We contacted HIP based on their incredible reviews on Homestars to do a large renovation on our side split in Upper Forest Hills. They did not disappoint. We were absolutely blown away by the level of organization, skill and professionalism. They completed a brand new kitchen, basement and four bathrooms in less than 3 months! They designed, sourced and implemented every aspect of our reno. The only extras were on items that we decided to add to the original scope. Their estimate was fair, detailed and accurate. We have been through several renovations previously - none of them good - and we were nervous to take on a large scale reno again. The Home Improvement People actually made the process enjoyable. We recently had the pleasure of working with The Home Improvement People for a complete bathroom renovation, and we cannot express how thankful we are for their exceptional service and quality workmanship. From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy with every aspect of the renovation. Gerhard, the sales consultant, was a pleasure to work with. He was always available to answer any questions we had and provided expert advice on how to best achieve our vision. We truly appreciated that Gerhard was transparent and fair in his pricing, ensuring that all necessary items were included in the quote without any surprise add-ons. The crew, led by Slev as site foreperson, Raphael as the jack of all trades, Igor as the tiling master, and the plumber (cant remember his name) the lead pipe whisperer, were simply fantastic. They were all so friendly and courteous, making sure to say hello and goodbye every day. They were always respectful of our decisions and kept us informed throughout the renovation process. We were especially impressed by their attention to detail, from demolition to fine finishing, and how they took great care to keep the work area clean and tidy at all times. Igor's tile layout, leveling, and cutting skills were exceptional, and he was able to tackle even the trickiest areas with ease. Raphael was a true jack of all trades, handling everything from installing the water proofing board of the shower to the final touches like painting and trim. Slev's attention to detail was unparalleled, and he made sure every aspect of the renovation was done to perfection. The plumber was also fantastic, ensuring that all the plumbing work was done correctly and efficiently, he had no issue effortlessly replacing the lead pipe from our toilet to the stack. We were so grateful that there were no surprises when it came to the final bill, as The Home Improvement People provided us with a detailed quote upfront, and any changes were discussed with us and documented in a signed change notice. This level of transparency gave us peace of mind and helped us avoid any unexpected costs. Overall, we could not be happier with the outcome of our bathroom renovation. The Home Improvement People exceeded our expectations in every way, and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional and reliable renovation service. HIP transformed my basement from a big open concrete box with windows into a finished living space with a laundry room, bathroom, office, and furnace room. I chose HIP based on the recommendation of my Home Insurance company, as well as Homestars reviews, and because of their 3-year warranty. My Project Manager, Elia, made sure that there were no significant delays between the various work groups, and that all the necessary materials were on-site when required.  He, and my 2 site-managers -Carlos and Christian- were always approachable and open to my questions or concerns.  My project was done under a Building Permit, meaning various Inspectors were checking throughout the job to ensure things were being done according to the Building Code.  There were no problems.  In fact, HIP identified an error in my Architects drawings which -if followed- would have resulted in major rework and potential water freezing problems (as well as an Inspection failure). HIP also agreed to fix a couple things on MY to-do list without any hesitation or additional cost.  Based on what I saw, all the workgroups (framers, electricians, HVAC and insulation people, plumbers, drywallers, painters, tilers, carpet-installers) were experts in their field; ie, no beginners or jack-of-all-trades. There was a little bit of rework required in tiling the bathroom tub area, but that came without any objections. I was extremely pleased with HIP; I would definitely hire them again without ANY hesitation. Thanks guys!

This was a 13 year old builder grade bathroom, that had been problematic since day 1. The fan always ran, yet it always seemed damp in this space. In the end the waterproof membrane for the shower base failed, the subfloor was compromised and moldy. We found The Home Improvement People (HIP) here on Homestars with all their excellent reviews. We worked with Phil, and Gerhard to get our dream bathroom and spa retreat drawn, and priced. We worked with some amazing retailers that clearly have a great relationship with HIP (that is always a good sign). Sil from Tubs, and Eden from Centura Tile were terrific. We then had the Bathroom crew come in to start demolition down to the studs. Replacing all the damaged subfloor .. and then starting building us our dream bathroom and spa retreat. It turned out better than we could possibly have imagined. The crew (Nadia, and John) were simply amazing. Wonderful to work with and consulted me throughout to ensure the final product met or exceeded our vision. The photos speak for themselves, and this was all completed in 3.5 weeks. (only missing the glass for steam shower which is being installed by another company very soon) I highly recommend The Home Improvement People, and will certain not hesitate to use them again.

We were 100% satisfied with the basement kitchen Reno we had done. Elia was very understanding of the task at hand, and seamlessly lined up the stages of the renovation, and was super supportive, and very communicative through out the entire Reno. Carlos the project lead was extremely efficient, respectful, and friendly, and the workmanship was great. He answered any questions we had, and always showed up right on time to start working. We would not hesitate to use them again, or recommend them. Great job guys, and thanks again!

This was a major restoration/renovation of an older house involving plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, windows, furnace etc. Eli was great to work with. Answered all questions promptly; worked within a very tight budget and on time. Highly recommend.

We began the journey of renovating two upstairs bathrooms working with Gerhard who connected us with Charlotte the designer. They were both fantastic to work with. Nadia and her team actually did the Reno work. The team were fast, courteous, neat and very meticulous with their work. I would definitely work with HIP again!

We first called the Home Improvement People to deal with a bathtub that was leaking through the floor. We met with Jerry who walked us through the plan, gave us a detailed list of what we would need to purchase (tiles/bathtub/vanity etc.) and expected price of the job. Most companies we had talked to at this point had given us rough quotes over the phone - Jerry actually showed up, looked at the place, took measurements, listened to our plan, and then gave us a quote. Already a win. We decided to go with them right away. The timeline was expected to be 2 weeks to completely gut the bathroom and redo it. Jerry showed up every morning by 9am and cleaned up after himself on the way out. He offered suggestions on adjustments to make as we finalized our remodel. He also pointed out an issue with the tiles we had purchased (too porous for a bathroom) and suggested alternatives. Once complete, the bathroom looked amazing. We still love it! When we started a small laundry room reno, the Home Improvement People were the first ones we reached out to. We had a small all-in-one unit (no venting, 110v) and wanted to get rid of it, and install a new stacked washer/dryer (external venting + 220) and add a small sink in a different location. We managed to work with Jerry again, and once again he more than delivered! The work was done incredibly quickly (within the week), and for a price that was definitely in our budget. Once again he showed up and began work by 9am and cleaned up after himself nightly. For all future projects, the Home Improvement People have definitely made it to the top of our list.

The Home Improvement People, HIP, had done a bathroom renovation for us last December. We were thrilled with the results and wanted a refresh for our kitchen. Philip and Charlotte came to see us, and we explained what we were looking for. A quote was presented that included a design phase once the agreement was signed. We asked to do things a little different which they agreed to. We paid for the design separate so were able to pin down what we were looking for and then cost that out. Charlotte had listened and then there was a little back and forth, but we were really excited about the concept. Unlike many kitchens that have stainless steel appliances with painted wood cabinets, we went with matte white appliances and a bleached maple construction. The only downside was things in the renovation market are very busy, so construction didnt begin right away. However, once it did, everything was basically as they said it would be. Im not going to mention names, for fear of missing someone, but I will talk about Larry who was the project manager. He has folks within the trades that he insists upon for his jobs and that was a bonus for us. First, we had the crew that did the demo and many other important tasks along the way, then folks for electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, flooring, tiling, ventilation and microwave installation and countertops. Basically 4 to 5 weeks and things were done. Only part we did, other than buying the appliances, sink and backsplash was the painting. That was something we were able to do around different segments of the work. Had one minor bump along the way that HIP was very quick to rectify. Would we use them again, definitely. Would we recommend them to friends also definitely. Thank you Charlotte and Larry and everyone else who had a part in giving us our new kitchen.
