    Pillar Replacement

    Tony was a pleasure to deal with. He got back to me quickly and came right out to provide an assessment and quote which he stood by. Our century home pillars which support the front porch overhang were beginning to lean leading us to believe that a foundation below the frost line was likely not in place, causing our problem. When Tony arrived to begin work (even earlier than scheduled) he got right to the bottom of it (pun intended) and laid a new foundation before replacing each brick pillar entirely. The new pillars are solid and superb and I'm sure will last another 100+ years. Tony provides solid, reliable work at a competitive price. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Straight-up Masonry.

    replacing porch pillars

    Tony Devlin is an artist with mortar and brick, who works efficiently and harmoniously with Kevin, his capable assistant. I am completely satisfied with the job they did replacing my crumbling pillars and will invite Straight Up Masonry back in the spring to do additional work on my house.

    Replacing disintegrating brick ledge under large window

    We have been watching the brick ledge disintegrate year by year. We decided to get it repaired and never thought it would look so good and so solid afterwards. The detail in the workmanship of replacing the brick and the appropriate caulking was a nice surprise. Obviously Tony is a true craftsman in his trade. I will be recommending him to family and friends.

    Rebuilt a chimney

    Tony provided a written estimate for a rebuild of a chimney. He came on the day scheduled; his work was fast, of top quality, and with a complete clean-up afterward. I recommend Tony to anyone needing this type of work.

    Stonework repair to front porch stairs, tuck pointing of brickwork, parging of foundation

    Tony came to my house and provided a comprehensive description of the work required (no misunderstanding) and a resultant quote that he stood by. The work was carried out in a very professional manner and the end result was exceptional. The whole experience was very edifying and I would recommend Tony (Straight Up Masonry) to any of my friends and business accquaintances.

    Tuckpointing

    Tony Devlin was knowledgeable and honest in his assessment of the work to be done. I appreciated and trusted in his advice. Overall, he was prompt, professional and personable. His workmanship was excellent.

    chimney rebuild; tuckpointing

    Tony Devlin paid great attention to detail in rebuilding our chimney by matching the replacement brick as closely as possible to the existing structure. He described the process in detail when inspecting our property and educated us about the rebuild and tuckpointing. After completing the job Tony and his associate were meticulous in cleaning our property. Price was within range of other estimate solicited for this project. The craftsmanship and skill in communicating gave us confidence in this undertaking--a neat, lasting job that enhances the value of our home.

    Front porch and landing

    Tony was simply amazing. Showed up on time, reasonable pricing but most importantly, top-quality work. Our front porch has been transformed and looks remarkable. Tony also devised and custom-built a landing with stones matching the porch. We couldn't be happier with the results. If you need stone work, look no further. Save yourself time, money and trouble, just call Tony.

    tuck point and cap chimmney, remove chimmney

    I needed one chimmney tuck pointed and capped since it was leaking in the basement and I needed another unused chimmney removed. Tony was great to deal with. He provided a prompt, reasonable estimate and did the work on time. Also did an excellent job of cleaning up after. This last rainstorm has proved that the work was definitely weather tight - not a leak in the basement anywhere!

    brick replacement

    We have an old semi-detached victorian with some bricks around the base and mid-way up the first floor that were decaying or starting to show their (over 110 year old) age, so we called Tony to come over take a look. He turned up on time, gave us a very reasonable estimate within a couple of days, and returned soon after to complete the job. He gave us a choice of replacement brick colours, and the new bricks fit right in with the original ones. The job was done quickly, with no mess. I would definitely recommend Tony to friends and family.
