I've replaced the trap and breather for the storm water and sanitary pipes outside, installed a back flow valve, and replaced all of my drain pipes in the basement with these guys. That's right, all of my drain pipes, all 42'! This was a newly renovated house that I had just bought in the leslieville area. These guys were there every step of the way and ensured that I was informed of what the problems were, the kind of work that was going to happen, and how much it would cost me. They finished the work within the timeline given to me. They were clear every step of the way and didn't mind me watching and asking questions. This whole process was definitely a roller coaster ride and they stuck with me all the way through. Thank you to Natasha, Leizl, Ali, Victor and Michael for all of your hard work! So what happened?
I had gotten a highly recommended home inspector by home stars to look at a home I was buying. He said everything looks good except some minor things here and there. What he didn't do though, was look at the drainage pipes below. I wish I had someone to pass a camera through the drains before buying a home. Boy, that would have saved me a ton of money, energy, time and tears!
My drain started to back up and so I called waterworks because of their amazing reputation. I didn't want to mess around with this! Natasha and Leizl always kept me updated with when Ali was going to show up at my door. He and Michael had passed a camera through the clean out at the front and found that the clay pipes had collapsed. They were very clear in regards to the cost and were happy to show me what they have discovered every step of the way. They also pointed out that the drains connected to the washer were not installed properly. They did the work within a day (exactly what they estimated). They installed a new trap and breather and backflow valve outside and did some work on the drain pipes by the washer.
I turned on the washer and the water backed up again, so I called them back and they came the next morning. They took off the toilet and passed a camera through showing that there was a clog. So they started to snake the line but something wasn't adding up. Luckily at this point in time, the front was still dug up because the city inspector was coming to have a look at the back flow valve. The snake didn't appear in the drain pipe outside. So where was it going? The drain pipe was connected to the storm water drain. So I had to install a trap and breather for the storm pipe and reconnect the bathroom and washer pipes to the sanitary drain pipes. They took off my laminate floors, and dug into the cement. Sure enough, the bathroom pipes were connected to the storm pipes. They did all the work within 2 days.
A few days later, the toilet wasn't draining, and thought it was a simple clog. I got my plunger and auger out but it didn't seem like a clog, everything showed up clean. So I called them back in a panic. They sent Ali right away. It was late in the afternoon and Ali had first thought the same thing, that the toilet was clogged, but it wasn't. He stayed until the bitter end to figure out what was wrong. He fed his camera and his snake through and discovered that the drain pipes beyond where they had done their work was backing up. I needed some time to digest! The next morning, Michael had come to have a second look with me. Ali was right, the drains were blocked and backing up. I had to replace the remainder of the drains in the basement. Another 21'! They did it within 2 days.
At least I can sleep at night knowing that all of my drain pipes are working now.
