    gate & fence reconstruction

Rob was great. He conceptualized the project from drawings and got the work done in a timely fashion. He is very good with details and special effects. Would recommend him in a flash.

    Front Porch

We needed to replace our front porch, which is roughly 8 X 8 foot. Rob came by to have a look and provided an estimate the next week. He was quite helpful with suggestions and designed the porch to suit our needs. After we signed the contract, he advised us that he could start the job sooner than expected so he arrived when he said he would and finished the job on time. After completing the tear-down he advised us he could retain the framing which would save us some money and offered to add a second railing for the stairs based on the price quoted for only one. The quality of the work was excellent and Rob dropped by weeks later to make sure everything was okay. He recommended a stain to use on the wood and offered to drop off a colour chart and brochure on this product. Overall we were very pleased with the work Rob did and will definitely use him again for other projects.

major renovation including kitchen and bathroom due to water damage

I hired Rob to replace my deck and windows that were rotting. The deck is beautiful. When Rob started to take out the windows, water damage was visible. I had instructed Rob to further explore the extent of the damage and what we found was devastating. The insulation was black and the rot in the framing was extensive. The wood was so spongy a pencil could go right through. The damage had spread to the whole left side of my 11 year old house. Rob and John and the rest of the crew took out my kitchen and patiently removed my granite counter tops and backsplash so that it could be reused. They also removed plaster crown moldings from my dining room and were able to salvage and restore these as well. Each floor had to be jacked up, framing removed and replaced, drywalled and painted. This certainly was a nightmare, but Rob and John were so professional, clean and skilled, that even while living through this renovation, they made it as easy as possible.

    Front Porch

We would highly recommend the services of Robert Morrell. We were fortunate to work with Robert on our front porch renovation in 2007. The project involved building a new porch, including roofing, decking, electrical work and all finishes. Robert was dedicated to the project, often starting early in the morning working straight through dusk, which was highly appreciated particularly since he had to commute to and from Barrie. Robert was forthright and took great pride in his work. He was a valuable resource in discussing project details, options, soucing materials, and general matters related to construction. Further, he returned in the early spring to check the work and to review any weather damage. Robert is an experienced carpenter and contractor, whose years of experience are evident both in the quality of his workmanship and in his professionalism. We would gladly use Robert on future projects and have no reservations about recommending him for any home renovation.

    Deck

The results (see photos) speak for themselves. My wife and I could not be more pleased! Rob was very accomodating to several mid project design changes. His craftsmanship and attention to detail, especially the 100 year old stain glass windows, was much appreciated. I would reccomend him without hesitation.

    Major Bedroom Renovation

Our home is almost 100 years old. When we decided to convert two small bedrooms into the master bedroom we long dreamed of, we obtained 4 estimates from well established contractors. Because of the age of our home, this was no small job. Having had bad experiences in the past we were determined to find a professional we could trust. Although all the contractors appeared competent and professional, it was obvious to my wife and me that Rob Morrell was the man in whom we felt the most confident to deliver what he promised. From stripping the walls and ceilings to the joists, to updating wiring and insulation, to designing and installing oak closets to the finishing touches, everything was perfect. We could not be happier and would gladly engage Rob's services in the future.

    Front porch stairs in 2006

No job is too small for Rob Morrell. He tackled the sagging cement stairs of my front porch after a TV Personality Guy had turned it down for being too insignificant. Old concrete steps were broken down, removed and cartered away smartly. A concrete base was laid on the ground and new wooden stairs with classic post and railing were built in their place. Bob knows a lot about wood and uses only the best quality. He also instructs his clients how to care for the materials and maintain them - This, in our climate, is essential. I will gladly entrust him with any further work around my house.

We feel that this basement renovation added value to our home and is was a much used environment. Thanks to Bob professional input and experience, my husband had the theater room that he anticipated.

    Window Trim

Carmor Construction Co. and BBG Capentry worked together, and both Rob and John were excellent. They did a wonderful job matching some existing (90 year old) window trim on three of our windows. They showed up when they said they would, and finished the job in a very reasonable amount of time. I would recommend both of them, and will definitely use them again!
