    Purchase/installation of new AC & decommissioning of old unit

    Late July during the heat wave, the old AC unit stopped working. It was too small, inefficiently installed on the wrong side of the house, had been diagnosed with a coolant leak earlier in the year, and had a compressor malfunction during the summer. The Shift Air team efficiently diagnosed the problem, and made arrangements to have a new unit shipped and installed within about a week. The parts and labour were reasonably-priced. There are four highlights to share with you. First, I've had Brent in for the last couple of years to service my furnace and AC units and I trust him, his knowledge, and the quality of his work. Second, he and his team are extremely professional, courteous, and cleaned up their work space. Third, their solution worked...and worked well! The new unit is sized appropriately for the house, was installed efficiently, and the workmanship was very clean. Finally, the job was done per the original estimate without additional costs. Trusted, quality and reliable service is difficult to find these days. This is a great company for that reason alone!

    Central A/C Installation

    We decided to finally get central A/C installed. It was an item on the list for years but just never got around to it. Called Brent based on HomeStars reviews and ratings. Initial scheduling of the first appointment to get sizing done and a quote was scheduled within days. Brent was at the house as scheduled and was very quick to get sizing done and a rough quote. Maybe a little too quick, I was concerned that because no heat calculations were done that we were guessing at the size of unit required. But decided to trust the professional here and his experience. Within a day I got the quote as discussed with an install date as discussed as well. Install date: Brent showed on time with his colleague and they started right away. Absolutely no surprises, at least for me. Before I knew it we had an A/C unit installed and running as well as a brand new WiFI enabled thermostat. Unit has been in place for about 2 weeks and been running quite well. Due to space constraints, we had to go with a slimmer YORK unit, (TCHD), I was a little concerned we were giving up some features and functionality by not going to a traditional square unit. Brent advised we should be fine with it as he uses 2 of them himself. So far so good. The unit is massive (4 ton) but does not look out of place or obtrusive. The color also blends in quite well with our building. Great work. Thanks!

The Installation was very clean and the client had been nice enough to move all the equipment out of the way in the mechanical room.     New air conditioner

    I bought two York air conditioner from Brent. His team & him had a great job for me. I like the work he did for my house. I would recommend him to my friends.

    new furnace installed

    Technician, Tyler & his co-worker were very professional & friendly and did an excellent job in the space they had to work with. super gentlemen. They were here on time on the date requested.

    Air Conditioner Installation

    Brent provided an onsite review and estimation. Brent was very knowledgeable about the products within his industry. The price-point was very competitive. I required an installation by a specific date. Brent showed up on time with his crew and performed an perfect installation. We were very satisfied with the professionalism and quality work of his crew. We would recommend him to family and friends anytime.

    York Air Conditioner Installation

    Brent was extremely professional from his original inspection and quoting through the installation. Even asking questions after the installation he responds quickly. The service was done professionally and looks great! No random wires or hoses hanging around. Highly recommend!

    Air conditions service call

    When putting the A/C into service, I noticed that the compressor would occasionally cycle off, and it wasn't as cool as it should be. I looked at homestars for a highly rated service company and found Shift Air Mechanical. I called Brent and he managed to squeeze in the service call (busy season) about 10 days out. The service tech Dennis arrived on time, hooked up his gages and quickly diagnosed the problem-low refrigerant. He opened up the air plenum and sniff checked the coil, finding a small leak on a Schrader valve.... He fixed the leak, topped up the refrigerant and away we go. I highly recommend Shift Air Mechanical for any HVAC needs, it is difficult to find honest, experienced and qualified contractors in calgary, but Dennis and Brent with Shift Air are definitely the real deal...     Air Conditioner

    They installed a new AC unit in 2013, however we had issues within the first year and been been having the same issues with it since then. They came back only within the first year to resolve the issues, however it was only temporarily for that season. The same thing occurs every year, twice a year - the AC blows air, no cold air. They haven't come back since then. We contacted them every year, however they did not return our calls nor follow up. We've spent quite a lot of money every summer, twice per summer with alternate companies because they made no effort to contact us back. In finally getting a hold of Brent this year to come to a final resolution, from the initial onset of the call, the tone sounded very abrupt. He was quick to advise us to never call his office after hours or on the weekend and stated his hours were Monday to Friday 9-5pm, yet there was an answering service that took a message for us. We've expressed our complete disappointment and still waiting to finalize a resolution with this company where we will not have to keep incurring cost after cost.

    Air Conditioning Installation

    Brent and Shift Air Mechanical Ltd were great to deal with from the beginning to end of the installation of our air conditioner. His professionalism and knowledge of the services he offered was evident from the first time we spoke with him about the installation, to the quote he provided and finally the installation. He was able to work within our budget and provided us with exceptional service! I would gladly work with Shift Air again in the future and will be certainly be recommending them to all our family and friends!

    air conditioning install

    We met Brent at the Calgary home show and were immediately impressed with his service and knowledge. He came out to quote on the install. His quote was competitive and the final cost was exactly as quoted. In addition, Brent offered advice and solutions to mulitple options. Brent and his team are professional and courteous. They were very respectful of our home and time. Highly recommended. Now we're looking forward to summer!
