    Thorough and responsive, but expensive

    Summary: NCM did an initial deep clean of our apartment. The cleaners did an excellent job and I am 100% satisfied with how clean it is now. It cost more than double the estimate. I was disappointed when they shamed me about the state of the apartment in the course of explaining the cost overrun. My roommate and I engaged NCM to deep clean our apartment (a large 2-bedroom unit with 1.5 bathrooms). We have lived there for 7 years and never had it deep cleaned, so it was time. NCM was very responsive when I contacted them for an estimate, and offer to send a 2-person cleaning team, at $30/hour/person, quoting $150-165+HST for the initial clean -- much cheaper than I was willing to pay. When we agreed to proceed, NCM quickly booked us an appointment that week. The date they picked didn't work so they promptly rescheduled it to a convenient date. I filled out a questionnaire about what work was required, and NCM revised its estimate to $237 (presumably because I asked that the oven and fridge be cleaned too). The cleaners were scheduled to arrive at 12:30pm but got there late for reasons that were probably out of their control. Luckily the superintendent was able to let them in. They stayed until 5 but advised that they were only able to clean the bathrooms, bedrooms and start the kitchen, but unable to get to the living room or fridge. For the 3.5 hours (x2 people), it was $237. I got home, checked out the work, and was generally happy, so I asked them to return to complete it when they were available; however, I pointed out a couple areas that they missed and I was assured that they would be fixed when the crew came back. NCM estimated that it would cost another $120-150 to complete, and said this was because the apartment was "cluttered", and parts of the bathrooms "needed a lot of scrubbing", etc. (They previously said that they spent time removing the garbage from each room, but this was an error because I removed the garbage ahead of time.) I would have been happier if they simply said that there was more work than anticipated, as I felt that the explanation shamed me. I get that it's unclean; if it weren't, I wouldn't be paying for a deep clean! The next morning, NCM called me to advise that they would be able to have the crew attend that afternoon, which was sooner than expected. To save costs, I asked them to ignore the fridge. At the reattendance, they thoroughly cleaned the kitchen and living room and fixed the couple spots that they missed the first time. It cost $203, and I'm not sure (notwithstanding the website's satisfaction guarantee) whether or not I was charged for time spent on the parts I expressed dissatisfaction with. The apartment is now spotless, and I am very happy with how great it looks! I note, however, that it cost well over double the estimate. I have reviewed other reviews of NCM and I see that whenever someone posts something negative, NCM describes how gross their living space was (in one review, shockingly, pointing out that the customer didn't tip!). I hate this. No one is paying for a cleaning service to shame them about mess. I get that my apartment was a bigger job than they anticipated from the webform I filled out, but I filled it out honestly, describing the size of the unit, the number of rooms, and the last time it was cleaned. Maybe the form needs more options. I think that NCM could do a better job giving estimates, e.g., giving a bigger range and not underestimating time so that the ultimate cost is less surprising. I hope this review is not met with a response that shames me about the mess of my apartment. Again, I get it; but I never downplayed the mess.

You are correct in adding the inside of the appliances as being extra because it does take time to clean out. When you had filled out the online form we did see that you had answered that your home was not cleaned in over 6 months and was messy - you say that it has been 7 years - cleaning takes time and to do a great job the crew needed that time given.     Thorough and Swift Cleaning

    Cleaners arrived ahead of schedule, and finished in less than the estimate of 2-2.5 hours. I was only charged for the actual work time of 1.75 hours x 2 cleaners. They were very thorough, I was shocked at how spotless the place was in such a short amount of time. Very satisfied.

    Move In Cleaning

    Averall very sutisfied with quality of services provided within given time frame. Two people crew were dynamic,efficient and professional. I would recommend Sandra and Marina to others seeking move in/ move out cleaning services.

    First time cleaning

    While away on a skiing vacation I had a slip and broke my leg which would mean that I would need help around my house for a few weeks. I had researched New Century Maids and decided that this was the company that I would hire.The quality and attention to all details was excellent. The crew that arrived at my initial cleaning did a great job. Each time a crew would arrive at my home they worked very hard and cleaned everything just the way I like it. Needless to say after my cast came off I have stayed with New Century Maids because they really are the best I trust them with my home even when I am not there.I recommend NCM to everyone I meet. Great service.

    move in cleaning

    Just as dirty when they left as it was when they walked in..... I hired New Century Maids to clean a condo I was moving into. I wanted to move in to a clean home, which unfortunately was jot the case. Prior to the cleaning team coming in, there was dirt and hairs in the fridge, stove covered in dust, toothpaste residue of the bathroom mirrors, and soap scum all over the 2 showers, and each shower had a used soap bar laying around. I had the cleaners go in the next day, 2 ladies 3.5hrs. The company called me while cleaners were there and they said they weren't done and needed another hour. I gladly approved the time, because what was most important to me was that I moved in to a clean home. My husband went to see the space after the crew left and he thought it looked good in the dim lighting. I wrote the team an email to thank then for their service. Unfortunately, I wrote that email too soon. When we moved in a few days later, I walked into the bathroom and noticed the toothpaste residue. Looked over and saw empty toilet paper roll, then I opened the fridge and there was the dirt and hairs, stove still covered in dust and the bathrooms were covered in soap scum and the dirty soap bars were still there. When I called in they were not helpful. So I sent pictures of the dirty areas. They replied to the email today "we'll pay close attention to those areas next time". That doesn't resolve the fact that I spent over $300 and it felt like nothing was done. Doesn't change the fact that instead of unpacking and Moving into my new home, I need to spend several hours cleaning all the missed areas.

    We have tried to find your file in our system but could not - your feedback is appreciated so that we know where our crews need to improve - please understand that if our crew needed more time this means that the condo needed a very deep cleaning - it is very common that people do not take care of their units and when we come in to do a move in cleaning it is hard work to clean out all the previous grime and dirt and may take another cleaning to get it perfect.     House Cleaning

    My wife and I rent a 4 story townhouse in Summerhill. We've been using New Century Maids since we moved in three years ago, and are very happy with them; a crew of two comes to our house; they arrive on time, and clean the whole townhouse in 2 hours 45 minutes. They definitely go the extra mile to ensure satisfaction, especially Kamila. I give New Century Maids my highest recommendation!

    First Time Cleaning

    The initial clean was very detailed and thorough. House was sparkling and clean after the maids were done. Impressed.

    House deep cleaning

    The house hasn't looked this great in quite a while! Sierra came in and deep an amazing deep cleaning (she even took the shower caddy out and scrubbed it!). Bookshelves dusted, floor spotless. Great overall,W

    Regular Cleaning Services

    It is such a huge help to have someone help keep the house clean. We really enjoy coming home to a clean house every two weeks and it obviously gives us more time to focus on other things and activities rather than committing to a whole weekend of scrubbing washrooms. Not only that but the attention to detail is what really matters. My son is always delighted to find his stuffed animals preciously placed on his pillow. Estela and Sandra are wonderful and I think my cat even looks forward to their visits! I honestly wouldn't change a thing - I only hope that the quality of service continues!
