CAS sells defective products and takes no responsibility for them

Ordered a GE compact washer to replace one that had a design flaw that eventually caused it to stop working. Had to order the same model because it is stacked with the matching dryer. The washer exhibited the same flaw the first time I turned it on. I called the store and left several voice mails and TWO DAYS LATER, they got back to me and told me that they take no responsibility for manufacturer's defects. Now I have to go through GE repair (another nightmare) to fix this brand new appliance. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you go to the Better Business Bureau site, you will see dozens of complaints against this company and all they do is offer excuses and accusations that the customer did not follow their policies. They NEVER offer any resolution. This is a company to avoid at all costs. Any initial savings on you purchase will be quickly negated.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that your washer is not working. Please note that the manufacturer, in this case GE, holds the warranty and therefore would need to have a service technician check the functionality of your appliance to determine if it can be repaired or would need to be replaced. My apologies for any inconvenience. Regards, CAS

Shoddy shipping packaging, company takes no responsibility

I purchased a ‘floor model’ LG dishwasher. I unwrapped it when it was ready for installation, and noticed a dent both at the side of the door and in the side of the tub - so much so that the bottom rack would not open. It was obviously damaged in transit. I called to have a replacement; I would pay the difference in price for a new model. I was told that I had been required to inspect it upon arrival. The shipping company did not offer to unwrap it; nor did I realize that I had only 48 hours to report damage. Canadian Appliance Source is taking no reponsibility for the the shoddy packaging of the appliance before it was shipped. It was not the original manufacturers box, but badly wrapped cardboard wrapped in packing tape. I have been offered no compensation whatsoever. The sales associate who originally took my order has not returned my phone call, even though he gave me his card and said I could contact him about.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your review. I am sorry to hear that your dishwasher is damaged. Our records indicate that you received the dishwasher on March 21, 2018 and notified us on April 23, 2018 that there was damage to the appliance. In this case, we would not offer any compensation as the appliance has been in your possession for more than a month. Please note that your feedback regarding the lack of communication from your salesperson has been provided to his manager. Regards, CAS

    Appliance

Worst customer service possible. Damaged product noted on delivery slip and they expect you to bring it back to the store and exchange for new one. I will not be buying from this Mickey Mouse outfit. Be aware of the fine print. For the little savings I received much better service from homedepot they actually care about the service after the sale.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your review. My apologies that you received a damaged ventilation unit and that there was some miscommunication regarding the exchange process. The exchange was approved and in an attempt to expedite the process we sent the replacement to the Ottawa store so you could pick it up quickly. I am happy to hear that you have picked up the replacement unit and we have offered a $30 refund for your inconvenience. Regards, CAS

Terrible customer service, no knowledge of products

While this store has a great selection of appliance, the customer service is awful. I have purchased 2 appliances at separate times, and at separate stores, and I still had the same experience. The salespeople jump at you the second you walk in the door. But the second they swipe your credit card, they quickly lose interest and walk away to find another customer. They also have zero knowledge about their products. Any question I had they had to go online to the main public website to look up the answers. They could not tell us the pros and cons of appliances, or the differences between 2 brands. I went home after a purchase and did my own research, only to discover that the one that I chose had terrible reviews, and the salesperson failed to mention any of these issues to me. When I went back to the store the next day to change the range to another one, my salesperson had the day off, and the person who approached us was visibly annoyed that he had to deal with us, as the sale was already made by someone else and he would not make his commission or target sales. He did not speak with us, and as I was asking a question he just walked away when he saw a customer walk in the door. They know nothing about their products, so do your research in advance, and if you aren't planning on buying, don't expect any of them to show any interest in you.

    Appliance purchase (electric clothes dryer)

My experience is entirely positive and based on the fact that Canadian Appliance Source got everything to do with my purchase right the first time. Muz (short for Muzamel) was efficient, competent, and friendly. The dryer wasn't in stock at the Kitchener store but he got it in by the next day. Because my schedule didn't suit that, they held it in the store for a week without a problem. They loaded the dryer carefully into our van for my wife with promptness and courtesy. Price: Maytag lists at $749.99 on their site; Home Depot was $598.00; RONA was $549.00 (RONA and HD required special order); Lowes advertised at $399.00 (on sale from $749.00) but is sold out nation-wide. Canadian Appliance listed at $486.74 and had it the next day. This was my first experience with them and I'll be checking here first for any future appliance purchases.

    Appliances

We bought our 5 appliances from Canadian Appliance. It is our 2nd purchase through them. We were very satisfied with our last purchase and I'm sure we will be just as satisfied with this one. It was fast and easy thanks to Gladwyn. He was a great help to us.

    New Slide In Electric Stove

After considerable research on the internet and visiting the Stoney Creek Store, I followed up by phone and spoke to Alex in Stoney Creek who was absolutely great in answering my many questions. I am patiently awaiting the delivery of my new stove tomorrow. Fortunately my stove was in stock and he company was very quick to contact and get item delivered. I would recommend CAS to anyone looking for a good price and good service.

Very happy with kitchen appliance purchases

Went in to CAS for the first time and due to our great sales person Jamie, purchased an induction range, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. All have arrived in perfect condition and we are very happy. Jamie made this a very easy experience. He was helpful and knowledgeable about the pros and cons of all appliances. His follow up email and communications were really appreciated. Really impressed with their delivery service, and e invoices and communications! Have recommended them to many others since our visit!

    Appliance purchase

My appliance purchase was expedited professionally and expediately by Dan, a CAS representative in London. Due to his thorough knowledge of products the purchase process was efficient and seamless. Furthermore, Dan followed with a Thankyou email, as well as information to links regarding product details and specifications.

Be prepared to wait longer than expected!

My husband and I visited their store in Mississauga. The sales rep seemed knowledgable and helped us pick our dishwasher pretty quickly and in our price range. He checked the computer and advised it was in stock and we proceeded to pay. As soon as our payment went thru he tapped a few keys and said SORRY, my mistake, its not in stock. Should be in within 7 days. Righttttt. I called customer service for an update. She said at least another 2 to 3 weeks. Had we known we would have picked another model or gone to another store. The customer service rep confirmed this is a common sales tactic and Im not at all impressed.

    Answer from pro:
