Raccoons left fleas which then inhabited a new puppy and the whole house. Orkin did little to solve the problem,and when we asked for further help, they didnt respond. This is a rip off organization. We foolishly didnt read the reviews, probably because we were desperate. Dont make the same mistake.

My carpet was infested by larvae and carpet mites due to old carpets in a shabri building . The carpets are from the 70s . When shabri had you come in your company said I had no carpet beetles. Hahaha. That is because I removed the carpets .. it's the larvae that was the huge problem. When I was cleaning up the mess they attached to my clothing and into my hands. Educate yourselves. And I want you to make sure my apartment is treated and have shabri replace the floor. 312a Scott Street Apt 312 st. Catharines

We still had bed bugs after 2 treatments and purchasing their mattress cover. We complained and had a third treatment. We caught 14 tonight one year after their first treatment.

Orkin came in and put some mouse traps. They charged me left. Warranty says 3 months so they can come back for a follow up visit. I realize after they left, I did not receive a receipt. I call multiple time and I have not received a receipt. Every time they say will email to me and still waiting for this receipt. I should have read the reviews here before scheduling something with Orkin.

We called Orkin to deal with an elder bug problem. We were clear on the phone that the elder bugs were in the house, not outside (it was December / January so this should have been pretty obvious but regardless). They said there was a spray they could use but it would require us to be out of the house for 4 hours at least. We have young kids so this wasn't easy but we found a way to do it. The guy that showed up seemed nice enough and asked that we pay the $400 charge up front (should have been a red flag but we paid it anyways). He then proceeded to tell us that the spray would probably stain our cabinets and is really only meant to be used outside. We obviously told him we didn't want that and asked why they didn't tell us this before showing up. He then said he needed to call his head office - after getting off the phone with them he told us there was a powder that he could put behind our pot lights in the kitchen that would be able to help and wouldn't cause any damage. At this point we were I guess willing to have anything to help with this problem so said sure. We did a few other things around the house and when we came back to check on how things were going, not only had he put this powder behind the pot lights but he had also put a whole bunch on top of our kitchen cabinets! It's hard to describe but there's about a half inch gap right above the cabinets and he shoved a whole bunch of this powder in there. He did a hugely messy job of it and it fell all over our countertops, oven, floor, drawers, etc. After getting a bunch of wipes and helping this guy clean it, I realized how much he put up there. He basically filled this tiny gap to the point that every time you open a cabinet or even just as people move about the house a bit of this powder falls into whatever we're cooking / prepping in the kitchen. I've spent hours vacuuming this crap back up so its not falling in our food or on our counters, and of course it hasn't stopped the elder bugs in any meaningful way. I called the company and complained after he left and spoke to a manager. They weren't willing to refund us even though they didn't even use the spray they said they were going to and they made this huge mess. Oh and of course this powder didn't require anyone to leave the house so we made arrangements to get 3 young kids out of here for no reason apparently. Don't use this company unless you want to add vacuuming a bunch of toxic powder to your to do list in addition to squishing whatever bugs may be lurking around.

Initially, orkin was good to identify a problem of squirrels in my attic. They came put a one trap door and said this should get rid of squirrels. A month later still have a squirrel living in my attic and scratching all night long so Im not getting any sleep. I spoke to a manager at orkin that said he will take care of them and had to follow up just to be told that it will take another few days for someone to get back to me. So still a waiting game. Why should they care they are not the ones with squirrel not letting them sleep.

I hired Orkin in late July when we found just a few mouse droppings. All they have done is come every 2 weeks and change the bait into the traps. Impossible to get them to call back. We've tried. Problem is worse now. I asked to speak to manager. No call back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I'm writing this a year and half after our treatment by Orkin for bed bugs in our apartment. We had struggled with getting rid of bed bugs with other exterminators. They continued to somehow come back. We were never "infested" but we certainly were getting bitten and it was a horrible experience. Our exterminator Dean was absolutely fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and thorough in his approach. He also was able to help communicate to our property "management" company that having a third extermination was NOT due to our lack of preparedness for the previous exterminations (they were trying to get us to pay for this one). I apologize that I left it this long to get a review up and would have done it right away but obviously after having the bugs return 6 months later after previous exterminations (not Dean/Orkin), I wanted to make sure I wrote an accurate review. Hire these guys - and get Dean if you can.

I first called ORKIN Canada last fall because we had a problem with squirrels in our attic. First they sent the wrong technician who didn't have the materials or the expertise to deal with our problem (though he was very polite and apologetic). The next technician no-showed twice and then came on a day and at a time when he didn't say he would come. Fast forward several months of unreturned phone calls and lack of follow-through from ORKIN, and I find out, from another pest control company, that we are now in a 6-month time-window during which squirrels are protected and require special permits and skills to be humanly removed. So now I have to wait until next fall to have this situation resolved. Look elsewhere for your pest control needs, my experience with ORKIN Coquitlam is that they are unreliable, dishonest and unethical.

We initially hired Orkin Canada to come and do an inspection for bed bugs and they claimed to have seen an infestation in our sofa. This was after I told them that’s where I was bit. Then we decided to go with another company for a treatment based on their great home stars review and reasonable prices. This other company came to our home today (Nov 20,2021) and started with an inspection and found absolutely no evidence of any bed bug activity. The “infestation” that Orkin observed turned out to be just some dried up food. The other company did a very thorough inspection flipping over all the sofas (unlike Orkin) and confirmed no bed bug activity anywhere. I don’t recommend hiring Orkin. In my opinion they are a dishonest company that is just trying to make a quick buck off of people’s fears.
