Reply created 8 Nov 2016We always respond immediately to reviews so that readers understand the situation. You wrote feedback to Homestars on Nov 5, 2016 and acknowledged the following: job was completed on time, all deficiencies were rectified with no charge to you, damaged brick work has been repaired by your mason and KNT has credited the full amount. We are sorry for your inconvenience and we apologize for the unintentional and unfortunate incidence. I respect your right to state your view and I welcome it as a learning experience for KNTelectric. I am happy that you acknowledge we completed the removal of the knob and tube on time and the electricians arrived on time and worked steadily. We try to keep an eye out for details such as crooked cover plates. We always address concerns immediately. For example On Oct. 4 - you informed us the power was off on the ground floor - I immediately replied & informed you to reset the AFCI protection, plus forwarding you additional information about Arc Fault Protection On Oct. 25-I returned to install your two light fixtures that arrived after we finished the electrical work (at no charge. There was no mention of this crooked fixture at that time or in any of our 40 email communications. As we always request that clients make a punch list of items for us to take care of before requesting the 10% hold back of final payment I don't think it’s fair that you can report that a wall fixture is slightly off centre without asking or pointing it out to KNT electric- as we would have corrected this right away. We are always and still willing to come back and "make it right". "LOL Holmes on Homes" When installing the front door light, we needed to chip out the brick which we accidently broke along with the adjacent bricks.I am sorry about the brick work I know my guys should not have tried to chip the brick in order to flush mount the pancake so that the fixture would be flush to the brick. We will in the future discuss with clients an alternative when the existing brick was compromised. Our patching should have been more professional and I accept your criticism that a mason should have been hired to do a proper repair. You informed me that you had obtained 2 quotes. I accepted to pay the $500 for the repair as quoted without seeing the quoted scope of work. I spoke with another Mason who offered to do the repair the same week (for $300) but you replied and I quote "Please be reminded that this situation was not of my doing, I have done all the legwork to get it corrected, and that a responsible business owner, as you consider yourself, would be diligent in resolving it acceptably and without reservation." During this period which lasted for just over a month, I only received payment for material delivered. The Contract require payment up to 90% upon completion of job-with holdback of 10% (Payment in arrears is over $5,000). When we met & I agreed to pay for the damage I requested $4000 payment and you said you would take care of it when the brick work was complete. When I was notified the brick work had been repaired, I immediately revised my Invoice, credited the $500+HST and sent it to you on October 19, 2016 & was paid Nov 11,- seven days after your review. I am still waiting for a copy of the masons invoice.
