    Many small fixes!

We have called them in a few times, and have always been delighted with their service. We have an 1930 character home near Riverdale, complete with an original bathroom. Levstein and Stern were the first plumbers to be able and interested in working with the original parts and repairing rather than replacing with new fixtures. They are creative, diligent, and tenacious. We recently had them in to help finish installing an Ikea sink and cabinet in our basement suite. It involved a lot of finicky work and the plumber, Ryan, was superb - the final work was just what we wanted. As well, this is one of the few plumbers that you can get on the phone - Steve has given me advice that has been invaluable. Last, their prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend these plumbers - we don't bother calling anyone else.

    Basement Drain

Basement drain was never installed with trap. Levstein & Stern quickly identified the problem, provided very good references that I was able to verify and reasonable quote. The quality of the workmanship is very high, and they are a pleasure to work with.

Clogged Drain, Toilet reset and a few small jobs

Outstanding service from Levstein and Stern. I had a few small jobs to do on my older East-end home (i.e. Toilet reset, clogged sink and a leaky pipe etc) Steve and Ari were prompt to call back, provided a brief assessment of the jobs and estimates. These guys are really nice, upfront about the cost, courteousness about taking shoes off and cleaning up and honest - and their prices are fair! Don't be hesitant to call them. Quality work and great rates. ***(I had another quote from another much larger 'TV show endorsed firm" on Homestars and their prices were close to $1000 - for the same work!! insane Caveat emptor!!)

    Bathroom renovations

Ari and Steve were able to come on short notice when my contractor got in over his head on my bathroom renovations. It was a complicated job in an old house, but they had everything working perfectly before I got home from work.

    Tub Removal/Replacement & Radiator Removal/Reinstall

Steve just completed the work for my bathroom renovation. As I would still like to receive warranty service, I only intend to present the facts. Steve was tasked with a Tub Removal/Replacement & Radiator Removal/Reinstall. When the tub was installed (typical tub/shower tub), the tub was not resting on the wood fastened to the wall that is meant to support the tub. Instead the tub was floating .5 inches above the wood. Also, only a single metal support was applied to the tub (three should have been installed). Thank goodness I have access to a handy family member who was able to remedy these problems, otherwise the tub could have collapsed on one side. The radiator removal was flawless; however, when the radiator was re-installed, both of the pipes that lead from the rad to the boiler leaked. The first pipe to leak leaked so much that the rusty water from within the rad leached into the natural granite tile and stained the tile. The water also seeped through the floor and stained the ceiling on the other side of floor. Steve returned to fix the leak, and it didn't leak again; however, about a week later the other pipe started to leak. Luckily this leak was much slower and didn't stain the tile, as we caught all water with cloths. Steve returned again to correct the second leak. The silver lining: the price was initially competitive, and was further improved post the unsatisfactory tub installation.

    Answer from pro:

You are entitled to your review, but please present all the facts from both the customer's side and the contractor's. you failed to mention that we had the courtesy to leave the bill open till completion of the job, which was supposed to only be a few weeks. After two and a half months of trying to contact and chase you down, we finally received an email saying we improperly installed the tub and you deserve a discounted price for the work. Although we feel the issue was minor and was not a support for the tub, but merely something to help level it, you decided to unnecessarily have a structural engineer fight your battle. We stand behind our work but you did not give us ability to due that. we were never contacted about the problem, let alone given the opportunity to fix it ourselves. You decided to complete the job, then try and negotiate us down to get your price.

    Fix leak and replace taps

I had two leaks which I found I could not do myself. As I use HomeStars whenever I need help and have never been disappointed, I searched and found this company and, again was not disappointed. Steve came over within a couple of hours of my initial phone call and told me what had to be done and what parts were needed (some parts had lifetime warranty). I ordered the parts and Steve came over when they arrived and fixed both taps. He was very professional, knows his stuff, did not leave a mess and his price is very reasonable. Would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

    Install new toilet

I took off the afternoon for the installation. A call came in while I was home that he couldn't make it till the next day. Next day came in and installed. Tank leaked. I called and he returned. Tank still leaked, I called and was told my toliet must be defective and that that is common. I should return it and call him, He would install the replacement for a fee. My brother in law came over, readjusted the washer. No more leak

    Shower faucet fix

Ari responded promptly to my need for service on shower faucet that was giving me any hot water. I had had it "fixed" twice by other plumbers (at a cost of $200 each trip) who had apparently missed the root problem - a $0.10 washer that had worn out. Ari figured it all out in less than 15 mins and proceeded to fix permanently after that. Great job.

    Leaky BathTub / Stuck Drain

I had a leaky bathtub faucet and a clogged drain. Ari came over and fixed both promptly. He also came by the next day at no charge when it seemed like there was a problem with my water pressure (it was just a temporary thing from having the main valve off for an extended period.)
