We'd always known the boiler was in great condition, but never really considered the pump. In the dead of winter, it started vibrating and sounding like a diesel generator. Afterglow responded to our emergency needs with the highest priority, switched out the old pump in less than two hours, and provided a top quality, super silent pump. It was a clean and efficient job. Needless to say, we were relieved that our February heat wasn't interrupted.

Everyone has been extremely professional and the customer service is a step above all the rest.

We moved into an old home last summer with radiator heat, etc. We love the bones of the house but knew that some of the heating system would need some TLC. We had Stephen and the Afterglow experts come over to inspect the heating system. They were fantastic. But the best was when the rad's started screaming one night during the cold winter. Stephen sent a team right away to put in a new fan. I would highly recommend Stephen and his team! The service is great!

Initial installation and follow up for a refit of a water based heat exchanger and set of radiators was acceptable although installed months late. A few minor problems were corrected on 6 month follow up. However, we have had a serious knocking in one radiator since installation a year ago and this has not been corrected. Worse, Afterglow has made no attempt to correct. They were scheduled in December to come end of December. They called and rescheduled. They were a no show on the reschedule. They have not responded to email attempts since. The rad has to sit wide open to avoid the knocking thus wasting energy costs. The comment below that the problem has been corrected is premature. There are still issues with the system. Update as of 1 June 2016. Afterglow was able to correct the knocking by reversing the input and output on the rad (they were hooked up wrong initially). They also corrected another problem caused by a backflow valve failure, so that we were getting cold water drawn into our hot water outflow. I am pleased that Afterglow was persistent in working to solve the problem and realize that our heating system (Jaga hot water radiators running through a heat exchanger off our hot water tank) would take time to get the bugs out. We have a state of the art system at this point.

My furnace is old and on it's last legs. I can't afford a new one and afterglow has replaced major elements the past three years now. A few years ago I was told by Union Gas that I needed a new water heater that was top of the line. Since I had bought it, I had to pay the near $1500 to replace it. Afterglow came and fixed it for about $125.00. It's still working great .

I bought a house in May 2014 and promptly booked a furnace service with another company in June 2014. In that service my equipment was tagged, gas disabled, and was told that I had a cracked heat exchanger. I phoned Afterglow based on a co-worker's recommendation. Afterglow was one of four firms I contacted for quotes. While all the other firms showed up with glossy promotional sheets to quote as quickly as possible with their "standard" product, Stephen took a very different approach. He took the time to talk about our air quality concerns and priced out a number of options. He returned a couple times to refine his understanding of our needs. As an added bonus, he brought two electric space heaters before we were customers as we were heading into a fall cold snap with a new born. After all the calculations were in, Afterglow's price was the lowest. When we encountered a problem during install requiring Union Gas, the costs did not change. The quoted cost was the final cost. The team was respectful and took the time to explain what we could do as home owners to extend the life of our equipment. The equipment has lasted through a hard winter and has kept us warm. My furnace blower motor decided to seize on the coldest night of the year. I called Afterglow and asked them if a tech could come on-site and fix the problem. My furnace is over 20 years old and the lady taking my call was very honest by saying they couldn't guarantee that they could find a spare part but would do their best. The tech, Paul, arrived about 2 hours after as promised. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. Unfortunately it was impossible to find an original spare part at first. We went through a couple of options (including trying to find an alternative motor and potentially drilling new holes in the enclosure to make brackets fit) but after calling the vendor Olsen and getting a recommendation for an alternative motor, Paul was able to locate one with one of the wholesalers they deal with. He drove out there to pick it up and was back at my house in no time at all. Long story short: Everything was fixed, our house is nice and cozy again and the bill was fair. I will give Afterglow my furnace and HVAC business from now on and highly recommend them to others. The fact that they are a family business just makes it so much more rewarding to work with them. 10 stars, without a doubt.

Nov. 22nd. 2014 I had an emergency service call for my furnace . I contacted Afterglow and within 2 hours the serviceman arrived. Stephen McDonald was very polite and professional and had the furnace up and running very quickly. This the 3rd. Service call that I have used Afterglow for various problems,and each time I have had excellent service. I was more than satisfied with the glowing results. JD

I contacted Afterglow regarding a furnace in a house I was renovating. Initially Steve tried to repair the existing furnace. However, a new furnace with A/C was the better solution. All work was completed in a timely and professional manner. They worked alongside my renovation crew, always pleasant and cooperative. I added a water heater and additional ducting; no problem. Afterglow answered every concern that I had; from the technician to the office, they worked with me to make my home comfortable again! I would recommend Afterglow without reservation.
