Review from HomeOwner Review left on 26 Jan 2017Rating: 1 out of 5BUYER BEWARE!!! terrible costumer service to go along with terrible workman ship. Have had nothing but problems with them since the day we moved in. Have tried everything and now going to lawyers. Would never even think of using Homes By Avi on our next build. How this builder won awards it's really beyond me. Must be paying someone big money to get those!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

The worst house buying experience I have ever had. This is my second home but first from this very poor company. I was not told the truth to from the start. The start is so long of the horror that went along with this purchase that I feel there is not enough room to write it all. The issues was from misleading how the home was to be built to using my power after I took possession to build my garage to waiting almost 2 years after possession without informing me that the garage still needed a final inspection on the electrical. Which I found out from the City of Calgary. This was an intern home that i was to live in for 3-5 years which intern I would be converted into a rental property and buy myself a single family home. I will not be buying my next home from this company.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I had a great experience buying my first property with Homes by Avi (to be more specific Avi Urban). We bought it when they were still breaking the ground and from that moment on they kept is informed every step of the way. They are very meticulous and pay a lot of attention to detail. The day of my walk-through I pointed out a few things that I wanted them to change or fix and we moved in it was all fixed. After that we had the 3 months warranty visit and we pointed out two things that were not working properly that we completely missed during our walk-through, and they fixed them the very same day. They followed up with me multiple times, in person and by email. In addition, they were always available to me, I had to contact them a few times with questions and the response time was quick. My wife and I are very happy with Homes by AVI and we even said that 4 years from now we would like to buy a house built by them because we know is good quality.Review from Customer of Homes By Avi Inc. Review left on 15 Nov 2016Rating: 4 out of 5Spec home purchased from Avi
I purchased my first home 4 years ago. It was a spec home from Homes by Avi. The home looked nice but there are designs that made you scratch your head. For example, in my particular home, there is a 'fake' balcony with no doors accessing to it. You can only access through the window. There are similar designs in the neighbourhood that come with door to balcony. I don't know why they didn't put one in. Also, there are some blemishes on the counter of the fireplace, which despite trying to fix it up TWICE, it still wasn't done properly. I just gave up in the end as it wasn't worthwhile going after it.Review from Customer of Homes By Avi Inc. Customer of Homes By Avi Inc.

They do not deliver on what they promise at the time of signing: -A fence was supposed to be installed around the entire property. Avi did not deliver on this, reducing the resale value of some of condominium units, especially those on the ground floor along Silverado Terrace. They were able to squirm their way out of delivering on this because the landscaping plans (preliminary plans) that they gave to the owners were different than the issued for construction drawings submitted to the City of Calgary. -Avi also promised a reserve fund for the Condo Corporation. However, because Avi made up the members of the Condo Corporation until handover of the property, they promptly 'spent' the reserve fund prior to handover on 'expenses'.Answer from pro:
We appreciate your feedback and apologize for the misunderstanding. At the time of local safety inspection, certain guardrails were deemed to pose a threat to fire safety, which didn’t meet building code. While we remain committed to delivering on our promises, we are also responsible for meeting codes that ensure the safety of all the occupants in our developments. In regards to your concern for the reserve funds: A condo corporation begins to build these at the beginning of condominium contributions. A percentage of the contributions go towards reserve funds, which are to be used at the discretion of the condo corporation to maintain property value. Our Developer’s Board turns condo corporation management over to the homeowners’ board within three months of the first home owner taking possession, at which point a professional property management company assumes responsibility for the finances. To have your concerns about the fund addressed we recommend you contact the board, property manager or appointed auditor for the Corporation, for clarification on this matter.

Review left on 3 Nov 2016Rating: 5 out of 5Avi Street Townes in Mahogany
This has been my first home buying experience. I found the Avi Street Townes in Mahogany after searching for approximately 10 months and was immediately impressed. The sales team Deb and Lori were professional and extremely helpful providing insight into the neighbourhood, upgrades to consider or forgo and they were able to narrow down what units I would be interested in by asking simple questions regarding lighting and the type of space I wanted (this saved a lot of time!!). They were respectful of my budget, graciously looked into whatever questions I had throughout my experience (even after purchase) and their response time was fantastic!! These ladies do an incredible job and really know the homes they are selling. Jason, who is the site foreman, was knowledgeable, curteious and very kind!!! He takes the time to explain the house plan and no detail is too small. He was willing to do the small extras that really add to the customer service experience. His speculation of build time was dead on. What I really appreciate is that his excellent customer service didn't end with my move in date. He is readily available to help and address even my smallest concerns in a timely and approachable fashion. I have to add on here that other employees that I have met also provide exceptional customer service. Travis who I met on my move in day was happy to help and follow up with any concern I had. Paul, who was part of my 3 month inspection, explained everything in detail and was very helpful and thorough. I had a concern with my garage door and between Paul and Nonie the issue was dealt with the same day. I am incredibly pleased to see how well this company treats you after possession. My experience with all the employees has been exceptional and exceeded my expectations. The staff come across like they are happy in their jobs which is great to see. I love my new townhouse. It is quiet, bright, well designed and I see the value in what I paid for. This entire experience has exceeded my expectations. Thank you Homes by Avi!!Review from Customer of Homes By Avi Inc. Review left on 26 Oct 2016Rating: 1 out of 5I have a bad experience with the company, switching a sales representative is not a good idea.
Bad experience leads into stress. I've purchase a house from homes by avi giving all y trust and confident that everything will be done on my expectations and as per discussed with the area representative/sales representative. Then suddenly the sales representative just quit after I signed the contract. Now everything we have agreed wasn't "documented" so manangement will never honour. Now I need to spend more extra dollars to get what I want which supposed to be included in what we've agreed. I'm now in doubt to recommend this company to any of my family and friends .Review from Kai Kang Kai Kang
