Review from HomeOwner Review left on 9 Feb 2017Rating: 5 out of 5After an uprofessional windows company with 10/10 stars on this website never showed up for their 'quote' (as well as other firms for quotes), we contacted Kris at Long Life who was very responsive last summer after our patio door was leaking. He set up a date/time for a look at the job and showed up as scheduled or called if there was any delays. Honest opinion on what should be done and what we really didn't need to spend our $. His workers did a great job installing and also properly capped 2 of our existing windows. Wish we had the funds to do more with this company. We highly recommend them. Thx Kris & gang my previous review of another company that was approved but unseemingly not showing up on this 10/10 company on HS. Unprofessional-only doing "big jobs" perhaps? One Patio door installation company failed to even address our interest in obtaining their services last year. We took days off from work to wait for them and never showed up, only to have excuses made. So far only 1 other firm had the courtesy to actually respond (our review also on here). Peter had the gall to say he'll stop by to take a look next time he's in North Vancouver! (and we met him at the North Shore/West Van Home show!)Review from Ryan Chan Ryan Chan

I have done tons of research before picking LongLife windows and I am glad that I made a right choice! They recently installed 14 replacement windows and 2 patio doors at my house. They are not the cheapest but their products are among the best you could get, solidly built and so smooth to operate. Paul and Kris were so easy to deal with, from the initial home visit to answering all my questions and concern. Bernard and Sean did the measurement and installation. Bernard's workmanship is second to none. His measurement was so accurate so that we maximized the size of the windows. He paid so much attention to detail (also a good sense of humour!) to make sure every single window and door were installed properly - and look great. He even repositioned all the safety bars and fixed the metal gate for me! My understanding is that the company does not use sub-contractors and all of their installers are employees. LongLife assigns enough time to each job so that they can do a good job. If you are looking for new windows and want to have the best products and installation, go with LongLife. Highly recommended!Answer from pro:
Thank you for your kind review, Ryan. It is our goal to provide good value for the service we provide, and it is great to hear when our customers feel we have done just that. I will let Bernard and Shawn know how happy you are with all aspects of the job they did, even the comic relief! Thanks again for your business and for taking the time to write us a review. We had Bernard and Shawn install all of our windows and doors in 3 days. Those 2 guys are some of the hardest workers I've seen. They did a truly amazing job. Even raised the one of the sliders a bit because it would be easier for the deck installer to install the new deck. Very thoughtful. We could not be happier with the product and the install. I have no problem recommending Long Life and Vinyltek for any projects that my friends are doing. Shawn walked me around and showed me all the features of the windows too. Very nice guy. Paul was a pleasure to work with as well, from the initial consult right up until the final walk through. It seemed like he truly cared about getting us the best product. Kris, give these guys a HUGE Christmas bonus. They really do deserve it! They did a fantastic job.Answer from pro:
Thank you for your kind words, Chris, You should really feel a difference in your home, especially with this snap of cold weather that is upon us. As for bonuses, did the guys promise you a cut for your gracious comments? ;) Kris Alexander, General Manager

You can add me to the population of extremely satisfied customers who will not hesitate in recommending Long Life Windows and Doors. We were looking to get six windows replaced and also a new sliding door. From the initial consult, Paul did an excellent no-pressure presentation of the product offered, and gave as much information as possible in order for me to make an informed choice. Sean and Bernard did a beautiful job of installing our windows. They were very conscientious in keeping my home clean during and after the installation of the windows. Not only were they professional, but they were personable too, always willing to answer any questions from the customer at any point during the process. That will give reassurance to any homeowner who is new to the process where it could be stressful seeing gaping holes purposely made in the home prior to mounting new windows. In fact, Bernard discovered and showed me that my kitchen window sill was not level and they ended up properly rebuilding it for me at no extra cost! It is very uncommon these days to have workers who care and take pride in their work, and I was blessed that Long Life Windows had such employees.Answer from pro:
Thank you for your kind review. We understand that any home-reno project can be stressful (especially during November weather!), so we are happy to hear that Sean and Bernard kept that stress to a minimum for you. Enjoy your new windows and sliding door. Kris Alexander, General Manager

The product is only as good as the people who install them. Paul was upfront and open about costs from the very start and till the very end. Josh's and Bernard's crew were professional and took pride in their work. They went beyond what needed to be done when they discovered dry rot underneath the window sills and provided further protection and support to the walls. I will gladly be their references and back them up 100%!Answer from pro:
Thank you Victor! What an amazing review. We agree: we have the most talented, professional crews in the business. Kris Alexander General Manager

Our house was long overdue for new windows so when my mother in law recommended Longlife Windows it was a no brained as she stated she had hers installed 20 years ago and had one issue and they came immediately and fixed it as it's a life time guarantee. We got in on a cancellation and the job was done in a few days (we have a lot of windows)! The installlers were professional and Personable. We love our windows and new patio door and have had so many compliments. It may seem like a lot of money but you are paying for the high quality and lifetime guarantee which by the sounds of they easily stick by because the very few problems that arise. Lastly, the sales people are great to deal with. I fully recommend this company!Answer from pro:
Thank you, Lori. 'Amazing quality and beautiful finish' might be our new motto! We are happy to hear you listened to your mother-in-law and that we did not disappoint. Stay warm this winter with your new windows. Kris Alexander, General Manager

Review left on 13 Oct 2016Rating: 5 out of 5Patio Door Replaced
I had a patio door replaced by another company on another unit and was not happy with the results. I was looking to replace another door when I came across Long Life Windows and Doors while searching on-line. The reviews looked promising so I gave them a call and right from the start I was impressed. From start to completion Blaine, Zooey, and the installation team were fantastic. They delivered a good product as promised with no issues or complaints and all done with good communication and in a timely manner. They might be a little higher priced than competitors but they are well worth it with no hassles or broken promises. The job gets done and done well and that's worth it!Answer from pro:
Thank you, Ron! Our 'promising' reviews are what brought you to us and we appreciate you adding to those reviews with your kind words. We believe in providing high quality and great value, and we're glad you agree. Kris Alexander General Manager

Review left on 5 Oct 2016Rating: 5 out of 5Replaced Three Old Windows, and They Look Great!
Firstly, I had contacted no less than 3 different contractors to perform the job. I know the window business is both busy and competitive, what with either new construction and/or renovations taking most of the various company's times. Of the 3 that I contacted, Chris got back to me in the timeliest manner. To backtrack, I'd e-mailed each of them pictures of each window to be replaced, with the specific measurements. And of the 3, Chris was the only one that actually made an on site visit to see for himself what the actual job was. Further, I had still not heard from the other two yet, so I followed up with them, and they each finally responded with a quote without a site visit. By then, I'd made up my mind to go with Long Life. My wife and I visited the showroom and spoke with Chris directly about our needs and preferences. During this meeting he let us know in no uncertain terms that the job, being a small one, would get done within about a 10 week period, and would be a good end of the week installation so the guys can get an early start on their weekend. In other words, he didn't promise anything he couldn't or wouldn't deliver on. A few weeks later, one of his installers contacted me to do another site visit to assess the job at hand. He took detailed notes of what we wanted and we discussed other issues with the window replacement that they could mitigate. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and out of our conversation I felt assured that the job would be done with excellence. On the day that the job was to be worked on, Preston was the lead of the two person crew. Both of the installers were very professional, friendly, and totally respectful of our house and property. They did the job in a few short hours, and cleaned up after themselves and left the place as though they'd never been there, with the exception of the newly installed windows. From start to finish, I had an extremely pleasant experience with Long Life, and I would heartily recommend this company to anyone.Answer from pro:
Thank you, Henry, for your thoughtful and thorough review. We enjoyed working with you and truly appreciate your kind words. Enjoy your new windows! Kris Alexander General Manager

Review left on 3 Oct 2016Rating: 5 out of 5New windows for old home
Our heritage home was losing too much heat from its old windows. Following a recommendation, I contacted Paul for a quote. From the beginning, he was prompt and professional. He did not try any up-sells, and I felt confident we were only getting what we needed. He did a custom order for us on a glass door which turned out excellent. The installation crew, led by Josh, were pleasant and respectful. They left our house immaculate after a day's worth of hard work. Highly recommend this company!Answer from pro:
Thank you for your kind review. We love that you found us by recommendation and are willing to continue that by confidently recommending us, too. Have a warm and cozy fall and winter, Kris Alexander General Manager

We went with Long Life because of their warranty and the appearance of professionalism. When Blaine came to quote I found him professional and friendly. I am generally pleased with the quality of the windows but the install was not easy. Grumbling crew were nice enough but complained about various things as they were subbing in for the other crew. They scratched our bathtub, left mess in the house and our front yard and the side of the house including broken glass. They did give us a $100 credit due the mess that was left... They were more costly than all the other companies that quoted. I am not sure the extra value is there. They are very busy and their lead time seems much longer than other companies. They don't contract out their installations however which is important to note. I was hoping they would come quote for the rest of the windows so we could give them a second chance but it didn't work out so we'll have to proceed with another installer.
