During the fall of 2012 my husband and I have had our kitchen, hall and main floor powder room renovated by Home Improvement People. Having never been through a renovation before we were a bit apprehensive. We are very happy with the end result. All of the staff and tradesmen were very professional. Issues were addressed and resolved in a timely manner. Very helpful suggestions were made and implemented to maximize the use of our small kitchen. The team of Tim, Mo, Cornell and Dave from the Home Improvement People did an excellent job gutting and renovating our en-suite bathroom which involved replacing the tub with a shower. Before the project was started Tim discussed with us the specifics of what we wanted and offered suggestions on the best place to put the niche and a design for the corner bench in the shower. The electrical and plumbing was altered as necessary. The tile work is BEAUTIFUL! Overall a lovely job. Thanks

It’s been 24 hours since the last of the crew packed up and I’m supposed to begin getting over the renovation fatigue, but I actually miss the wonderful crew headed by Elia! I marvelled at how well Elia and his team worked together. I was told that with this company the workmen show up on the first day at 8 a.m. and it is true. At all times Elia, Christian, Chris, Rick, Ozzie, Stanley, were accommodating, responsive, pleasant, and helpful. Turning a tired old basement into a “condo” for my elderly mother (that included a custom kitchen, 2 bedrooms, living room and bathroom) in less than 8 weeks was just short of miraculous and it all came in as quoted, no surprises. My neighbours are busy admiring the glamorous finished product and I suspect there will be some new interested future customers here. I kept in regular contact with Elia and any requests I made were promptly forwarded to the appropriate tradesperson. Elia was very gifted in calming the occasional worries and gently managed them all to a proper solution. The team was very willing to go the extra mile and assisted me with the little extras that they knew would be hard for me to manage – no additional charge. Where I felt out of my depth in deciding what to choose or do, they came up with plenty of wonderful, useful ideas that I greatly appreciated. My basement is now the nicest area of the house, but I hope in time that I can call The Team back and have them transform my kitchen too!

We had a half-demo'd basement bathroom that we needed to be fully demo'd and then re-built. Danny the estimator was the most professional estimator we met. The general contractor Mike was terrific, and advised us to buy all our fixtures ahead of time, and how much of everything we needed. I recommend this advice, btw, because it makes the reno go so much more smoothly when you already have all the components there. Mike also gave us the great tip of the cheap tiles at Olympia's discount outlet. The team they brought were amazing! Professional, tidy and best of all they completed everything on time, which was very important to us. We'd definitely hire them again!

Jerry completed our total bathroom renovation ahead of schedule and to our complete satisfaction. He took on the whole job crossing lines of many skill groups. It was very impressive to see him tackle all aspects with high technical ability. Although working quickly he took time to explain what he was doing, checking to verify requirements with us and did make a few excellent suggestions. Like the use of pencils to edge the tile versus the j -channel edging someone recommended. The bathroom is beautiful, beyond our expectations. Jerry must be the perfect contractor for HIP. He did all the work perfectly and didn't need any support from the home office. Thanks again Jerry. You were the perfect contractor for us, too.

Haydee, please extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Home Improvement People who planned and built a small apartment in the basement of my aged Aunt and Uncle who needed suddenly a full-time caretaker if they were not to be separated. Everyone without exception, was polite, caring, and helpful. The job was well managed, the time frame as advertised and shopping and details managed where there was no one else to do it. We started with an ugly, leaky bathroom on Monday and ended up with a gorgeous, fully-functional bathroom on Friday. The actual work in our house was done by the team of Nuku and Dumitzu and they were wonderful. They showed up everyday on time and worked extremely efficiently and hard throughout the entire week. They were knowledgeable and helpful, always willing to answer questions and work through any design issues. They made the renovation project a breeze and we were absolutely delighted with the results. We would definitely use this company again for any future projects. We appreciated their upfront pricing and there were no hidden surprises when the final bill came. The company is well-named, as they definitely improve your home!

Dear Home Improvement People, After going through a number of contractors some from Reno Mark; a supposedly reputable place to find contractors, we were finally able to find a renovation company that actually stuck to their word. We initially called Ben for our basement but after dealing with flaky contractors we called him back to add the two upstairs bathrooms as well. Sometimes you just can’t put a price on piece of mind. It was a pleasure every step of the way dealing with the Home Improvement People, from Ben to Haydee to Elia to Mien, Seth, and Chris. There was always a high degree of professionalism every step of the way. There was always someone available to answer questions. Adjustments were accommodated and made if necessary. Mean and his crew were so respectful, even helping my mom in and out of the house. These are not your normal renovation crew, they definitely go the extra mile and than some to ensure you are happy. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else if a friend or family member asked me for a good contractor. With the Home Improvement People you have peace of mind knowing that your start date will be adhered too; and they will move it forward or back depending on your needs. On your start date a crew will be there ready to work and every day after your start date a crew will be there ready to work. I know people who have had basement renovations take 8 months for less square footage, our basement took about 3 weeks. The two bathrooms took a little over two. I can honestly say it was a pleasure having Mien, Seth, and Chris in our home. It was like they were part of the family. I might even swap my brother for one of these guys if life were that simple. The finished product is beautiful, and while there are still some finishing touches due to product needing to be ordered they are minor and I know that Mien will be back to have them completed once the product arrives. My mom absolutely loves here handicap accessible shower. She tells everyone about how great it is and shows it off when ever people come over. Mien did an amazing job slopping the bathroom shower stall to be truly barrier free. My hats go off to him and the guys, I know this was not easy. Before you think about cutting corners and going with the guy/gal you found on a street poll waiting to turn left at an intersection call the Home Improvement People. You will be happy you did!
