    Electrical issue

    Contacted this company for an electrical issue. Two electricians came and spent 1 hour trying to identify the problem, they were not able to identify the problem after 45 minutes. Said that we would need a further diagnostic for $800. We had our handyman take a quick look at the issue and identified that it was a tripped GFCI outlet, he reset the outlet and problem solved. This company is very underhanded, do not use them!

    A Patient Care area falls under Section 24 of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. A Medical facility is wired differently than a home, and Electricians know this, and would not expect a GFI to pass through to patient care area receptacles, so attention was focused on the panel circuits. The panel was checked thoroughly. We were told by a staff member that the room in question would be occupied within 5 -10 minutes. minutes, so a plan to return under a further diagnostic was presented. This was explained to the owner.

    Move dinning room light

    I use Captain electric for all my electrical adds/moves and changes. They come well prepared, friendly and I know the job is done right and to code.

    Entrance Lighting

    Lights worked for 15 years then stopped coming on at dusk. Changed the switch myself with no reaults. Time for the professionals. Old fixtures just "weathered-out" with no roof above and ezposed to the elements. Tested for current continuity to know that old fixtures were the problem.

    Electrical Wiring or Panel Upgrade
    Jonah and his co-workers were excellent. They were clear and organized. Excellent communication with the office as well.

    light fixture installations and outlet repair

    Mitchell and Cory were professional, courteous and very efficient. They answered all of my questions before I even asked them, and explained everything to me before the job was done. I would highly recommend Captain Electric and Mitchell and Cory

    Minor Electrical Repair

    Mitchell was on time and very friendly. He was informative and took his time to explain everything to me as I am a new home owner. We had a short circuit in the basement with an unsafe outlet and he made quick work of it by installing a plate and making sure it was working safely again. I also asked him to check several outlets around the house to make sure they were all working and safe to use. Thank you for the fast and friendly service Mitchell!

    EV charger installation

    Jackson and his apprentice Merrick were quick, efficient and clean. Wouldnt even have known they were there after the work was complete. Everything works perfectly.

    misleading quote - bait and switch

    After seeing the positive reviews on homestars we asked Captain electric to troubleshoot a straight forward electrical issue at our house. The basement lights were not working despite being recently installed. We also had an issue with our hard wired smoke alarm. We were told that the service fee is $189 which we were glad to pay. When the technician arrived, he fixed both issues within an hour. To our surprise the invoice given was $700 and not $189! This was for 1 hr of work with no additional materials required. This was their labour cost for 1hr of work. When we raised our concerns with the manager, we were told that this is how they bill and he was unapologetic. This company misleads their clients and has billing practices that are unethical. I can understand if expensive material was required to solve the issue but an hourly rate of $700 cannot be justified and is completely unreasonable. Please look elsewhere for your electrical needs as there are other competent companies out there who do not overcharge the customer. Watch out for artificially low estimates. Very disappointing and would recommend you look elsewhere.

It was made very clear on your initial call to our office that our service call is $189, and that diagnostics and repairs ARE EXTRA. Our Electricians and Apprentices are experts at troubleshooting, and you had 1 Electrician and 1 Apprentice at your location that day solving your electrical problems. After an initial confirmation of scope of work and assessment, and BEFORE proceeding with any work .....you were advised of the additional investment costs involved, and you told our Electrician to proceed. This has always been our standard method of operating. We let our clients know the investment before the work begins. The problem with your lighting was solved, new switches were installed to replace existing , and our Electrician investigated another smoke alarm in a seperate dwelling unit, and a repair was made to damaged connections. Our GPS tracking system shows our work van on site from 9:10am to 11:02am.

    Upgrade electrical service to 200 w, Outlet for ev charger

    I had Capt. Electric upgrade my electric service to 200 kw and install wiring and outlet for charger of electric vehicle . I was extremely impressed by the outstanding professionalism, and friendly and courteous approach by all the personnel from the receptionists at the office to the actual electricians at the job site. My highest recommendations to Kevin and Ethan who showed up promptly , worked efficiently, anticipating any possible problems and dealing with them preemptively, and explaining any issues to me carefully. Although their prices were a little higher than 2 other quotes their overall performance and attention to detail gives me the security of a job well done ( You don't want to cut corners when it comes to electrical work I would give Capt. Electric at least 5 stars , 10 out of 10, more if I could

    Smoke Detector

    I kept having issues with my smoke detectors causing false alarms and decided to use the company. They followed up on my appointment and provided me with an update on the arrival of the technician. Jonah came on time, answered all my questions, and installed the new detectors on the spot. I hope they dont cause any more problems:)
