Very meticulous waterproofing job was done at our property by Umbrella. They paid attention to the smallest details and helped us to determine the cause of the dampness in the basement, as well as to fix it for good with the exterior waterproofing. Vlad and his crew are very reliable and the lady who answers the phone (I forgot her name) is a superb with customer service. They explained exactly what work needed to be done and showed up as promised. When winter caused some damage and loosened the metal well they installed, they came quickly to repair it at no charge. Very happy with the results.

We have a few properties in Oshawa that we rent out and the basement floor+ carpet in one of the units flooded. It was a challenge for us to find great waterproofing contractor who we could trust because we reside in Montreal and therefore we could not be on site. So we conducted interview over the phone and got quotes sent to us by email. We are very pleased with umbrella’s team: the communication was excellent, calls and emails were always answered and we received updates at all times; entire work was documented in pictures for us to see; tenants did not complain and were very happy with the proficiency of work done; everything was done on time like they promised. We did our research, interviewed 6 different contractors and chose Umbrella Waterproofing because we liked what we saw and heard plus very positive feedback from their past customers. Their turn-around time for the waterproofing was good. The process made sense and reasons behind proposed treatment were sound. They were really good to us by being willful to work with our schedule, welcomed all of our questions and told us about sump pump rebate (subsidy from the city of Toronto) which was not mentioned by other five contractors. My experience shows that they value their customer and are being up front about everything: there were no hidden fees, free initial meeting, and very precise detecting of the reasons for mold & water in our basement.

We could see results almost immediately after the work was finished - the area did not leak when it rained several days after the work was done. We were pleasantly surprised to see such immediate effect especially remembering how before the water proofing treatment the basement floor would flood instantly even during light rainfall, and so in the past we had to use lots of bathroom towels, mopping and folding the carpet up until we just decided to get our foundation walls fixed. It was wise decision. Now I have the confidence in starting long needed renovations without fear that our basement may leak and ruin hardwood flooring that we are planning to install there, or new furniture that was sitting all this time in the storage unit while the basement was untreated and damp. Getting our basement waterproofed by the guys from Umbrella had alleviated so much stress and now after the work withstood the test of rain and time I am even gladder to have gone with them. I am just kicking myself for not doing it earlier – that surely could have saved me time and nerves. My advice for anyone who experiences foundation issues but is tentative like myself and waits around hoping it resolves itself is: just get an honest contractor like I did. Very positive experience dealing with this company. They fixed our leaky basement in March and it had dried up completely in all the areas that previously were wet and oozed water with sediments every spring/fall. The staff was professional and left the site immaculately tidy upon completion of the waterproofing. The price was right and the customer service could not have been better. I would recommend this business without hesitation.

This company definitely stood out to me among others because a) they were the only company who very logically explained the work and offered me two waterproofing options both reasonably priced after very thorough inspection of my basement; b) very professional from attire to moisture tools they used; c) extremely responsive. They were on point as to what was causing the leak and tackled the job with outmost professionalism and respect for our property. They managed to keep the work area clean in spite of the nature of their work. Since completion of this waterproofing job the leak had stopped. Overall I am very impressed.

I highly recommend Umbrella if you are looking for an honest waterproofing contractor and a good value for solid work. Our basement had water issues since we’ve moved in 6 years ago. Last year the leaks got significantly worse and came in with passion every time it rained. When water was coming inside of our basement profusely it also carried particles of soil and sand. We had sump pump installed by another contractor in the past but of course it was less than a band-aid solution. Before we started long-planned renovations, first thing was to ensure that there would be no more leaks. We met with a few contractors. We went with umbrella because they took time to explain the process, pinpointed the cause of the problem and provided us with clear advice on how to fix it. They worked very efficiently; always kept me updated and did not need me there, needless to mention they fixed the problem and left the area spick-and-span. Keep up the good work.

Umbrella’s wonderful team did an outstanding waterproofing job at our house. Home inspector recommended them. They were quick to respond to our call and to schedule the estimate. The initial visit was very in-depth and very insightful for us as we did not have any previous experience with basement leaks. Of course we did some research and obtained a few more quotes. But Umbrella was the only company that instilled confidence in us. They were great and left us very pleased with their service.
