    house cleaning

Desperate housemaids is a joke. Stay away. We bought a promo online. Seemed legit. They said they were sending a few girls. Owner called to change time 3 times. One girl showed up. Didn't clean stove. Microwave or appliances. Didn't clean toilets. I was told the basement would be an extra $25.so I was OK with that. The one girl after 4 hours said she couldn't finish. She called the owner. The owner called me demanding more money. She talked and talked and was lecturing me about how I need to pay more for another hour to do the basement. She was rude and unprofessional. One girl showing up wasn't enough especially when I was expecting more. It was a waste of time and money and I ended up cleaning what I paid for. Stay away.

    House Cleaning

We bought this on a living social promo to get some help around the house. At first, we provided the cleaner with a list and she seemed to do a good job, but then each time after that, it has gotten worse. Who cleans the washroom and doesn't do the mirrors and the floors? Do I have to say that too? There are also many scheduling and rescheduling issues and one time they did not even come or call! The owners have changed and someone needs to help them run their business. When you call, there is not even a greeting to leave a message, just a beep. Good luck if you can get them in person.

    House Cleaning

I first used your service when you came out with the LivingSocial coupon. I was very impressed with how thorough the ladies were. I decided to use your service again. Here is a blow-by-blow account of what happened In less than 30 minutes, one of the cleaners informed me that it is very hot inside the house and she would like the AC to be turned on. Very fair. I did as she requested. Despite leaving a specific list of what needed to be cleaned, I had to ask your cleaners again to clean inside the kitchen cabinets. 10 minutes after the AC was turned on, one of your cleaners said it was very hot and that she needed 5 minutes in the hallway to "cool down". More often than not it was just one person who did the cleaning and the other one would huddle next to to the cleaner and just watch! This time around the service was terrible. The ladies who came managed to "clean" a 750 sq. foot apartment in less than 45 minutes. I don't know how that is possible. After everything the lady asked me if I am happy. I had to say "Yes" because I am not someone who is good with confrontation. I am not someone who is very fussy but it bothers me when I don't get my money's worth. Now that I've said what I did not appreciate, let me also say what I do. I do respect the fact that instead of charging me the full price, you decided to charge me for 2 hours. Not many businesses have that level of integrity. Thanks.

    House cleaning

This company seemed professional, but changed appointment times at the last minute. After a cleaning the house smelled of bleach for a week after. Not Eco friendly. Not pet friendly either.

    Desperate Housemaids housecleaning

I paid $230 through Groupon for six 2-hour cleanings. Instead of one cleaner for two hours, they send two for one hour. My previous cleaning lady could complete my entire house within two hours but with Desperate Housemaids, I have to segment my job as the cleaners work slowly, and they are not very efficient. Depending on who they send, they do between a poor to decent job. They use our products, when it specifies it should be their products, and scheduling is a complete nightmare. They constantly call to reschedule, and it takes forever to get a booking if you happen to need to reschedule. I think they are focused on the GTA, and although they say they service the outlying communities, I do not believe they are prepared or set up to service Oakville. They have oversold through Groupon and I believe are struggling to keep up with their clientele. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT get this Groupon deal again, nor will I be rebooking with them. I am not impressed with the quality of customer service, or the cleaning services provided.

    House cleaning

Terrible service in all aspects - inconsistent cleaning, constant changes to scheduled appointments and even skipping scheduled cleanings. Staff do not seem to be overly concerned about losing business. It appears they are just trying to keep up with their groupon, red flag deals. Every occurence has been a headache with this company and frankly no one there cares. I'd suggest you save yourself the hassle with this company and find a quality service that will be there to help you, rather than put you out.

    Cleaning services.

My experience with desperate housemaids has been up and down. But ever since Catherine and Jennie have been coming to my home I must say I have no complaints. They come in and know exactly what to do and do a very good job doing it. Keep up the good work girls!!!!!

    Housecleaning

Had a team of two in for two hours in to do my 1000ft apartment - which on their site says that they can clean approx. 500/1h. The bathroom was in dire state, so I figured that would take one person one hour to do and then the rest would be done well. Not so. They managed to vacuum the living room/dining room and mop the floor. Dusting was half effort - Even the bathroom was shoddy. I could have done their job in less time. They also used our products, left them out. Threw out our toothpaste and razor head. Very disappointed!

    Home cleaning bi-weekly

I have had several different teams from Desperate housemaids come to clean at my place. Some were good however head office did not follow up to ensure that the teams that were good would keep coming back - some of them work independently now. Currently Sophia is cleaning my house and does a great job. She calls if she will be late and works out holiday scheduling with me. Sophia is meticulous and let's me know if there are repairs or items to be addressed in my old house. The work is all done by the field workers and if you get a good cleaner you can only hope to keep them as there doesn't seem to be any incentive to retain cleaners by the office staff. I like using the service so I can pay by credit card, which seems to be the only service provided by the office. Maybe if they had more cars on the road, they would reap the benefits of marketing the brand name without having to discount their prices for promotions that are difficult to manage.

    Bi-weekly house cleaning

We've been using the Desperates as we call them for more than a year. Started with a groupon and found them professional and efficient. We had a few scheduling issues late in 2011, but the house always looks great. We discussed the scheduling with Harry (who's very accomodating) and haven't had any problems since. Our cleaner on the current schedule is Sophia, who does really excellent work.
