    renovation

We planned to renovated our home and after much debate we decided our best bet for new windows and doors was to choose Window City. The quality of the windows and doors was exactly what we were looking for and the service team was great too. I'd happily choose them again.

    New Windows

We live on a busy street where streetcars run all night and our concern was getting windows that would keep the sound out. The dealer recommended the triple glazed windows from Window City which work better than we could have hoped. Very happy we took his advice.

    door service

Thanks to the window city service team for their help. The multi point lock on my patio door wasn't aligning properly. They came when they said they would and fixed it on the spot.

    home construction

I've been using Window City windows and doors for new construction projects for over 10 years. Their vinyl built line outlasts anything else I've ever used on the market. All their stuff is energy star compliant which is one of the questions that homeowners always ask me. Great choice.

    Horrible warranty and service.

Window City is the manufacturer of the windows I had installed about five years ago. They are single hung vinyl units with a tilt in feature. The tabs that keep the window in place for tilting in are not very solid. They gave way causing the bottom sash (which was up at the time) to fall in and smash the sealed glass unit. Luckily the interior pane held up and only the exterior one broke. I contacted my installer (Window land) who said it would be covered under warranty and that it would be replaced. They referred me to the manufacturer (window city) and it has been a giant mess since. The customer service rep I dealt with was incompetent and she had no clue as to what I was talking about. I began dealing with the service installer and he was adamant that I would have to pay to replace the glass, even after I told him that it was because of their defective product that caused the glass to break in the first place. Needless to say to get the ball rolling I agreed to pay for the cost of the glass (about $40 for the glass and $160 to install it). They sent out a service agent (after weeks of phone tag) and I insisted he check the rest of the windows. 4 out of the 9 operable windows had defective pins that were bent or broken all together. I was told that the glass unit would be ready in two weeks time and someone would contact me to set up the install. After four weeks of waiting I called them up and once again the customer service rep had no idea what I was talking about. They are coming out this week to finally install it. When I asked about what guarantees could be made to ensure that these pins hold up and I don't have another broken window. The service installer informed me that he could give me some pins to change out myself if I notice that they are starting to bend or break. I have about 5 old basement windows that need replacing and I sure as hell will not use them again.

    Replace 12 windows

In 2010, I used a different vendor to replace the windows at the front of my house and was not really pleased with the quality. After a lengthy research of window companies, I selected Window City to purchase 12 windows to replace those at the back of my house. Their windows are much stronger and durable but best of all they look very striking and extravagant. My only regret is that I did not chose them also for the front of my house.

    Window Repair

If you care about service, I highly recommend that you NOT buy windows from Wind City. We spent thousands of dollars on putting in their windows. Our bay window in the dining room was defective (manufacturing defective). Window City sent a "repair person" to our house to fix the window (our window cleaners noticed the defect - not Window City). We were promised by Window City that there would be no damage to the brand new windows. In reality we were left with damage all around the window casing from the repair person prying open the window casement with a metal tool and rubber hammer. Window City refused to compensate us for the damage and said that the damage was "minor" and the window worked fine so we should have no problem. Now I'm forced to file a Statement of Claim and call the BBB. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing.

We bought some sliders and some casement windows

Our brand new slider windows are so drafty that when you put your hand beside it there is lots of air leak!! I have paper towels all around it to make it better. I called them and they sent a technician to install weather strip. He said it is a cold and windy day and that is why there is air Leak and windows are not submarines and he has seen worst!!! (how comforting) The office promised me to install better weather stripping on them but they were waiting for a shipment from Europe (sounds like a made up story). I have been waiting since April. I think I will pursue something from small claim court. Do not buy product from them. You will not get what you deserve for your money from this company. The dealer was Canak window and they accepted no responsibity what so ever and said they are efficient and in new homes the dealers install much worst..
