    sewer pipe replacement and waterproofling of basement

    The worker who gave me the initial estimate, Steve, misled me, I believe deliberately, by giving me a quote that I thought was for the whole basement which was supposed to take a week: to be completed on Friday, he said. The estimate I signed said, "Waterproof at basement." He told me I would never have to worry again about leakage or flooding. I was ill at the time and told him so, which put me in a vulnerable position he took advantage of. Then on Tuesday I was told they were done. Half the basement had been waterproofed. The guy who gave me the estimate said that is what he had "meant". I had to pay extra to get them to complete the waterproofing. In addition, other things he said, like returning to check things on certain days, did not happen. He was a spinmaster. Whether the work that was completed was done properly or not, only time will tell. When I wrote the owner relating the full story, and asking for the extra money back, he refused to give it to me, nor did he address the problem of faulty communication. I would never recommend these people again. The previous owners of the company, who I had hired several times, were honourable and did good work. The new owner is quite another story.

    Broken pipe - Replacement of Cartridge

    Called this company about 4:15pm and spoke to a friendly gentleman. He assured me that a plumber will be at my location between 6pm -8pm. At 7:30 when the plumber did not arrive, I called Rooter-man and was told the plumber was busy and I wasn't guaranteed to get a plumber. It was recommended I call another company. I did call another company and was provided prompt efficient service. The friendly gentleman was concerned and did call later that night to ask if I got a plumber.

    Plumbing Repair

    Overcharged for service by approximately $450. Five weeks and 20 phone calls later we received a refund. Heat tracer service installed to keep pipes heated does not meet electrical code according to our electrician and confirmed by the firm. This had to be redone and the firm was very unresponsive. My impression was that they were hoping I would give up calling and just go away. I have never been more displeased with the overall professionalism of a firm.

    We went back numerous times to assist this customer. We told him upfront that he had "electrical issues" and that we are a plumbing company and not electricians. We conducted a heat trace, and returned to the customer's home on several occasions to ensure that the service was satisfactory. When we informed him that he needed to call an electrician we refunded him $500 for his troubles. Upon the issue of the refund, the customer seemed happy with our diligent service, and returns to make the job right. Then he issues this inaccurate and negative Review of our upstanding company. This Review is upsetting to Rooter-Man as an organization, because we pride ourselves on customer service and doing "whatever it takes" to make the job right, which we did in this case. To consumers reading this, please understand that what is written in Mr. Hazen's review is inaccurate, and we are a company that stands by our work and our word. - ROOTER-MAN MANAGEMENT

    Kitchen Faucet Installation

    I called Rooter-Man Plumbers to get a quote to install a faucet. The plumber came out and the price was a little high, so he gave me the option of buying the faucet myself, and then he would lower the price. I did just that, and he lowered the price considerably. I appreciated this gesture and decided to move forward with the work. The technician, Jorge, did the work in about two hours, and everything looks great. I was especially impressed by the way he cleaned up after the job was done. As well, he wore covers on his shoes, so he didn't track the snow into my house. Rooter-Man did a good job, and I would use them again. Mike in Pickering, Ontario.

    Kitchen Stack Replacement

    I called Rooter-Man two weeks ago to get a quote to replace my kitchen stack. They sent out Patrick, who gave me a great quote that was better than the other companies I called. Patrick returned the next day, with a helper, and did the job in about six hours. Patrick was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the job. This company delivered on all of their promises, and I would definitely use them again if a situation arose. Sincerely, James in Brampton, Ontario

    Clogged Toilet in my Condo

    I called this company to come and fix a clogged toilet I had in my condo. They came out and gave me a price and I told them to go ahead with the work. The plumber fixed the job in about 10 minutes, and the price was $250. The service was good, and I would recommend this company to friends. Elyn Y; Downtown Toronto

    backwater valve

    This is the second time I have used Rooter-Man, and, once again, I am happy with their services. The first time I used them they fixed a leaky faucet, and this time I had them in to install a backwater valve. Their serviceman came in, explained the job to me, and they finished the work the same day. Lisa

    drain pipe replacement

    I had sewage back-up in my basement, and I called out a few different plummers. I decided to use Rooter-Man, and was not disappointed with their service. They had a crew there to dig up the drain the next day, and they did an excellent job and clean-up. I was happy with their service. Ryan G.

    bacwater valve

    I contacted rooterman to get a backwater valve put in my house . At 1800.00 the price was good. the plumber came out and explained the steps . they got the permit from the city and when the first part of the job was done the plumber came out and met with the inspector. they finished the job the next morning . they sent me the rebate form all filled out . the flood was bad enough . thank you rooterman

    Sump Pump Installation

    Rooter-Man came out and installed a sump pump at my rental property in Mississauga. The work was done quickly and to code. The backfill took a little while, but the work was done to my liking. I was happy with the service and I would refer this company to others. Rick S; Mississauga, ON
