    Home Renovation

Trent and his team renovated our home in Rosedale. They tore down a wall between the dining room and the kitchen, redid a bathroom, hardwood flooring, painting, electrical and plumbing. They were amazing! Trent was on the job site every day and his team consistently arrived at 8:00 am sharp. Trent was available all the time if we had questions or concerns. He always answered his phone when we called him and he provided us with much support during a very stressful time. Renovations are always difficult, but having someone like Trent and his team makes it much easier. We would confidently recommend Trent to anyone. He is professional, reliable, honest, and always exceeded our expectations. Truly a pleasure to work with!

    Attic and bedroom ceiling repair

We have an old house. Inconveniently, but not surprisingly, the ceiling in our guest bedroom started to sag. Originally it was just in one spot, and we put off doing anything about it. But shortly before we were to have overnight visitors we checked on the room only to see that a much larger and fast moving sag had emerged. We had hired Trent before with good results, so we called him and he found the problem (raccoons in the attic, plus a leaky roof). He and Jimmy were able to fix the attic and replace the old ceiling with new a new drywall ceiling while we had a roofer handle the roof. It was like a magic trick -- presto -- everything was repaired, repainted, and cleaned up good as new in time for our visitors. Trent and his team are reliable, tidy, respectful and we're always quick to recommend him to friends.

    Legal basement apartment

We started working with Trent soon after moving into our first home. Upon first contacting Trent, he quickly arranged to meet us to assess our basement project- the conversion of an old, dated basement into a fully legal rental suite. Trent took his time to fully understand the project at hand and asked many pertinent questions that we had not considered as first-time renovators. Trent's quote came in at the lowest cost compared to three other quotes we received. While one expects the unexpected when renovating, this project was plagued with problems due to our incredibly useless inspector and inefficiency at Toronto City Hall. Completing a legal basement apartment is extremely challenging, particularly with all these issues; however, Trent continuously fought for us throughout the entire 8 month ordeal. We always felt Trent was in our corner, representing our rights with the inspector, as well as acting as an advisor to us with the utmost honesty and integrity. Naturally, delays and plans changing result in more money and more time: however, we felt Trent tried to keep these extras down as we progressed. To conclude, issues are bound to come up when renovating and most of the issues that occurred during our project were beyond Trent's control. When these things happen, it is essential you are working with a contractor who is knowledgable, experienced and most importantly, honest. You will find all of these qualities with Trent and Trent Co. Construction. We were also extremely pleased with the quality of Trent's work and craftsmanship. Thanks so much for a job well done, Trent!

    back room renovation

Trent handled this complicated job well. It involved subcontractors and adjustments along the way as we encountered decisions we hadn't anticipated. He made sure we were happy with the work, and the technical side of the craftsmanship has been superb. I find it's always hard to communicate well with contractors -- the machismo and brashness can make it tricky to be heard (and that it's often even harder for my partner, who's female). Trent is a pretty good listener, and he makes the effort to sort things out if there have been misunderstandings along the way. And his rates are in line with the quotes we get from other contractors--in fact, they're usually a bit lower or around the average. So we keep hiring him!

    Window replacement

We had Trent replace all our second-floor windows last fall. Once again it was a worry-free experience; he was punctual, quick, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. The price was great, and the windows are a huge improvement -- the bedrooms were noticeably warmer over the winter, and we can get better breeze now that the weather is warm again. Another 10.

    Bathroom renovation

Trent worked with our designer to reno our bathroom. This involved taking out the old shower stall, moving the plumbing and enclosing it in glass with a half wall. We also had a new vanity, toilet and lights. As with when Trent did our kitchen we were pleased with the quality of work and care that Trent himself imparted on the job. When we ran into some trouble with the subcontractors, Trent worked to make sure everything was right in the end and our bathroom is now our favourite room in the house. If we were doing this project over, the change I would make is to give Trent and our designer the opportunity to sit down and discuss the plans in advance so that they could mutually point out potential issues prior to the start and so that everyone was on the same page. I should finish by re-iterating how much Trent really cares about the outcome of a job. He also helped out with a few minor issues after the fact, to make sure that we were (and we are) totally happy with the end product.

    Basement Reno

After being hit by the floods last year we worked with Trent and his team to renovate our basement. We extended the bathroom and the layout of the furnace/laundry room. Trent's original quoted price did not change (except where we made some changes to original plan). His team are hard working, polite and respectful of the house while they work in it. His tiling guys in particular were amazing. We now have a bathroom that gets gasps when people see the transformation.

    Basement Reno

After having Trent help with our bathroom Reno, we decided to get him to take on our basement. It was a big job and he made us feel taken care of the whole way through. The attention to detail is something that really stands out with Trent and his team. It was nice to know he had your project and family's best interest at heart. Our basement has become our favourite room in the house! We would definitely get Trent to help with future renovations.

    Main Floor Renos

We hired Trentco to remove the wood plate rail in our dining room, replace the textured wall and ceiling with drywall, and raise the bulkhead between our living and dining rooms by about a foot. From the initial quote right to the end of the job, Trent was such a pleasure to work with, extremely knowledgeable, and great at explaining/recommending the best course of action. His prices were very reasonable, and we did get several different quotes for this job. We have a house that’s almost 100 years old in East York, and Trent is familiar with older homes in this area, so he definitely understood the issues and concerns we have with our house. Both Trent and his employee/worker Jim were always on time, very friendly, left our home tidy (as tidy as can be expected with a messy job like drywalling!), and they did a fantastic job. We would recommend Trentco to our friends and family (in fact, we already have) – and we will be in touch with Trent for any future needs.

    Exterior stairs, fences, gate

Trentco has been good to work with, and Trent is now our first call when we need a general contractor. The quotes are usually a bit lower than the larger firms we've contacted, and the quality and follow-up are excellent. He's been helpful at solving problems and finding ways to make our design ideas work. We've had him do work with cedar, metal, and concrete. His employee (?) Jim shared the labour. Both of them are pleasant to have on-site, tidy, and good at communicating with those of us who don't speak contractor-talk.
