    Plumbing

I had Alek's come to my condo various times to fix toilets, faucets and check for leaks in the washrooms and repair these leaks. He has also installed my dishwasher and upgraded the plumbing to the dishwasher. The cost for his the services he provided were reasonable. After working with Alek, I could tell you that his service was worth every penny. Alek was always on time, he was able to answer all of my questions, give his professional advice and educate me around various plumbing issues. I should also mention that when you call to book your appointment, his assist is polite and professional. I have used other plumbers in the past who have not been fully reliable. However, Alek has been exceptional. I trust him 100% and he is the only plumber that I will ever use in my homes. I will recommend him to anyone and everyone that has plumbing issues.

Connection to sewage ejector and sump pump, reconnect water supply from meter

I found A & Y plumbing on Homestars and passed A & Y's number to my contractor who contacted Alex. Initially We hired Alex to connect only our sewage ejector and sump pump, but we loved the quality and the efficiency of his work so much that we contacted him soon after to reconnect our water supply from the meter. He was very efficient and priced his work fairly. For both jobs we contacted him a day before or even the day of the job and he showed up on time and delivered as promised. Even our designer/general contractor was impressed by his work, in fact she was the one who told us to give these guys an awesome review. I would definitely recommend using A & Y and I'll definitely call them again when I need plumbing work done.

    Dishwasher pipe work

I just purchased a new dishwasher for my renter in Toronto and I needed a plumber to make the connections. Its hard taking care of your place from the other side of the continent. I always want to make sure that I am hiring reliable contractors for maintenance. My neighbor recommended A and Y Plumbing to me. A and Y Plumbing scheduled a same-day service and my renter tells me everything was done well and quickly. Very happy with the service, than you

Install new faucets in old tub

A and Y Plumbing a.k.a. A & Y Plumbing Every estimate received was $600 and up for the same thing. I had contacted A & Y last year & again this past September 2013 and they said $75 an hour with a $35 service call. I booked them, they came (Alex is the boss), they worked in my main bathroom w the door closed to help eliminate dust. They cut thru original 1957 tiled tub wall, they installed new faucets, they had to cut thru cement. They managed to work in small space without the need to break my hallway wall on the other side (then I would have to repair). Alex's work was so great that when he put a metal plate on the tub wall, it covered all breakages in the tiles. So I did not have anything to repair. The total cost was $250 cash. This was just about a four (4) hour job. Alex and Victor are honest, upfront. They did an excellent job, cleaned up. I will recommend them for the rest of my life; that's how good they are. Thank you Alex.

    leaky pipe

We called A & Y Plumbing to fix a leaky pipe that drains our kitchen sink and after they repaired the leak, it was slow to drain. It drained perfectly fine before. When I called to tell them that our sink was now slow to drain, they said it was not their problem and wanted to charge us more money to fix a problem they caused. I won't use them again. As a follow up to their response, I want to repeat that their customer service after the job had been completed is less than stellar. I think good customer service afterwards is just as important. The first person I talked to was rude and condescending. Only after I posted a negative review on Homestars, did someone else phone me back and offer to come and "evaluate" the problem free of charge. And I think its really a big coincidence that after I post the a negative review, that they would get a "10" review immediately from someone else.

shut-off valves, sinks, faucets and toilet installation

We were lucky to find Alex - a member of A and Y Plumbing team - to do multiple work for us during one year. He installed shut-off valves, sink and faucet in the kitchen as well as a new toilet, pedestal sink and faucet in our newly renovated powder room for a reasonable price. Every time he came in on time and did a great job: fast and good quality. What else could you wish for?!

    Basement Waterproofing

Without a hesitation A and Y Plumbing is the best plumbing company that I have every dealt with. I have used them on more than one occasion and they have consistently provided excellent, high quality work at very competitive prices. Their knowledge is superb and they even assessed a job I had done by another plumber (before discovering them) noting the short-cuts that were taken by the other plumbing company, which I am still upset about, since they were recommended to me by Direct Energy. Our home was affected by flooding rain on July 8th, 2013 along with many Toronto homes. Our basement was flooded and I was concerned about the extent of plumbing repairs that needed to be done to prevent future flooding. I thought the whole exterior wall needed to be re-sealed and the weeping tiles needed to be re-installed. Andrey from A and Y Plumbing assessed the basement water damage and even performed a simple test (that I witnessed) to determine what needed to be fixed before providing the quote. Andrey asked questions to help direct his assessment of the issue. He assured me that if I decided to make repairs only the window well and the surrounding area needed to be repaired, explaining in detail how the damages had occurred. It is refreshing to meet honest plumbers who sincerely care for their customers. Pictures speak volumes about the great job that was performed by A and Y Plumbing. I just wish I had taken before pictures to show how much work was done. A and Y Plumbing definitely went the extra mile, even involving another company to confirm that the gas line was not as concern for the job. Andrey even assured me that if the area begins to sink over time to simply call A and Y Plumbing and they will add more gravel; evidence that they care for their customers even after the job is done. I highly recommend A and Y Plumbing for your plumbing needs and I will definitely contact them for ALL my future plumbing repair needs. If I were possible I would get them a rating of 11 out of 10.

    Replace Sewer Line

We were very happy with A & Y Plumbing. We had a sewer back up on Saturday and Oleg was in to assess the issue on Sunday night! He was able to assess the problem accurately. We had another contractor in to camera the lines so we did not need this service from him. However, he was able to beat the quotes of the other contractors we got quite significantly. His crew came in and did the work promptly and professionally. They were very clean and did not leave any mess in the basement. Oleg also encouraged us to install a backflow valve. We decided to do this and are happy we did. The paperwork was not difficult to fill out and we hope to get our rebate soon. Thanks A & Y Plumbing!

    Pipes-Drain repair after rain flood

Once my husband and I came home from work on Wednesday April 10th we had found 20-30 cm of water everywhere in our finished basement after series of heavy rains. It was very disappointing and shocking picture to see our well maintained and spacious basement under water. Not a best experience and feelings one can have, we so badly wanted our basement to be restored to its original nice look us soon as possible. We picked a draining company from the yellow pages. After 3 hours of investigation of a problem, they told us how much it would cost to complete an actual job; and water was still in all floors. The estimate was a little bit costly, so we pay only for consultation. Then we called another company A&Y Plumbing around 11:00 p.m. by our friend’s referrals, this time it worked better for us. The crew came fully equipped, after only half an hour almost all water was taken out, the problem (the old pipe-drain system clocked) had been found, a schedule for next day was set-up; and quote was a reasonable. Beside of good quality, fast work during night, Oleg suggested to call insurance company to claim damages. Firstly, we didn't recognize how badly our basement was ruined, that mold would grow through all house if we didn't renovate all floors and part of walls. Now I can compare their 24/7 service only with the highly appreciated CAA emergency support in a drain world. Definitely, I would keep their contact for all further maintenance and repairs and would highly recommend to all our friends, neighbors and other people in need of fast, efficient, friendly, cost-effective drains service. Good work Alex, Oleg and your crew.
