent and Tessa

*Edit* Jordan came out to our house to fix the last part of the stairs September 6. He was very pleasant and did a great job finishing the job. Bottom line is that this job took from April 15 to September 6 to complete. Two weeks was the quoted timeline. Background: Our house was vacant when the work was supposed to have been completed. There were no issues regarding access to the property during certain hours or days (except when the painters were spraying lacquer - but the job was supposed to be finished by then anyway) Long version: I will begin this review by saying that Lakeview EVENTUALLY finished the job as agreed, with small defects they ignored, or did not address at all. I have run out of time and energy to get anything else done, and think it would be diffucult to have anyone else show up at our house. In order for the job to get done I had to spend lots of my time calling and following up with the office to see if anyone would ever actually show up. Lakeview is not well organised and the only time they phoned me (without me phoning them first) was when after my husband's credit card was compromised and they couldn't put a charge through. Brad came to our house to quote in March 2013 and the job started on April 15. Brad quoted two weeks to finish the job. In order to accommodate the flooring installation I booked the painter two weeks later starting on April 29. The job was nowhere near completed by the 29 of April but the painters started and I assumed (incorrectly) that Lakeview would quickly finish once the painters had finished spraying. I guess there were delays getting material or they had staffing issues, I don't know because they never called me to let me know what was going on. They had finished most of the install of the stairs and floors by May 18 when they charged me for the balance with a 10% holdback. Again I assumed that since it had been over a month since the job was supposed to be finished they would send someone out to finish up the job in a timely manner. Fast forward to end of JULY 2013 and the stairs were not yet finished and the guy they sent did not finish them either, just went on an on about the work I wanted completed wasn't worth doing. Finally on August 2 Jordan came out to finish the job Rick was supposed to do(Rick came out twice). Then without a call to confirm if indeed we were happy with what had been done and a promise by Jordan to follow up on a couple things on the stairs they charged our credit card for the 10% holdback. I phoned the office (August 5) to follow up about what Jordan had said and Allie said that she would get back to me. Am I surprised no one has phoned me back yet(August 9)? Nope. Their sign and lock box is still on my porch. It will likely get thrown away as I am done following up. Funny how they are very quick to take your money but there is literally NO effort to contact you for anything else. I spent HOURS calling the office trying to get this job completed. If you do not have hours and hours to dedicate to making sure someone will come out to finish a job that you have already paid for, do NOT hire Lakeview floors. This made me feel like I was being the bad guy insisting that they finish the job I paid them to do. Overall in bullet points: Punctual: Not really. Timeliness: Forget it, not at all. Quoted 2 weeks, actual 4.5 months. Quality: OK overall, but if you want a detail-oriented company, this is not it. Follow up: Non-existent Other: Everyone I dealt with (Allie, Brad, Jordan, Josh) was pleasant. They answered the phone when I called or did return my call and expressed that having the job done was important but it somehow seemed out of their control as to when it would be completed. This was the aspect that I found frustrating. Would recommend: No Want to ask me more questions about my experience? Our project consisted of an addition and renovation to our 20 yr old home. We had seen Lakeview Floors at home shows and were always impressed by our initial conversations, as it turned out our contractor referred us to Lakeview. We initially dealt with Brad and Chelsie, who were quick and efficient in quoting our project. Allie was excellent in helping us pick product and at no time did we feel rushed or like we were being a bother. Lakevew did the tear out of existing hardwood as well as tiling in the kitchen and bathrooms. Lakeview refinished and added to exising hardwood, installed new hardwood, added to exising tile, installed new tile and backsplash and installed carpet to 4 bedrooms and a bonus room. As well they tore out an existing tub and replaced it with a shower and rebuilt our ensuite shower. Lakeview customized the stain colour of the refnished hardwood to match the new hardwood. Our installers Jordan and Donny were excellent to deal with, very clean and tidy and did exceptional work. We left them to work in our home while we were away on holidays, Jordan kept us up to date via email. Once the job was started they worked consistently until it was completed. We would definitely use them again and confidently refer them to our friends and family.

Our entire house had hardwood, stone and tile -- except the living room and a 'sun' room. My wife wanted to have the living room in hardwood and we'd had several quotes from different vendors. We were not satisfied with their estimates or their service proposals (and their base calculations of the area -- which included unacceptably generous provisions for 'wastage'). The backing-and-forthing in emails and phone calls was taking a toll on our enthusiasm. Enter Lakeview floors! We met with their Marketing manager at the home show in the Roundup Centre in February. Her low-key charm, professionalism, respect for the customer's mindspace and an absence of the 'hard sell', and a firm assurance on a reasonable price which she quoted right away was the first green signal we'd had in weeks. A phone call on selecting the right colour and hardwood was the next step. A simple process of an advance payment, clear documentation on the Agreement, early understanding of the schedule took barely 3 days. One drawback was the telephone tag which was understandable given the amount of business that must have come up following the home show. The young hardwood technicians who came over were fantastic in their politeness, their work ethic, their craftsmanship and the respect which they showed the family. They started on time and completed their work earlier than promised. Any clarifications we needed were dealt with by the office with promptness and professionalism. I would happily recommend Lakeview floors to all our friends!

Lakeview Floors saved the day! Our dog ate the carpet in our spare bedroom and we needed it fixed ASAP. Lakeview Floors was quick to come out and give us an estimate and then have one of their very efficient installers patch the carpet. It looks amazing and you'd never know we had such a bad dog. We would highly recommend Lakeview Floors as they are very professional, knowledgable and do an outstanding job.

Excellent support throughout the entire process. Helpful design consultation, installation advice and fair pricing. Product suggestions worked well and resulted in an improvement in the overall satisfaction of our project.

Project involved about 800 sq ft of site finished hardwood on main floor and second storey including two flights of stairs. Results are stunning. The installer was great with details around stairs and door thresholds and the finishers did a fabulous job of matching existing hardwood. The crew followed up on small unfinished elements and were generally a good bunch of guys to have around.

Matt Thompson was very responsive to my request to visit the site and was able to quickly assess how to repair and improperly installed new floor. He was able to complete the job quickly and without creating a larger project (ie baseboard replacement, interior door replacements) and with minimal clean up. We should have called Lakeview Floors initially but I had to dig deep to find Matt's phone # from 2009, when he helped us at a different location.

Worked mainly with Mat, who coordinated our whole project of hardwood refinishing and tiling. From start to end, Mat and his whole team were a pleasure to work with. Their communication, whole attitude, and skill were incredible. We had a very tight time line and other renos going on as well. Mat and his team were very accommodating and truly did a wonderful job. We love our new hardwood and tiling, and would 100% recommend them to our family and friends. I always do a lot of research in every decision that I make, and Lakeview Floors is a definite 10.

Lakeview Floors did a fantastic job refinishing our hardwood floors. We updated the stain tone for a more modern look, took their recommendation for a lower-gloss finish (lower maintenance), and feather-patched the floor where a wall was knocked out. True to their word, you wouldn't be able to tell that the floor wasn't always like that! Overall, a friendly,courteous and helpful staff all around - we're very pleased!
