    New Furnace install

    Brent and his associate installed a new York energy efficient 80,000 BTU, 95.5% efficient furnace in September of 2011. We are very satisfied with the installation. The furnace has been working fine ever since. For the installation, he arrived on the agreed day,at the time he said, with all the equipment and tools to do the job. And the installation, clean up and old furnace hauled away on the same day afternoon.

    Replaced 2 furnaces and a hot water tank

    Brent (the Shiftair owner) was recommended to us from another contractor who replaced our windows. We had 2 furnaces replaced with high efficiency units and a hot water tank replaced with a high efficiency tank. We have a 30 year old house so there was a fair bit of work getting the old units out and the new ones in. Brent and his crew basically had the units replaced in one long day so we didn't have to go without heat (it was November). He had the units set up and running but had to return the next day to finish installing the controllers. We had a few problems with the controllers and sensors initially and Brent was quick to return our emails and try to walk us through the set up. When that didn't work, Brent came back and set them up (had to call the manufacturer) so that all was working as it should. We have had no problems since. Overall, we are very happy with the new furnaces and hot water tank. Brent was very professional and good to work with. We would definitely recommend Shiftair.

    A/C installation

    We found Shift Air Mechanical on Home Stars, along with a few other contractors. We had 3 estimates from different companies, all offering pretty much the same product with slightly different installation options. Brent from Shift was very punctual, professional and treated us very well. His quote came in slightly under the others, and we felt really comfortable with his approach and attitude. The job went well, he came in, took all the time required to do a good job, explaining all details to me in advance. I'm pretty sure the job took longer than expected, perhaps the rain was a factor, but he held to his original estimate. Most of the communication was done online via email, including invoicing. Brent was very good at following up on several occasions, showing that he cared about us and his work. If you are going to get an A/C done, go with Brent. Thanks!

    HVAC Install

    After a winter of furnace flakiness and a potential summer of 29 degress above inside the house (we get a ton of sun in the morning and evening), we decided to replace the old furnace and hot water tank, as well as get a new AC and humidifier, all at once, to minimize the labour costs. I spoke with a few HVAC resources, some too big (very expensive estimates), some too small (no confidence they could actually do the job), and after talking to Brent at Shift Air, one just right. Brent's estimate was professional and reasonable, and after weighing a few options (he was very patient with me as I tried to make up my mind as to exactly what I wanted), the estimate he gave me was exactly (to the penny) what the end cost of the job turned out to be. Not only did Brent always show up on time and return my questions in a timely fashion (some places didn't return phone calls or voice messages), he always gave me the impression the entire time he actually cared about the quality of work he was to deliver, which really went a long way in my book. Brent enjoys doing the job well, and it shows in the quality of his work. The job itself took a couple days (the time he said it would), and Brent and his crew (very nice people) were always positive and clearly working hard. All of our old stuff was removed from site the first day, and everything was hooked up and working properly by the middle of the second day, an excellent accomplishment, given the scope of the job. There were no surprises or things that came up on the job, like I said earlier my invoice was the exact amount of Brent's original estimate. Overall, I am very happy with Brent's work, and would recommend him and Shift Air to anyone interested in getting quality HVAC work done at a reasonable price.

    Heating system installation

    After 15 years of dealing with inferior system that was to save us money but ended up costing us thousands in replacement parts we were referred to Shift Air. A call to Brent brought him to our home for an evaluation within hours. I found Brent to be very knowledgeable even over the phone and upon assessing our problem came up with a solution. He and his crew were very professional, clean and courteous. We are now enjoying the benefits of a York furnace. ThanksShiftAir

    replaced 2 furnaces

    Brent is a really great guy. Very competitive prices and he said it would take a day and it took a day. He went above and beyond to deal with the home retro rebate program for me. I'd recommend Shift Air Mechanical as they did a great job and the work passed inspection without any problems.

    New furnace and hot water heater

    Purchasing a house in “the original condition” just before the winter brought us an inevitable task to change the furnace and the hot water heater. After some internet research and few calls around we decided to try Shift Air Mechanical Ltd. and our experience with this company was just excellent. The owner, Brent McQuade, came for a free estimate visit after a couple days of our initial call. (He came actually 5 minutes earlier as was agreed so we said to each other: “This looks like a good start”). Brent gave us a complete explanation what everything needs to be done and also recommended the furnace what he believes would suit to our house the best. (Actually, not the most expensive one.) Then we had to wait for a few more days until he put together all necessary hardware. And then the morning of the day “D” came. Brent and his crew were just amazing and with all drilling for new vents and exhausts and fitting the new furnace to the old duct system at 3 pm everything was done. We would like to recommend Brent and his company to anyone. From the first call to the handing of the invoice the whole deal was conducted in highly professional but friendly manner, all appointments were scheduled to fit our work schedules and the quality of work is superb.     Furnace replacement

    Shift Air installed high efficiency furnace for us 2 weeks after we moved into house and furnace gave up first week we usded it. Brent was very prompt and got us engaged in the Energy rebate program which helped save us some money. Very very clean and meticulous workmanship. Highly recommed them for all your mechanical work.

    Air Conditioning Install

    I live in a townhouse with strict rules about noise when it comes to air conditioners. I explained this to Brent and he sent me some information on different types of high efficiency quiet air conditioners that I could present to my board for approval. This information was very helpful and I was quickly approved. Brent came in and installed my unit, he was professional and effiecient. His price was very reasonable as well which was nice. I have even called him with questions and he is able to explain everything to me. I have reccomended him to my friends and family.

    New Furnace

    I had problems with my furnace for about 5-6 months, and had communicated with Brent during this time via email/phone for a new furnace. He came over for a quote, and was very professional and honest about the work that needed to be done. Brent was understanding with the financial situation that I was in, and never pushed me into getting my furnace replaced. He was extrememly patient with me, and when the time was right, Brent still made time to come over again to look at the furnace for a quote. He provided me with a very reasonable price that worked for the both of us. Brent`s work was quick and efficient. After the job was complete, he did a great job with the cleanup and even took the old furnace away. The furnace that he installed is spectacular! It`s a mid efficiency furnace that he found, and one that doesn`t make a lot of noise and very efficient. It`s the best money spent! I`ll definitely call Brent again when it`s time to get my hot water tank replaced.
