    Always willing to help

I had an issue with the condo company saying that a fault in the building was caused by the contractors. I quick e-mail to Murad and he was able to create correspondance to the condo management company that there claim was without merit. He was able to provide photos showing that the work done and the timeline did not match what the condo corporation was saying.

    OGC - Tiny Home specialists

I hired OGC to construct a tiny home for my disabled father and am happy with the final product. I chose them due to their extensive experience specializing in building tiny homes, and they did not disappoint. The folks at OGC were a pleasure to work with. Reem assisted with ensuring the design took his disabilities into consideration and suggested material selections that would be beautiful to the eye and resilient to use over time. Special thanks to Abdull the Project Manager for his personal interest in seeing the project through from conception to completion, Murad for addressing any issues promptly and working with our schedule and Oliver for his expertise on the final touches of the project - it turned out great!

    Kitchen Reno

We had the pleasure of having OGC complete a kitchen renovation for us this spring. The OGC design team managed to capture our ideas in their design drawings and Adam, the Project Manager, made it happen. Chelsea, the Material Selections coordinator, carefully listened, understood our style, and managed to help us stay within our budget when ordering all necessary materials for the project. She was flexible and did all the necessary research to help us make our concepts a reality. Our project included updated electrical, cabinetry and hood cover, creation of a transom window to insert our stain glass, installation of ceramic tile walls (2), the building of an arch doorway, and the making of a walk in pantry. Adam was instrumental in ensuring the project moved along in the time frame that was scheduled. He also provided us with skilled trades that did excellent work to create a wonderful kitchen. The careful installation of our stained glass within the transom frame was completed flawlessly by Adam and Donald. We want to thank Jamal and John for the skilled carpentry in building the arch doorway, transom framework, and walk in pantry. These features truly make the kitchen area unique. Donald did a superb job with the drywalling, mudding, and sanding. He is talented and takes pride in his work; the results are evident. Jeff was wonderful in putting up our doors and helping Adam with the tricky installation of the hood vent cover. Luke the plumber provided excellent plumbing finishes and Precise electrical were quick and efficient in getting all electrical completed. Diegos skills in laying ceramics was evident in the final results. Adams attention to detail and open communication were truly appreciated. It was evident that there was mutual respect between him and the trades who were working with him on this project. The teamwork was truly evident. He was always attentive to our needs and responded quickly and efficiently. We highly recommend OGC for any renovation projects and we would not hesitate to use them again.

    Addition + kitchen renovation

OGC took care of my project from inception to finish and were extremely responsive from the start to the very end of the project. During the design phase, I only had vague ideas of what I wanted. Through back and forth they went through multiple iterations with 3d renderings, each one with a very quick turnaround, until we settled on something I absolutely LOVED. They saved me money by suggesting the addition be on helical piles rather than extending the basement. I was worried about cold floors, and they explained very clearly how they insulate the subfloor and get HVAC to circulate air within the floor cavity to maintain a temperature similar to the rest of the house. Before signing on, I was able to visit the site of another similar project they were finishing up and talk to the owner. I ended up incorporating some ideas from her project into mine. During the project itself, their team was on top of everything. I had some issues with Hydro Ottawa in relocating and upgrading my service. They took over communication and coordination with them when they started telling me I'd also have to relocate my air conditioning unit. In the end I'm grateful that I didn't have to deal with the dragged out back and forth. My air conditioning unit is still in the same location. :) Once delays caused by hydro were out of the way and it was all in OGC's hands, things moved super smoothly. My project manager coordinated material deliveries and different trades like a rockstar. His response time to my texts and emails were usually in the minutes. He was present almost every day to ensure things were moving well and address details before I could flag them. I really appreciated that any addition or change to the original scope was always clearly stated via change orders with a set price prior to any of the work being done. There were never any surprise costs after the fact. It never felt like they were gouging me. In fact, I originally went outside of them to build out a deck outside my new addition. After the second party try to sell me on something ridiculously expensive at twice the budget I'd given them, I asked OGC and they proposed (and built) a deck that was exactly what I wanted for about a third of the price. In the end, the trust we built gave me the confidence to almost double the scope of work as the project progressed (via clearly defined change orders). I have no regrets and will be using them again in the future to close out my carport into a garage. Pictures include some before to give a better idea of the transformation.

    Kitchen Renovation

My husband and I were very pleased with the work done by OGC on our home earlier this year, a project which involved taking down a structural wall to build an open-concept kitchen. We were on an extremely tight timeline and were impressed that OGC was able stay completely on schedule while also delivering a final product that checked all of our boxes. Throughout the renovation process, the numerous contractors were friendly, efficient, and respectful of both safety protocols and of our home. When a few errors occured, we felt that OGC dealt with them fairly and professionally. We especially enjoyed working with our outstanding project manager, Jim, who went above and beyond in every way to make our experience as positive as possible. Should we do any large renovations in the future, we will definitely work with OGC again. Thanks to the whole team for helping to create our dream kitchen!

    Basement Finishing

OGC is well organized and well structured. The project manager is excellent at managing the different sub-contractors especially when minor problems arise. The process from start to finish is seamless and all our concerns were well addressed.

    Stylish main floor renovation

We renovated our main floor in 2021-2022 to move and upgrade our kitchen and finishes. OGC provided an all-in-one service to design and plan the main floor improvements we wanted to make, and manage the project, including service providers and suppliers. The OGC workers were qualified, skilled, and the company's service providers were kind. I'm most grateful for the fact that they honoured the warranty when we had issues with our new flooring in 2023-2024, after the renovation. OGC quickly sent people to check out the problem and scheduled us in to fix the issue at no additional cost for expenses we'd already paid as part of our renovation (I chose a different flooring product, and only paid for the price difference). I would work with OGC again and recommend them. think the approved design based on new information (eg. placement of supporting structures and ducts): there was a wall I really wanted to tear down which we initially thought was load-bearing, and demolition revealed it wasn't. However, it contained multiple air ducts and cold-air returns. It was nearly impossible for me to make a decision about what to do on site, with HVAC and project manager on site waiting for me to tell them what to do. I would have needed an expert designer to investigate possible solutions to reroute ductsif anyso I could have obtained the open space I wanted. We ended up keeping the wall I wanted to get rid of so desperately, and today I still wonder if there might have been a solution. Most of their suppliers were great, except for the painting company they initially brought in who did a terrible job, but OGC made it right by sending in their own painter to redo the work at no additional cost of course, and he was great! I also encouraged OGC to reorder their project in a sequence so that painting happens before fixtures are installed: that first painter who did a bad job stained a bunch of doorknobs, hinges, tracks, etc.... But overall, I would work with OGC again and recommend them.
