complete bathroom renovation & water system installation

The Operations Manager came to give me an estimate (I had 2 other estimates already done). I decided to give the jobs to Bosco. What a mistake. They sent a worker that was a nightmare, damaged my newly installed hardwood floors, damaged some of my walls and furniture too. I was the one that had to cover the floors (they did not). Work that was suppose to have taken 2-3wks took nearly 4 months. This was nearly 2 yrs ago. To date there is still a leak in the main valve that turns the water off from the Pressure tank into the house. Work that I was told would be done was not done, even to instal a toilet in another bathroom (which was part of the verbal agreement) I had to pay $85 plus txs to install. They convinced me to buy an Ecosystem water iron remover, now they don't even service the equipment and I didn't even get a manual. It was one nightmare after another. I tried numerous times to contact the operations manager but he never returned calls nor replied to messages sent. I contacted the owner who really did nothing about it and to date the issues are unresolved. So if you don't want a nightmare on your hands either don't get Bosco to do your work or make sure EVERYTHING (regardless of how minor) is written down and don't pay until it is all resolved. Otherwise you get what I got...'the short end of the stick'...hey who knows maybe The owner doesn't care to resolve the issues 'cause he figures I'm a woman so who cares. BE CAREFUL with them! If something goes wrong as it did here, well nothing gets resolved!

    Clear main sewer line blockage

We had a sewage backup in our house - as it turns out, tree roots had invaded our sewer line. Bosco had a technician at the house in less than 2 hours. He diagnosed the problem quickly but was unable to get the roots out because of the size of our pipes (it's an old home). Nonetheless, he was able to get things moving temporarily and saved us a flooding. Further work needed to be done to clear the roots more definitively. His proposal was in line with those of a couple other companies we consulted, but his price was much higher (over $1000 more). We were very pleased with the timeliness and his professionalism - price is really our only strike against them.

    Bosco Plumbing- Home Heating Service

Joe the service technician seemed to be on a mission to sell us a new furnace. He went straight for the heat exchanger, searched and found a problem. He wouldn't consider replacing the heat exhanger and only wanted to sale us a new furnace. He also refused to complete the job he was hired for (to clean the furnace) and charged us for cleaning it even when he refused too..

    Drain pipe repair

The elbow joint on our drain pipe in the kitchen sink was loose and consequently leaking. I tried to repair it myself but didn't do a great job of it. I called Bosco and they arrived on time and quickly fixed the problem. They also went a step further and installed shut-off valves in case of an emergency. The work was professionally done without issues. They are on the pricey side so you're local handy man may be cheaper, but here you're paying for the expert knowledge and availability.

    basement leak

returned from holiday on a weekend to find water in our basement. called on monday and they were able to send someone that day to diagnose the problem. the technician offered two solutions one of which was very expensive . we decided to opt for less expensive route first and they were able to schedule the work for the following day. they also referred a reputable restoration company for the water damage to our basement carpet. the waterproof work was completed on time in a professional manner followed by the carpet cleaning and restoration work. Within 5 days our basement was back to normal with no evidence of any leak!

    Minor toilet leak

Has a small leak underneath my toilet so I called Bosco plumbing as I was going away for the weekend and wanted the issue resolved for my family. Service man opened up by toilet and told me it was only my gasket and possibly the flange. He gives me a price of $522 plus taxes. I told him no thank you and to take the $50 dispatch fee for coming out. I told him that I was aware of the material costs and would only be prepared to pay him $200 (still expensive), and he accepted. Ten minutes later he was all done. Their pricing is ridiculous. Unless you've got a leak that can't wait and is causing damage, fine, otherwise forget it as their pricing is ridiculous.

    Minor toilet repair

My regular plumber was away so I called Bosco for a minor toilet repair. The price was obscenely expensive, but because I already had to pay them for the dispatch and I didn't want to call a second plumber, I went ahead.

    Emergency Plumbing Issue

I have a basement apartment and in one day the hot water stopped running in the basement, the pressure dried up and eventually the water stopped. After my husband tried to remedy the issue himself, we ended up having water all over the basement floors. This was a Sunday and I called all plumbers in our area to find NO ONE was available. I found Bosco online and called to find someone on the other end of the phone. They were very convincing on the phone of their pricing that they do not charge by the hour and instead by the job. This ended up being great for us as the job took multiple hours to fix. If you have a small job to be done, do not use Bosco as it will cost more than with an hourly company. I was very happy with the plumber that came to the house. He was extremely respectful, helpful and brought lots of ideas on how we should fix the problem. He actually offered his services for us to check the other faucets in the home and was able to fix very minor issues and tell us about future fixes that will need to be done elsewhere and how to fix them ourselves. I would recommend them for emergency fixes or bigger jobs where an hourly charge would be unreal.

    Faucet Replacement

Our laundry sink faucet started to leak. The problem was narrowed down to the seat in the faucet. Rob suggested replacing it. I also showed Rob our faucet in the basement kitchen and the fact that the cold water tap would no longer adjust the water pressure properly. Lo and behold, this was narrowed down to the seat again. Rob was great. The installs were very clean. My only complaint is the high cost of the replacement faucets but I can't do the work myself.
