Load Bearing Wall Removal
I could not be happier with the work and professionalism of Paul and his team. From our first meeting when he came to inspect the work site I felt comfortable with Paul's knowledge, abilities, and calm demeanor. The job was finished slightly ahead of schedule at the price I was quoted. Paul and his team are competent, skilled, hard working individuals who were a pleasure to deal with. They made us feel comfortable about the work being done and took care to clean up each day. Renovations are a stressful time and I'm glad that I was able to find a reliable and capable team to complete this portion of the work. I would not hesitate for one second to hire Paul again in the future based on my very positive experience, and would feel comfortable recommending him to anyone. I cannot say enough good things about both their terrific work and professionalism. The reason I feel so positively about PauI and his team is because I have dealt with another individual as part of my overall renovation project who I very much regret hiring. As such, when you encounter a group of professionals like this one you feel both lucky and a great sense of relief. Which is why I appreciate giving them the credit they're due.

deck framing
Paul and his team did it again! From our full re-build in 2012, to our 3rd floor deck and now this year the backyard deck-lounge which was featured in the National Post Home this summer. As a home owner passionate about design and construction Paul and his crew have been a pivotal part of our success during these stages. Paul's positive mindset - you get solutions that produce results without compromise... Paul is a calm person and truly knows how to keep the project moving without creating more stress...you may expect stress during a renovation ... PTR carpentry is not the team to create it... they will manage your plans and reassure you along the way! I would wait for PTR to be part of my next build because I trust Paul Richardson.

Framing of New Custom Home
From the initial meet to project completion, Paul and his crew continuously exceeded our expectations. As novice home builders, Paul walked us through each step of the construction phase by providing valuable advice and co-ordinating work with other trades. The craftsmanship was impeccable, leaving neighbours in awe of the design abilities (just view his facebook page and look at the pictures.) Many times we were stressed with choices, but Paul's recommendations have put us at ease. Paul and his crew are very easy to communicate with, have met all timelines, cleaned up daily, and completed work within budget. We are very grateful that PTR Carpentry built the bones of our house. Thanks Paul and crew!!

Leveling of 2nd and 3rd floors
I cannot give enough praise for the incredible work that Paul and his crew at PTR did on the large and complicated job at my home. Tasked with job of leveling the floors on the second and third floor of a hundred year old house, PTR removed 7 layers of built up flooring down to the joists, sistered new joists to the existing ones and installed a new laser leveled subfloor perfectly. This huge task took exactly 8 days from start to finish (just as Paul had estimated!) and included a careful cleanup of the site by his crew (scrubbing walls, sweeping and vacuuming). All of this despite surprises along the way including possible asbestos, a nest of carpenter ants and surprising lack of proper joists in one room (the floor had been held up by old radiator pipes!). With each challenge PTR came up with practical and safe solutions, proceeded calmly and reliably, and did not take advantage of the situation to gouge me for extra money. This honesty and high level of integrity is everything anyone wants. In short, choose PTR for: - doing it right - doing it on time - doing it completely - doing it on budget - cleaning up - remaining positive and solution-focussed - working safely - having honesty and integrity Thanks again Paul and PTR!

Framing a House & Addition
I found Paul on Home Stars and have now worked with him on a few projects. He is dependable, thoughtful, pays attention to detail. He raises issues that need to be resolved before its too late. He and his team are quick, they clean up after themselves and are a pleasure to do work with. I will continue to use Paul on my future projects and highly recommend them.

removal of stucco and exterior wall
We hired Paul to remove the stucco and sheathing from two exterior walls and install new plywood. The job was relatively small, but this was not an issue for Paul. He works quickly, efficiently and in only a day and half, the work was done. He work is first class and he is very pleasant to work with. We highly recommend PTR Carpentry.

Frame our Basement
Emailed Paul based on the reviews on Home Stars, a floor plan of the framing of our basement. Paul reached back to me with a quote and we firmed up a date. The job was done with quality workmanship, on time and cleanup afterwards was exceptional. i would use and recomend Paul and his team for all future projects.

Operation Rooftop Deck
So when we first purchased our house we had an old rooftop deck with leaking roof and french doors to match! I replaced the roof and the french doors and that is how is stayed for 7 years. My wife's birthday was coming up and I heard great things about Paul and his crew; so I decided that a great birthday present is to have a professional, personable, and honest carpenter and crew come a build a brand new rooftop deck. They were great, I will be calling PTR Carpentry again to do a job my wife is drawing up now, and my family has been living on the rooftop deck since it has be completed. I look forward to working with Paul again.

Floor Leveling
Once again Paul and the awesome crew from PTR did a fantastic job for us. Paul not only works for you he works with you, any changes along the way were no problem for Paul. He is a master in his field of carpentry, providing the best solutions for a secure and level structure. If your doing renovations take great care in assessing the structure which all your finishes will sit on. I strongly encourage everyone to follow PTR on Facebook and see job by job the great work they do. Thanks again Paul and the great guys from PTR!!! So one morning during the work I slept in (Paul starts right on time, 8am, all the time) by 920 I went to check on things, Paul had gone to pick up lumber. The old structure Paul had uncovered was under sized and without question new lumber was installed giving us a strong and safe floor. This is the kind of work you get with Paul, ABOVE AND BEYOND!

Stairs
If your reading this now STOP, and just call Paul. There's no more research to do, no more worries about a contractors honesty or experience as you've found the best, put your mind at ease and leave your home in Paul's hands. I was lucky enough to find PTR here on Homestars and could not be happier. He is busy, because the good guys always are, so make sure your calling now. You can find pics of all his amazing work on Facebook, and it's impressive. The communication with Paul is fantastic he knows his trade and how to approach every situation, and he's an all round great guy, with an amazing personality. I'm not sure how I would have found anyone to do this kind of quality work at very competitive prices. Thank you Paul and the great crew at PTR!!!
