Before I had them work for me I thought that Meerkat Roofing was just another roofing company. Wrong! Don't forget about the great exterior work they can do. They were one of the few companies willing to come and give a quote for a small siding repair and installation of siding on my chimney. A lot of companies didn't want to bother with a smaller job and wouldn't even come to give me a quote. Some companies came and gave me a quote for replacing the entire west side of my home when a simple repair job was required. That is not the case with Meerkat. The wait period from the quote until the finished project was about 3 weeks which I consider very reasonable. Everyone showed up on time. They completed the job in a day (extremely fast) and my home has never looked better. It's 4 months since I had the work done and it still looks fantastic!

What a beautiful day to comment on Meerkat Roofing and Exteriors! My husband and I had our Roof and siding done, last November/December. We cannot say enough about the wonderful team they are, and are so great with the work that they do! When we come around the corner and see our beautiful house, it is still hard to believe that it is actually ours!! We love the colors we chose, and the siding almost changes color in the sunlight! We have had many people tell us how wonderful it looks. We always tell them in a heartbeat about Meerkat!! They work so incredibly hard, and clean up is awesome, and everyone is so very friendly and easy to get along with. The workers who did our siding, even stayed late in the evening to finish up what they were doing. We told one guy (sorry can't remember the names) to come back the next day to pick up the trailer in our drive way, but, he came back at 9:00 p.m. to pick it up, even though he was extremely tired from a hard day at work!! That is superior service!!! In the future, when we have anything to be done, you can bet we will for sure be in contact with this amazing team!!! Look them up and see pictures of some of their workmanship, and we are sure you will agree! It will be such a pleasure when summer comes and we are working in the yard/garden to enjoy our "New" home, and we look like the New House on the Block!! Love it!! Meerkat Roofing did an awesome job on our house! It was done so fast and the crew was so friendly! I would definitely recommend Meerkat to anyone looking to do any exterior work on their home.

Meerkat just completed our reroof, and it looks wonderful! The quote we received was accurate and very reasonable for the OC Duration shingle. Communication was a HUGE plus for me because I work up at site and email is by far the most reliable. Meerkat made it very easy for me to get a hold of whoever I had questions for. They completed the job in a timely manner, and the bin for the old shingles was removed asap. They even returned one windy evening to ensure nothing could blow off onto our's or our neighbour's yard. Yay! we no longer have the most hideous roof on the street - rather, an updated, attractive, investment for our home! Huge thanks to Dean, Adrianne, and the crew who did the job!

18 months ago we were victim of the hail storm that hit Airdrie so hard. We asked our insurance company if Meerkat roofing could do the work as not only are they a preferred contractor for TD Insurance, they were also the company that we had previously used 2 years prior to replace our roof On both occasions we found each and every contact person starting with Dean Clarke through the office personal we worked with to the men and women who came out to do the labour on our roof and soft metals all to be professional and courteous to deal with Any questions we had were handled speedily and in a fashion that would easily make my decision to have Meerkat as my first choice in the future and recommend (as I have done already on several occasions for others to use) Terry and Maureen Haggarty Airdrie

I had my siding done by the subcontractor Adam from Meerkat, he was extremely professional and polite. He answered all my questions and when I asked for additional work he referred me to the meerkat office staff who were able to provide me with additional quotes on the spot. Just from the this contractor alone this company would get my recommendation. Thanks Meerkat!!

Had Meerkat Roofing install a new roof in September. The installers were experienced and did not rush through the installation. They also made every effort to clean up after every day. Very good work done.

The weather was very cold and the workers tried very hard to complete the roofing on the house and on the garage in the shortest time possible plus doing a great job.

Had the roof installed in 2008. Got quotes from several contractors who were all in the ballpark but decided to go with Meerkat. Original quote was for $5000. Removed the roof and then came to us and told us that their original estimate was not correct and that the cost of the roof would be $20,000 due to the slope of our roof (remember we no longer have a roof). I was ticked needless to say and had informed them that the slope of the roof was as it was the day they came to do the estimate. Butted heads for an entire day with no resolve. It came to a point were we told the roofers to put the old roof back on the house and we would get another roofing company to come and install the roof who said that they could do it for about $5000. Meerkat agreed to reinstalling the old roof. I called the other company who were originally bidding on the job. They were so baffled to hear that Meerkat wanted to do the torch on application due to the slope of our roof that they volunteered to call Meerkat themselves to discuss our roof and why we didn't need the torch on application. The next morning when Meerkat was supposed to come and reinstall our old roof, I got a call from the supervisor from Meerkat who told me that he was so upset about what happened the day before and was up all night considering what other method of roof application would be appropriate that would fall in line with the original estimate. He told me that he came up with a solution but that it would cost me an additional thousand dollars. Obviously considering the circumstances, we hesitantly agreed to proceed. The roof was completed but it is definitely not pretty. It looks like a patchwork of shingles and some flat material. Very awkward as we have been told by our neighbours. However we thought if this is what we were advised would work this is what we need. Well, by the time we realized that we had leaks it was too late, the warranty was over. We have issues with leaks from the stacks and perhaps from the air vents too. Never have had a good night sleep during the rain knowing things weren't done right. Needless to say, I would not recommend, or should I say I will tell everyone about our experience so that no one ever goes through what we have gone through for the past 5 years. New roofers who have great ratings will be coming to do an evaluation today and hopefully they can identify the source of the leak. Just hoping they won't tell us that we need a new roof because that would be the icing on the cake with respect to our dealings/experience with Meerkat. Always wanted to warn others but now I found a source for reviews where everyone could inform themselves regarding our experience and make a more informed decision. I know its 5 years later but I am still bitter as we are still dealing with the roof that was supposed to be done right the first time. The warranty may be over but our frustrations are never-ending. I just hope it doesn't have to come down to getting a new roof to allow us to sleep comfortable during the rain.

I have read a few of the other reviews on the Homestars site for Meerkat roofing and I may have an answer as to why there is such a wide discrepancy in ratings. Our insurance company recommended this contractor to replace our roof after hail damage. The group of young men who did the initial half fast job on our roof was young crass and loud, they left a little bit of a mess and destroyed a few plants. Our major concern was the quality of work. The team was sent back to fix the job but it still was not to our satisfaction. The second team of roofers was then sent to the house and they were older, more respectful and neater than the first team. The company has a split personality and service seems to be determined by which group of roofers they send. A bit of a crap shoot. Frustrating to have to ask them back multiple times, the roof still does not look quite right.
