Alex and team replaced the knob and tube wiring in our 1925 house in December 2020 (I'm very late in writing this review). They did an excellent job -- they arrived every day at 8 a.m., and came each weekday until the job was done (9 days). It was not an easy job -- the wiring was difficult to feed through some of the walls (narrow spaces and insulation), but Alex was still careful and made minimal holes in the plaster. The plasterer who came to cover the holes (we have plaster and lathe walls) remarked that the holes were unusually tidy and easy to fix. Highly recommended.

Alex and his team did an amazing job with updating my home wiring from knob and tube, plus updating old pot lights. From day one Alex was on time, professional and accessible for any questions I had. He completed the work extremely quickly, made very few holes in the house, and left the house clean once the work was done. What else could you ask for! I would highly recommend using Mapleleaf Electric.

My wife and I moved into my grandmother's former home in Toronto. We knew right away one of the biggest things we needed to do was a complete overhaul of the electrical system, as it needed to be updated from knob and tube and an upgrade to the system to a 200amp service. We found Alex and his team after doing a lot of research and couldn't be happier with the job they did. Alex was extremely knowledgable and thorough. He walked with us through our different options and was very patient with my wife and I as we would always decide on more outlets, switches, etc. He was also very detailed and kept meticulous records of our requests which he printed and taped on the walls in each room to ensure the job was done to our satisfaction. We worked in the area so we would often drop by the home when Alex and his team were working on the job. All of his employees are knowledgable and do a great job. We wanted to preserve a lot of character elements in the home, and were so impressed with how the guys could wire the home and remove the old wiring with such little damage to the walls and ceilings. We had a question a year after Alex and his team completed the job and we texted him and he was very fast to respond. He came out that day to explain the issue and provide a solution. All in all, we are very impressed and happy to have chosen Maple Leaf Electric for our home electrical needs!

Mapleleaf provided a quote in advance of the work to be completed and there were no additional charges. Malpleleaf is knowledgeable about knob and tube replacement and the work was planned to limit the number of 'holes' in the ceilings and the walls. The team was reliable, e.g., they arrived at the agreed upon time every day. Given that the work was completed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the team maintained social distancing and wore masks.

My wife and I are thrilled with the work that Alex and his team did! It was a big job that included: removing knob and tube wiring and replacing it, installing 10 pot lights in the dining room and living room, putting in multiple dimmer switches, installing new track lighting in the kitchen, and a new chandelier and the guys were great about all of it. Initially he estimated it would take 5-7 days, they did it in four and a half. Alex was prepared for the little changes we asked for throughout the job (different fixture here, more dimmer switches than originally estimated, etc) and everyone was clear in communicating what they will be doing that day, what they did, and what they’ll be doing the next day. As new homeowners this was a first big job to have done, and it could not have gone any better. I would recommend Mapleleaf Electric without hesitation.

Alex, Fidel and Anthony showed up @ 08:00 each day and stayed with the job until completed (unlike other contractors that I've had that flit from job to job). They have a unique method of fishing wires through the walls that keeps wall and ceiling damage to a minimum. They were polite, respectful and cleaned up each afternoon. As with any job of this kind there were cost overages but they were minimal. Well done Mapleleaf Electric.

We didn’t have enough room on our panel so Alex replaced it with a larger one in a complex space. He was professional and finished the work when he said he would. Excellent service and really cares about getting things done to a high standard.

Alex and his crew were quick, flexible in their timing, and absolute pros when it came to removing knob and tube from my house. When I brought the place, I knew a significant knob and tube remediation project was needed. The first quote I received from a competitor came in higher than expected. But Alex hit the nail on the head in terms of both quality and price point. He stuck to his quote. His crew left the house very clean in the evenings. The project ended up taking only 2 days compared to the projected 3 days. Highly recommended.

Alex and his team performed a great job! He was prepared and started right away and came early to prep. The panel was upgraded as expected, the new lines were run, everything was tested and panel was labelled accordingly. He even fixed my porch light which was not working for a while (it ended up being a contact issue) but I appreciate the fact that he spent some time to look into it after everything else was completed. I would definitely call these guys again if I need some electrical work done in my house and would recommend them to others.

Removed knob and tube, upgraded receptacles and switches, installed lights and pot lights. We were impressed - they were fast, fair, safety focussed and no surprises. Definitely would recommend.
