    Renovating stairs

    This is the second time I am using renew stairs (MOE) to do a job for me as I expected he was responsible,on time ,no change in price,very helpful to us to make the right decision. and actually with his recommendation i saved money too, I am really happy with the work done by MoE.I would highly recommend MoE ,as I did before,to anyone who wants to renovate stair cases. I will definitely rate his work 10

    Capping of stairs

    I am extremely impressed with the service, quality and installation that Renew-Stairs provided. Prior to installation their sales staff recommenced varying options as well as areas where cost savings could be found. The end result was stunning. I would recommend this company to anyone and have already.

    Stairs and Banister Refinish

    We used Moe from Renew-Stairs to re-finish the banister and stairs in our side split. Moe was fantastic to work with. He had good suggestions, was always reachable, prompt, and delivered on his promises. We were satisfied with the quality of work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Renew Stairs to others.

    Staricase Reno

    Moe takes great pride in his work and delivered a completely renovated starcase on time and within budget. His attention to detail and ensuring you are completely satsified with the construction plan and colours makes him a pleasure to deal with. His installer Quinn takes pride in a job well done and esured we were happy with the workmanship as the job progressed.

    Stair refinishing

    Moe and his crew were very professional, not obtrusive and more importantly, trustworthy. My family had a very pleasant experience with the stair refinishing and would gladly hire Moe and his crew again. If you are refinishing your stairs, I would highly suggest that you cover every possible enterance to rooms you want to (try) keep clean. The dust from the sanding goes everywhere. This includes under doors, and every little space between the door and door jams.

    Refinished stairs

    A few words to describe Moe and his crew would be: Very professional and excellent craftsmanship. Before selecting Renew Stairs I did my research on a few companies/individuals to compare prices. Moe came to visit my home to discuss the project at hand, offer suggestions for design and was totally prepared to show samples of stain color and banisters. This was very helpful because Moe’s suggestions helped enhance the outcome of my stairs. A quote was presented and from my research found it to be in the same ballpark as the other quotes. We were amazed by the efficiency from Moe and his crew. They started a complete reno of my stairs on Wed and were finished by Thursday pm. We are 100% satisfied by the work that was done. Our stairs are the highlight of our home now and looks amazing.

    Renovation to Carpeted Stairs

    I had 4 sets of stairs done by Moe in a 3 storey townhouse wherein the stairs were carpeted by the builder. Some stairs had to be modified as they were crooked and Moe did this work expertly so the stair would be even. The work is excellent and it is so nice to have beautiful stairs instead of carpet throughout the house. Moe was prompt and his worker was on time everyday and the job was completed in record time. Moe did his best to keep the sawdust down and under control. I am very satisfied with the work and the quality of the wood material used. I highly recommend Renew Stairs!

    Stairs - disappointed

    Based on all the positive reviews, I expected a much better job than what I received. I was initially disappointed when Moe provided us with the quote. We specified that we needed to replace the stairs as well as the nosing. Moe sent us a quote for the whole job, and then when he came to the house to close the deal, he added an additional $900 for the nosing. I chalked this up to my misunderstanding and still hired him based on the positive reviews. Although he finished the work in the time allotted, the final product was very poorly done. The stairs were not fully stained; he left gaps where the bare wood is exposed. Also, where the spindles were re-installed, he (his worker) didn't bother to fill in the nail holes - leaving fragments of the nails exposed. Moe didn't actually do the bulk of the installation - his worker (Quinn) did. I had to ask him to please cover the obvious gaps. He did ... reluctantly. I don't care about the mess (complete with empty Tim Hortons cups) they left behind. I do care about all the patch work they left for us to do. His prices would be reasonable if he finished the job right. In our case at least, he didn't seem to care. The only reason I'm writing this review, is because I've been spending my day on touching up the mistakes, and feel others should know that his reviews don't really reflect the quality of all his work. Moe may be a nice man, but he did a very poor job for us. I can't recommend him at all.

    I was surprised and upset to read this review. I take customer satisfaction very seriously and when we left this job I double checked with Tony and his wife that they were happy and they said yes. I'd like to address some of the points about this job. We all try to save time and cost using email communication, but it does not mean everything is there to be able to price it 100% right. I did say in my email to you with the estimate that I had to check the measurement of the nosing and couldn't price it and then I listed one price for just the stair and a separate price for the painting, I'm sorry if there was a misunderstanding. You decided not to have me do the painting in order to save money on my suggestion, most people like to do that and that's fine. Being pregnant your wife had health concerns with the stain and I worked very hard to ensure everything we used was waterbased with the colour you wanted, no staining was done at your house and I timed the stair replacement to be conscious of her safety. You also inspected every stair before it was installed. I took all the garbage to the dump at no charge as a courtesy to you. I also came by a week after the job and asked again if your wife was happy and she said yes. I believe we did a beautiful job with your new stairs, but if you had any issue you should have told me instead of just posting this review. I always work to keep my customers happy in any circumstances. HomeStars doesn't allow photos in responses to reviews so I have put the photos of the job in with my other photos on my page.     I recently had my stairs refinished with Moe .The work was completed on time and in a professional manner.My wife and I are very pleased with the results and would recommend him.

    Stair rail staining

    I am very pleased with the staining that Moe did on my stair rails, shoes, and posts. He is a very dependable,professional, and attentive crafts man. I got his number from the homestars website and found that he was totally true to the positive reviews that I read. I called just one week before the holiday (delayed because I was waiting to hear from other contractors who did not come through with even a return call) with the hope that he could fit our job in before we hosted holiday parties and to my surprise he made it happen. On top of all this,he is also a pleasant, sociable and decent man. I will recommend him to any and everybody.
