Freezing alarm in basement went off during cold spells. Temperature at point of sensor was 14 C. Camera loses connection frequently, quits working below -15 C and now they want to charge me $80 just for the visit PLUS replacements on top of that to get it up and running all while paying $50 dollars for security and video. They tell me I should also give them 2 months notice before I can cancel even though I own the system. What???!!!??? So... lesson learned; do not buy the system. Pay as you go. Sales team provided several tailored quotes so we could choose the package best suited to our needs. We ran into an issue with keypad placement, so new wires had to be run & holes had to be drilled. The installer did an excellent job ensuring that this was done cleanly and with no signs of damage to our walls or baseboards - looks like the panel was designed to be there! Accidentally tripped the alarm recently - monitoring station called right away to confirm the alarm was false. Very professional company all around! Highly recommended.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Very friendly staff, installer was on time and did the install to the required specs and showed us how to use it. Phone software was easy to use and setup. Had a mishap and tripped the alarm and united called us quickly to confirm it wasnt a break in. Need more sensors installed as installer o didnt have enough to do our place. When we moved into our new home I called my last alarm company thinking it would be easy as I knew the system, company etc. They never called me back! And I'm happy they didn't! I called United Alarm after seeing the signs in yards down the street! Bob (Calgary) came out to see us and he was great! Everything was easy peasy! I would definitely use United Alarm again! We had an alarm installed in our home. They were very courteous on the phone with no pressure from the salesperson. The installer was on time, installed the system quickly and neatly, and explained the system in detail. just bought our home in January and wanted to make it some what secure for my family...im not always home to protect them so having this system gives me some peace of mind knowing that if someone breaks in there will be some immediate action taken to detour or scare off the would be thief or murderer....I think for just over a dollar a day it is definitely worth it...the installer (Darryl) was very knowledgable and very neat with where and how he put the security equipment...so far we havnt had any problems with the system, other than one false alarm due to my girl not turning off alarm quick enough when she came into house one evening after work...the monitoring people called within minutes to verify who we were ...I was very impressed!!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I am moving and he terrible customer service person who said they are the manager, gave me two options. 1 pay out contract of more then $900 and and simply re sign a new contract once in my new house lol. Option 2. continue to pay for four months while I don't have a house then pay more then $300 to reinstall. I said I am a paying customer and these are not good options for me. I would like to continue paying monthly even though I won't have a house but I don't think it's fair to charge me to reinstall when I am a paying customer for a service you provide. She told me she is the manager and their is no one to help me and nothing I can do. I laughed and hung up the phone. I ant wait to never have to deal with these terrible people again.Answer from pro:
Hi Falyn, I'm so sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the service you have received from United Alarm. When a new client signs up with our company, we sign them on a contract term instead of charging up front for the cost of equipment and labour. We function similar to how a cell phone company would operate; if you want to upgrade or change your cell phone but have only completed a small portion of your contract, you would be required to pay more up front for it. United Alarm offers top-of-the-line equipment at the lowest price possible. There are some alarm companies the offer free equipment moves, however these companies charge double our monthly rate to include these services. United Alarm chooses not to inflate rates to cover the chance that a client may move within their contract term, because the vast majority of our clientele remain in their original residence for many years.

We've had a great experience with United Alarms. The sales lady was patient and took the time to discuss options with me and the installer was really fantastic to deal with. I believe his name is Artur. What really impressed me was when one of our sensors died on us. A replacement was scheduled for the next day of which Artur showed up and was again; really great to work with. Thanks again United.Answer from pro:
