We hired Sobol to replace the remaining old windows and doors in our Victorian semi-detached; 4 double-hung, 2 picture windows, 1 exterior glass door, and 1 exterior aluminum door with integral blind. From the outset they were among the best contractor/services we have hired. We had another major window company provide a quote. In comparison, Sobol (Archiel and Kozue) conducted a thorough assessment of our work, provided a highly detailed quote, and clearly indicated the installation timeframe (they were quite busy). Archiel provided helpful advice about window and door options, and sent several alternative quotes for coloured aluminum exteriors and architectural door handles – which we ultimately selected. The installation crew was also great – they took the necessary time to ensure that the finishes were well done (including virtually rebuilding our deteriorated wood door frames), and the daily clean-up was excellent. There were no extra costs above the original quote. It has been several months since the installation was completed and we are very pleased with the product and quality of the installation. We would highly recommend Sobol Inc. [We would also recommend selecting one of their custom colours for exterior windows and doors – the additional cost was minimal but the result was a significant upgrade over standard white.]

We were looking to replace a couple of windows in our house and expand/replace the front entrance door. We called a few companies for quotations - Sobol was the 3rd company to come out for measurements/quotation. When I met Archiel I immediately felt comfortable with him. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to and by far the most thorough in comparison to the others. Most importantly, I felt he was trustworthy and he did not disappoint. Archiel and his crew were courteous, professional and respected our home. They were meticulous in their work and took responsibility for cleaning up after themselves. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of work and the crew’s expertise. I highly recommend Sobol Inc and will definitely use them again.

When we started to look into replacing the windows in our 100 year old home, we had no idea where to start. After contacting 2 window companies (one of which never called us back), we found Sobol Inc on Homestars and contacted them as well. Archiel had responded within a few days and when he came by the house to view the windows, he was very helpful and had some great suggestions and input. We could tell from our meeting with him that he was very meticulous with his work and cared about our needs and the detail in his company’s workmanship. We chose to hire Sobol Inc not only because of the above, but also that they were able to give us more than what we expected for approximately the same price as other quotes. The crew worked for six days and was very careful at keeping the house clean as they worked. They tidied up every night before they left and made sure the front and back yards were tidy as well. As the finishing trim was going up, they asked us for our input on certain details, instead of making decisions on their own. In the end, we were so happy with the crew, the windows, and the workmanship. We would highly recommend Sobol Inc. to anyone looking to replace windows, especially in an older home. We know we would use them again.

We had 9 windows replaced, one repaired and a new one installed into our double brick home. We were so impressed with Sobol! Archie was very professional and so as his crew. They used drop clothes throughout the house, they vacuumed their mess, they arrived on time each day, they caulked and finished the windows with new trim and even filled the nail holes. We were most amazed that the new window was installed and surrounded by a beautiful casement that matched the trim that is in the rest of the house. Next year, we plan on replacing our to bay windows and we will choose Sobol again!

We got 3 quotes to replace five windows and to reseal two others. The first 2 companies were typical, apparently - "we're one of the only trustworthy companies, I'm going to give you a special 130% discount plus free installation, and the seniors discount because I like you.... so that would be $9000..." Archiel was the 3rd to quote, and his first words were "how can I help you?" It was a good start. He spent lots of time looking at the windows, gave us some ideas of how to reduce our costs, and gave us a very reasonable price. The only downside was that they're so good that we had to wait a couple of months to get the work done. But when they did, his crew was prompt, fast, clean, and they did a great job. The windows they installed are very good quality. I've already recommended Sobol to my neighbour, and I'm going to have them quote some other work for me in the near future.

We decided to contact Sobol after reading all the positive reviews on this site. I'm glad to say that dealing with Archie and his team was a very pleasant experience and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone reading this. When we started the initial request for a quote we really didn't know what styles we wanted for the windows and doors. Archie came over to the house and after showing him the windows we wanted replaced, supplied us with a reasonable quote in a very timely manner. During his initial visit, he even informed us that one of the windows we had was still in very good shape and did not need replacing. The work was performed very professionally and his team were very tidy (covering furniture in the near vicinity, cleaning up after themselves at the end of each day and at the very end of the job). They even very quickly replied to questions we had after the job was finished. Very pleased with Sobol and the end result!

Contracted with Archiel at Sobol Inc. after he did work at our neighbours. The project started as scheduled, the crew was great, clean and professional, and the work was completed on time and exactly as per the quote. As with many old houses, we discovered some issues, with the foundation under the new door needing some repair, and this was done well at a reasonable extra cost. I would recommend them to anyone.

We hired Archiel to replace our patio door with a better one and we couldn't be happier with the installation and quality of the door. Thanks to everyone at Sobol for a great job.
