    Basement waterproofing

I just had my basement waterproofed by Aqua Tech and I have to say that what I thought was going to be a nightmare, was a breeze. I got different quotes from different companies and Nico was the only one that when he gave me the quote explained to me exactly what I could expect (including the high possibility of needing a sump pump, - which I did). Every detail was perfectly explained and it happened as he had said. The crew, Matuš and Igor were very professional and answered ALL my questions, and I had many!! They explained everything they were doing as they were doing it. They did an amazing job!

    Waterproofing foundation walls

I don't often write reviews, but I was so impressed with Aquatech and the work they did for me last week that I feel compelled to recommend them with my highest possible enthusiasm. Our basement problems started a few weeks ago when there was a major winter thaw followed by many days of rain that resulted in a significant portion of our finished basement being literally flooded through the foundation wall. In a bit of a panic I searched for reputable companies that could at least help me to stop the flow of water until the spring when I imagined we would have wait for the opportunity to fix the problem properly. I found Aquatech right here on HomeStars and was very impressed with the other reviews and ratings that they were given. I had never used them before (in fact I had never heard of them before), but when the lowest rating out of over 300 reviews is a 9/10, and most were 10/10, they must be doing something right. I even searched the Internet and the Better Business Bureau and tried in vain to find at least one negative review of these guys but could not! So I decided to give them a call. Andrew was able to come over within a few days. The minute we started to discuss possible solutions, I knew that I was dealing with someone who not only knew his business but who valued his company’s reputation and his customers. I’m a pretty good judge of character and I took an immediate liking to him based on his knowledge but also his approach which was decidedly NOT hard sell. We went over several options both for internal remediation but also for doing things externally. He gave me very reasonable quotes for both options; we decided to go for the exterior waterproofing. What was astounding to me is that he told me that the whole job (about 11 feet of excavation at the back of the house and about 18 or 19 feet along the side of the house) could be done in TWO DAYS. About a year or two ago we had some waterproofing done at the front of our house and while the situations were not comparable, that job dragged on for weeks. I could not believe that Aquatech could actually do the job in only two days, especially since they would have to dig the excavation trenches by hand. Plus, even though we were in the beginning of February, Andrew thought that he could probably free up a team to be able to do our job sometime within the following two weeks. When I first called Aquatech, never did I think that a) we could get this all done in the winter, b) get it done within a week or two of calling them and c) that the whole thing would only take two days to complete. Based on all of that and based on a competitive price we said go ahead. True to his word Andrew called me at the beginning of the following week and said that he had a crew available and they could start the next day if we were able to accommodate. I was delighted and agreed enthusiastically. At 9 AM the next day Slava and Bob arrived ready to work. The weather forecast had been for a fairly nice day but in fact it was fairly snowy and I felt really sorry for the guys and wondered if perhaps they would need to postpone. But no, they dug right in (literally!) and went to work. Indeed they finished the whole job by about 3 o’clock the following afternoon. Of course, it is too early to know if all the leaking has been 100% eradicated, but I watched what they did and I was very impressed at the multiple layers of aquablock and mesh and vapour barrier and dimple board that were applied. They put in all new weepers, new vertical weepers in two window wells, and even corrected some of the grade problems we had, so now water should run away from the house instead of towards the house. I could not be more impressed overall. Andrew clearly has confidence in his crews and his company because he didn’t even ask for a deposit, but only collected full payment after the job was completed and I was 100% satisfied. This kind of customer service and customer appreciation is not so common these days. I want to thank Andrew, and especially Slava and Bob who worked through some poor weather conditions but really delivered the goods in the end. I hope I never have any waterproofing needs again, but if I do I will not hesitate for one second to call Aquatech again. I recommend them to anyone else in the strongest possible terms.

Exterior Waterproofing and installation of back water valves

My basement flooded last month and I had to fix the problem urgently. Obtained 3 quotes from companies with good ratings in Homestars and decided to hire Aqua Tech for the exterior waterproofing (full perimeter of the house) and installation of back water valves. It was a seamless process – from Nico, the estimator, to Andrew Feskiv and his team. Andrew Feskiv is not only knowledgeable, he is honest and views CUSTOMER SATISFACTION as a priority. He goes to great length to ensure that his clients are happy with the work and quote. The winter weather created some challenges on scheduling work. Andrew divided the project into 4 sections to ensure that each section was completed on the same day. He stayed on top of the project and assigned his workers when the weather allowed it. He came every day to inspect the work and kept me posted on the development. As the water valve installed in the basement had to be inspected by the city before the hole could be closed, he was able to get the city inspector to come the next day and subsequently despatched his workers that afternoon to complete the project. The team worked diligently and responsibly and the supervisor, Igor junior, ensured that I was happy with the condition of the worksite before leaving for the day. He even went to the extent of mopping my basement after installing the back water valve. I highly recommend Aqua Tech for waterproofing.

Hi Connie, first of all, we would like to thank you for giving us an opportunity to work on this project and for putting your trust in our company. Although it was a big job requiring planning and timing of the work to be done by the crew and city inspectors, the smile on your face was worth it, believe us! Aquatech Waterproofing takes great pride in going beyond the call of duty to make our customers happy. Thanks again for recommending our company to our future customers. Have a great day! Basement Waterproofing

I had just finished my exterior landscaping when our basement started to leak from multiple spots on the foundation. After talking with a few companies, I had decided that in addition to whatever I paid for waterproofing services, I would have an incremental landscaping bill for 4-5k to re-sod, put back pea gravel around foundation and replant a 20' row of small cedars. Nico and Igor x 2 (two Igors!), completed my job in 4 days. The job was a mostly dug by hand and a small amount with machine because our backfill had construction material in it and was very tough to dig. They also installed 5 window wells, which turned out to be custom because our basement windows are very big. The last day I showed up and the landscaping was all put back together. They didn't tell me, but they had shoveled all the pea gravel to the back of the yard and screened it onto a tarp. The cedars were replanted. My house is also has brand new stucco. They managed not to even get the walls dirty or damage them with all the digging that had to be done. This work was done Jan 2017 and you cannot tell they were here, they left no trace of what I consider a pretty large project excavation. Their waterproofing process was also exactly as it was advertised and in multiple cases they went above and beyond what they initially said they would do. I would highly recommend talking to them and choosing them for a job you are considering.

    Waterproofing

When we suddenly had water coming in our basement, Andrew from Aqua Tech was able to determine where the problem was. He took time to explain the process and helped us select the best option for our problem. We hired Aqua Tech to do a 47-feet of exterior waterproofing of our house and installation of a sump pump. Andrew and his crew were very professional and worked very hard. They also cleaned up as they went along. Andrew even went that extra mile by touching up a few scratches on the paintwork in our basement. We were very impressed by the crew's hard work and would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

floor drain water backup in basement

Andrew was very quick in responding, assessing and quoting the repair. He was our second inquiry and we appreciated his professional assessment as well as fair quote but mostly how fast he could attend to our emergency. Job was done in 1 day, fully explained the process and provided guarantee. Site left very clean and ready for floor installation. He also offered free follow up in year time to make sure all is working properly.

    Resolution of Sump Pump Problem

In 2015 Aquatech did some exterior weatherproofing on part of our basement, which is more than 100 years old. They also installed a sump pump. On Sunday morning, one week before Christmas, I detected that the pump was grumbling and I promptly disconnected it. We bailed out the murky water, and hoped for the best overnight. I called Aquatech the next morning, and Andrew came to our house the same day. He confirmed what we feared, the pipe through which the water is expelled was completely frozen. He explained that the decision to bury the pipe for the sake of our landscaping left it susceptible to freezing. He was also able to confirm that the sump pump was still functional, which was a great relief. At our convenience, Nick came to install a length of pipe to divert the water away from the house. As per Andrew's proposal, he said that at a later date they would return to install a system that would allow us to use the underground pipe during summer, and convert to the above ground pipe during winter, resolving the risk of freezing. This they did with patience, understanding, detailed explanations that I could readily understand, and they did it for nothing. I thought we might be getting a new sump pump for Christmas this year. I would say that Andrew and Nick gave us a very generous and greatly appreciated gift. I couldn't be more impressed with their service.

We were more than happy to resolve your issue for the time being and will return to install a system once the ground is no longer frozen. Happy New Year! The Aquatech-Waterproofing Team

    Excellence in foundation waterproofing

I was looking for moisture remediation from my basement when I came across Aquatech, based solely on their reviews here on Home Stars. I didn't have massive flooding--simply minute water seepage over years and years, that I discovered during a basement reno. I called Aquatech, and Nico came over the next day promptly. He gave me lots of options, as well as ranges of pricing depending on what solutions they would need to do once they begun digging. In my case I couldn't do an interior weeping tile with sump pump--would be MUCH too destructive in my finished basement. My issue was only about 20 feet of wall. And while I dreaded digging a trench outside, they were very reassuring about the whole process. Nick their foreman brought a crew, and they had a 50 foot section dug up in a day. They discovered that there was NEVER any waterproofing done--no dimple membrane, no rubberized sealant--nothing. I chose Aquatech also because of their product. Two layers of Aquablock, a fibreglass mesh in-between to accommodate any cracks that may develop over time in the foundation wall, a poly barrier, the infamous dimple board...plus weeping tile covered in landscape fabric, and all the dirt tamped down with fresh gravel on top. The whole thing is finished professionally with a good looking trim peeking just above grade. Really looks neat. Took about 3.5 working days. My application also required adding a concrete base below the footing of my house, which I don't think it typical of newer homes. Very happy with their approach, their crew, and also the pricing that we negotiated. Would recommend.
