Review from HomeOwner Review left on 20 May 2021Rating: 5 out of 5We had already purchased our tile, bathtub, shower column, tub door, vanity/faucet, bathroom door and required a contractor to change the layout in our (very) small main bathroom. We received quotes from 3 separate companies. Norseman was the mid-range quote. Draft contract had to be revised, because wording in 2 different sections implied that we were paying more than the quote that was given to us. This was fixed by Norseman very quickly with no problems. Greg and Yuri were assigned to our project. The renovation went smoothly and quickly. After demolition was completed the scope of work had to be changed to include some insulation in an exterior wall, the quoted cost for the additional work was reasonable. We were required to buy some additional items after the renovation started and both Greg and Yuri were very specific and helpful with what needed to be purchased, so we were not wasting time or money with incorrect items. Final hand off had occurred on a Friday. Over the weekend we noticed a few small things missing. We informed Norseman on the following Monday, and the fixes were addressed by Wednesday. We are very happy with the end results. We will contact Norseman again for quotes on future renovations needs.Review from Karrie Briscoe Karrie Briscoe

Kris and Kevin are wonderful guys, they are precise and very professional.- making sure every last bit is accounted for before starting the job. We had a contractor called Mario remove our upstairs wardrobe and flooring - he managed to remove all the dirt and flooring without leaving any trace through the house, work was a little behind at times mainly because he was trying to work around existing furniture and not deciding before hand what flooring and banister to purchase for our stairs. Ameen came and finished off the job and he is meticulous - takes his time on everything he does and is a great energy in the house when you are having work done. They will make sure you are 100% happy before finishing the job!Review from Christine & Piera Basdeo Christine & Piera Basdeo
Review left on 20 Feb 2021Rating: 5 out of 5Renovation Rescue
Norseman Construction came highly recommended with the stamp of approval from Mike Holmes. We reached out to Norseman after a horrendous experience with our previous contractors who gutted and then left our newly purchased home uninhabitable (and took 70% of our money while only completing 5% of the work) Thankfully, Norseman’s owner, Kris, responded to our plea for help. His sincere appreciation for the nightmare we were left in was apparent and heartfelt. His vast knowledge, expertise and professional candor was coupled with his respect for our home since his first correspondence and his extensive walkthrough. Kris provided us with a detailed contract, outlining timelines, scope of work, expectations, cost, warranty and indicated that payments are to be made upon project milestones being achieved. This was very reassuring to us, given our previous experience. NC used a platform called Buildertrend, which ensured a fluid correspondence amongst the various trades on site with client, as well as step by step photos of our project, daily updates, invoices and payments, mitigating any surprises. They professionally addressed any issues or suggestions that arose and provided us with sound and ample advice and options. The renovation scope consisted of 2 floors beginning with major structural work to our 116 yr old home, extensive plumbing and electrical, removing load bearing walls, framing, spray foam, drywall, paint, hardwood floors and new windows. Based on our drawings, NC created a new open concept main floor, kitchen, family and dining area, 3 bathrooms: a new elegant powder room, new 2nd floor bathroom with a shower, and converted an existing bedroom into a stunning wet bathroom with heated floors and walk-in closet, as well as relocation of our washer/dryer. NC transformed our gutted house into a gorgeous home. The exquisite custom carpentry, exposed brick and stained glass, maintained the original features of our home while also achieving a balance of modern design. It is with absolute certainty that we recommend Norseman Construction. You will be in great hands irrespective of who project-manages your home, as they are all respectful, knowledgeable and debrief amongst each other daily. The Norseman team is honourable and prides itself on their workmanship while being client focused and striving for a positive experience throughout the duration of the project. They have the depth and expertise on all levels to be entrusted with any scope of work. It is with sincere gratitude that we thank Kris, Kevin and Robbie for their extensive work, care and diligence on building us a beautiful and safe home for our family. Thank you! We couldn't be more in LOVE with our home! We've attached before and after pictures for anyone to see the incredible transformation. Note: All custom cabinetry for our kitchen, walk-in closet and bathrooms were provided by Royal Cucina.Review from Adam Martinelli Adam Martinelli
Review left on 8 Feb 2021Rating: 5 out of 5Basement & Stairs Renovation
My wife and I needed to expand our space for our growing family. Our basement was unfinished and unsightly. Norseman came and drew up a plan to build a beautiful functional living space, storage area, proper staircase, and a second bathroom for our home. Our contractor Juan was always available to chat - and would ask for insight on any detail to ensure our home was exactly as we envisioned it. Kevin managed the project to completion, and ensured that we were satisfied with every element. Would recommend Norseman for any family looking to build upon their current space to unlock its potential.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Our home reno project was delayed by COVID, but as soon as it was safe to get started again, Norseman's team was on the job, guided by project manager Robert Hansen. We really appreciated Robert's attention to detail and his advice when it came to fixtures and materials. Also he is an all around great guy - and he loves dogs :-)Review from Customer of Norseman Construction & Development Ltd Customer of Norseman Construction & Development Ltd

Overall very happy with the quality of the work and customer service. We had to completely repair our roof, fascia and eavestroughs and installed a gas fireplace in our home. Review left on 17 Sep 2020Rating: 5 out of 5Project Basement
10 out of 10 We hired Norseman to finish my basement, Dave was a fantastic manager the job went very smooth, although we finished a little over the time line because there were a few extras, and the end result was exactly what we were looking for. The group was great from point of sale (working with Bryan to put the concept together) to the final walk through and close out with Kevin. Communication was key and the team work with this group was great. We intend to use them again in the spring as we make more room for me to work at home.Review from Louise Louise
Review left on 7 Sep 2020Rating: 5 out of 5Bathroom and Basement Renos
We have completed 3 projects with Norseman and the results have been excellent. The quality of work in the bathroom, especially the floor and wall tiles, was impressive, thanks to Yuri's talents. The basement required the floor to be levelled before installation of new flooring, lighting and painting. Greg was a great project manager for both renos, bringing in quality tradespeople at every stage. As typically happens in projects in old homes, there were a few surprises but they were readily addressed and Greg communicated in advance when any work was out of scope. It was great working with all of them.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 29 Jun 2020Rating: 1 out of 5New Home Build & Purchase
Purchased the home in August 2019. Obvious rush by builder to finish house. Shortcuts everywhere. Little to no follow-up on warranty claims. I have very detailed text and email trails to validate. Had gas turned off twice during the winter due to safety violations (not revealed as part of the close and or subsequent warranty requests) which were ignored. Seek specific protections & penalties if buying from this builder. Happy to provide additional detail. 08/30/2020 - While I appreciate the response from Norseman, the details are factually incorrect. The developer and the owner of Norseman are the same person. We have emails between the lawyers at time of sale that confirm that detail. Happy to post if you would like? I also did email this person with no response. It was directed through the COO of Norseman at the time. As for the gas, again, not true. The bill was moved in to our name on the date of sale. I have the red tags from Enbridge from pre-sale, post-sale and 2nd follow-up. I have three months of written correspondence between myself and Norseman asking for solutions that were promised and not delivered. Happy to post if requested. "This person wanted more for free, we denied to work for them." That is a slanderous claim which I'd appreciate further confirmation on. Please share those details. I'm also aware that this review was flagged by Norseman to HomeStars. This post was removed and then reinstated by Homestars based on the detail I provided. Again, we tried to resolve this directly and were rebuffed. I'll let the facts speak for themselves here but if I was able to show Homestars the detail to have the post reinstated, stands to reason that the information I'm providing is correct.Answer from pro:
You have given the wrong company your review. Norseman construction did not build and/or sell the home to you. Norseman Construction is a renovation company and does not sell houses. Norseman’s client, a development company, who hired Norseman to build the home, did so and sold it to you as is.(the corperation which this property was papered, was aquired as payment for work which the development company could not cover, due to the thier financial situation, the building was sold in an as is state, controled by the owner of Norseman, not as a Norseman Home, the fact that the name on the corperation is in a different name is incosiquential) If you had reached out to anyone in our firm instead of doing things this way I am sure you could have been informed. You had 4 items that were on the houses warranty from Norseman which were attended to and completed. The fact that you wanted more from Norseman without paying for the service is the reason why you are upset. The developer of whom sold you the property is the contact you should be discussing your situation with. We are happy to post the emails of confirmation of completion. Regarding the gas, upon purchase, the gas of your new location should have been put into your name. The unpaid bill and the final inspection letter, which was delivered to your property as notice, was not relayed to anyone. Therefore, your gas was shut off. If you had called anyone, I am sure it would have been taken care of. As far as your direction to Norseman COO, this person was no longer in employ with our firm at some point after the sale of this property. However any of our staff would have been happy to help if any of your concerns were valid, or you tried to contact our office which is open 9-5pm Monday to Friday. We are sorry you feel the way you do, however you are living in a very nice house which you I am sure got a good deal for, it was sold for solely to cover the value owed to our firm for work completed to the developer. You were offered a strict warranty (for this reason) under only the items that you asked for and they were repaired and covered. If this was a Norseman home you would have had a full 2 year warranty with us, as this is standard that we offer this for every renovation. I reiterate this, for all who are reading this, we did not get hired by this person. We did not get contracted to do any work for this person. The items were completed from the contract with the Developer and for the sale from the developer. This person wanted more for free, we denied to work for them. This property was completed with such a good design that it has won awards and is on our website and can be found on multiple sites showcasing this home.

These pictures speak out for a job done on door and window frames. I have to admit, these went unnoticed during the final handover inspection. I should have been careful in identifying these. They delivered on time which was good as we spent our Christmas that year in our new renovated home.
