I found Richard through Homestars. Because of the great reviews I had called him to come in for general maintenance and to check our 20 year old furnace. He responded to my enquiry even while he was on holiday to make sure it was not an urgent problem....amazing. We had an issue with our furnace in the past 2 years but never really investigated further. When Richard came to check he found some serious rust and was worried about my two little kids in the house with the emissions and recommended a new furnace. He did not pressure me to use CoreTemp. He explained the issues, the furnace he would recommend and was very detailed in all his recommendations. I called two other well rated companies (through homestars) and got quotes for a new furnace. All were very good and professional - but in the end we went with Richard because he was very approachable, conscientious, explained his recommendations, and even though he was MORE expensive than the other companies, we trusted his recommendation and felt that he took a lot of pride in his work and wanted to give us the RIGHT furnace for our needs. He accidentally forgot to quote the water pump/condensor unit but did not charge me extra because he said it was his mistake (very good of him). He also installed a humidifier and to comment on the work: Richard and his assistant were on time, conscientious of the kids' nap time, adjustments to the duct-work was done well, workmanship was great, cleaned up after themselves and any additional follow up questions were answered promptly by Richard or Janice. Best of all - we noticed a marked difference and improvement to our airflow and heating in our house. All in all - very very happy with Richard and his team and we know that if we ever need him - he would answer his phone - or even call us back during his holiday :) . I would definitely recommend CoreTemp. Small company but big on service and great at what they do. Thanks.

Richard came to give us a quote and was very friendly and informative without being pushy. we hired him to install an air conditioner which works like a charm. We had an issue with the thermostat he installed and called him up and he came promptly to replace it. Great service. Recommended

Richard replaced my furnance last fall. He came promptly, gave me options and after researching we took his advise. The furnace has been great - no issues and we've been glad to have Richard and his team back to maintain it. When the furnace was being installed I asked for a quote on a tankless water heater. Richard took a look and advised that given the damage to the finished basement that would be required to properly vent it, we not proceed. I trust the service and advice I get when I call. Service appointments are made easily via email and Richard made the emergency call to my home within hours. They arrive when they say they will and work quickly and efficiently. I trust the products and services Richard and CoreTemp offer and more than that I enjoy welcoming them into my home. My a/c unit is almost at end of life and I'll call CoreTemp when it needs to be replaced.

Richard came by to install a humidifier that we felt we needed. Upon seeing the furnace room area, we were advised by Richard that, despite being able to install it, he believed we wouldn't be happy with the results. He could have easily installed it and taken our money, where we'd be none the wiser, but he made it clear why it wouldn't work as it was designed to do and was kind enough to give us alternatives and tips. Sure we were disappointed that our set up wasn't ideal for getting a humidifier, but we were thrilled with the service, the advice and the professionalism. We will absolutely use CoreTemp for any future heating or air conditioning needs.

i had just listed my home for sale in August when 2 weeks into the listing, clunk... my a/c unit stopped work. Cheap unit installed by the builder....piece of junk really. house is only 7 years old. Anyways, looked on homestars for reviews and found coretemp heating and air......phoned and spoke to the owner Richard. He answered the phone right away. I informed him the problem I was having. He was so busy at this time of year, however squeezed me into his tight schedule to assess the situation. He and Eric came out, tested the a/c unit and unfortuneately it needed to be replaced. I liked the fact that he was forthright and honest and an all around good guy, down to earth. i consented to order the new unit and he came out a few days later and replaced the unit with Eric's help in the rain. I wish to thank you , Richard for all your hard work. Thank you Eric as well. Thank you Janice too for sending me all the quotes and emails confirming dates for the work to be done. I would highly recommend this business . I would sing it's praises from the rooftops in the rain... :)

In the heat spell, Richard fit me in his tight schedule and made a quick response visit, and identified that I needed a new thermostat.( not a new furnace as some other contractors might have claimed) He was polite and efficient and completed the job effectively and efficiently

I happened to run into Richard today after hearing a friendly "good mroning" coming from the direction of my new neighours driveway. They are putting in a new AC unit since the existing one is on its last legs. I met my new neighours on Sept 1 when they took possesion of their new home. While getting to know each other they did let me know that they would have contractors in for the next couple of weeks doing some renovations etc. including replacing the AC unit. "We went with the best review on Home Stars" they explained. Now I know why Richard and Coretemp have all these great reviews. My AC unit conincidentally stopped worked this long weekend. I asked Richard if he could come over and have a look to see what the issue could be. Richard came over about 5 minutes later tool bag in hand and within 10 minutes figured out the issue. Richard actually walked me through the issue showing me the faulty part and the cause of the issue. The part was the contactor which he had in his van. All was up and running shortly there after. Absolutely great service, professionally handled and ensured I new exactly what the issue was. I rarely do get wowed by service levels but needed to let Home Stars readers know that I would recommend Richard and Coretemp for your AC or Heating needs.

I bought a re-sale house in Feb. In June, when the temp hit 35 degrees, I was dissappointed to find out that my AC was busted! The house was only 6 years old! Needless to say, I saw all the positive reviews about Richard Payer and Coretemp. I called him up and he agreed to come the next day! He told me I did not need to replace the AC and that he only needed to replace the capacitor! He had it working in no time! About 8 hours later in the evening, I noticed there was a leak downstairs in the basement. I called Richard the same evening to explain the situation. Richard said not to worry and that he would come first thing in the morning at 8 am to look at it! Richard, true to his word, rang my doorbell right at 8 am and fixed the problem in 5 min! What great service! I would highly recommend Richard!

Richard and his team were exceptional. Fast, smart, kind, and extremely professional. They gave me the estimate on the spot on a Tuesday morning and by Thursday afternoon the new system was installed! I was also very impressed with Janice who answered our emails promptly and with much courtesy. Thanks so much to the CoreTemp Team. I highly recommend them to all.

I highly recommend Coretemp. Richard Payer is professional, reliable and knowledgeable. He and his staff respond to requests in a very timely manner and always follow through. I will happily continue working with Coretemp as needed and have my service calls performed by them. In a world full of bad customer service experiences, Coretemp is a pleasure to work with.
