    Etobicoke

Bought a New Furnace in 2013 from Aire One Peel and a new Air Conditioner last month. P.J. was terrific in helping us understand and appreciate the different types and sizes of product available and what would be right for our house. As well we were satisfied with the price after having done our homework. The installation team was the same both times and they were great. They came well prepared, took care to protect the property before they began work, cleaned up and removed all of the garbage and explained the systems in detail before leaving. Could not have expected any better service!

    Furnace and AC Replacement

Hi, Back in June, my older AC failed after a couple days of using it. With the rising temperature and humidity, I knew I was doomed if I didn't get something installed within a couple weeks. I always work with the rule of three and new the approximate size of the system that would require installation. As such, i was able to obtain a high level quote from two companies (the third one never got back to me) and Mike Zuliani, from Air One, recommended coming out to inspect my home for a proper quote. Upon inspection, Mike noted that my furnace was also undersized (which was true as I knew about this when I purchase the home earlier in the year as the inspector had called it out as well). Mike recommended a package deal in replacing the AC and Furnace together. He recommended a York system. I wasn't familiar with York systems vs stacking up against other systems like Lennox, I searched online and it seemed to be one of the higher end systems. I also confirmed with some other folks in the industry and they noted that it was a good brand, but to see if the system would be modulating and high efficiency. Mike Zuliani came back with a few different options to install the AC and furnace. I worked with him an a price that worked for the both of us. Mike was very knowledgeable and very professional. I would sometimes be e-mailing him at 9pm or 10pm at night asking questions and working on the price, and he would be answering within 30 mins. I needed the AC installed within a week given a home gathering that I was having at my home and didn't want the place to be a sauna. Mike was able to organize the installers and have them schedule d to replace the furnace and AC within a week. The installers themselves - Jason, Scott, and Edwin came to do the job. They were very polite, professional, and friendly folks. I didn't worry about them being in my house having to watch them. I can't remember who it was, it may have been Jason, but he noticed a wiring issue near my furnace, and separate from the installation and fixed it for me. I really appreciated them calling out the issue and fixing it for me. This was above and beyond. The installation took the day. The AC unit was large and they build a nice level pad for the new AC to fit. The furnace was installed Overall performance of the furnace has been fantastic. Mike was true to his claims that the furnace / AC would cool my place within a short period of time. Prior, I could hardly feel any air blowing in my upstairs vents. With the new AC and furnace, lots of flow was coming out of the registers. I'm glad Mike recommended the larger unit as it's worked great over the summer. Our furnace worked every day at the same temperature per hour all day and our electricity bill was only 150 per month, which is outstanding. I'm really impressed with the York system and I believe in the claim that its a true high efficiency system. Note that I did experience an issue, there was water leaking out of the furnace at the end of July. The service rep was over within a couple days and it was a quick fix (the coil drainage line was blocked with something). I believe that Air One in Kitchener is a professional company with competitive prices. Mike, Jason, Scott, and Edwin were all professional and I'm very happy with my investment with them. Thank you

    Furnace and AC

It needs to be clarified that the parts have a 10 year warranty but the labour isn't included if you don't pay $200-$300 a year in maintenance. Thats well over $2000 or $3000 in maintenance costs over 10 years....it seems a little high - and I already paid $6300 for the furnace and AC - you'd think it would be ok. yearly maintenance seems a bit excessive.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for your comment. Your heating and cooling equipment require regular maintenance just like cars. The moving components, safty controls, sensors and drains required to be maintained on annual basis. More over manufacturers and TSSA the governing body of HVAC industry recommened regular maintenance of natural gas equipments. We perform complete inspection, cleanig, safty check of your equipment at the time of annual maintenance which is good for your equipment and safty and comgort of your family. If you decide not to perform manufacture required maintenance you can still enjoy Aire One standard warranty. Please call us, your satisfaction is guranteed. Kevin

    Hot Water Tank Repaire

Had issue with 6 and a half year old hot water tank. Paid $100+tax for a tech to come in to do a diagnostic. I reset the unit a couple of times after I called them (by unplugged the power and plunged the power back in). When the tech came, the unit was working. Was quoted $750 + tax ($700 for gas vault and $50 for pipe) to have the issue fixed. Figured for that kind of money, might just buy a new unit. Last week, had the same issue. Power reset did not do the trick this time, so called another company for a quote for a new tank. Was told over the phone that almost certain it is the sensor problem. Has a tech in, spent 10 minutes to clean the flame sensor. Payed $120, the tank is back in business.

Has a tech in, spent 10 minutes to clean the flame sensor. Payed $120, the tank is back in business. Update: I did call in, was told that I have to replace the parts for $750 +tax as per quote, or get $100 credit if I chose to have a new tank installed. However, the price quoted for the new tank was much higher than another big company's. That is why I called the other company.

    Answer from pro:

As the customer mentioned, when our Aire One technician arrived at the home, the hot water tank was working fine, even after a few resets. The technician therefore could not make any proper diagnosis since there was no problem found. He only SUGGESTED that it could be the gas valve and gave a price to have that part replaced. He told the customer to call us back if the tank acted up again and if it was within 30 days there would be no additional service fee for our tech to come back (as per Aire One's 30 day labour policy). However, the customer decided to call another company instead and spent another $120.

    Ductless Mitsubishi Mr.Slim

The initial reason I chose to go with Aire One was because of the Home Stars reviews and ratings (much higher) at the time last year when I was shopping around for quotes. Rod was extremely helpful and very attentive in answering questions and gave me a customized quote (including measurements for all my rooms and recommending units that would best suit my needs) for my Downtown Toronto home Although Aire One was not one of the cheaper of the many quotes I received to install my 5-head ductless Mitsubshi slim unit, I found Rod and the Aire One to be very helpful. Another reason I chose Aire One was because of the warranty claims they made on both the install and any on-going warranty issues. When it came to installation, I was not as pleased when they cut my brick/wall and ran pipes through the middle of my walls in my bedroom. However, we level-set and the installation crew (of which could not speak English well) agreed to run it through the attic and install a pump as required (which was in my quote initially anyway). Similar story in my living room where I now have a large PVC tube that is glued to the wall. I found that the crew struggled to run electrical until I suggested they could use power from my old baseboard heaters. When the installation completed, Rod came back and requested an additional $600. When I questioned it, he replied that it took extra labour and parts that were not accounted for in my invoice (that I had already paid). Needless to say, I did not think of this as a professional business practice considering the unit and installation already cost $15,000. Less than a year later on the hottest day this summer, all the units suddenly stopped working. When I gave Aire One a call, they took my information and never called me back. A day later, I call again and they mention that another Aire One location is looking after my request. After calling multiple times, a technician finally came to my home - briefly looked at the unit and said it's an electrical issue and demanded I pay $111. After another full day of calling and arguing with Fred from Service (who was extremely rude and not professional) continually said it's not their fault and they are not electricians (although they installed it). I finally reached Rod from Sales who sent out an independent experienced electrician. When the electrician arrived, he discovered that due to spotty electrical work during my install, my breaker had literally melted due to arching in my fuse panel; the breaker used was incorrect When I called Aire One back and asked to refund my $111 (considering I had to pay an electrician), they simply refused. I urge anyone looking to use Aire One Heating & Cooling to stay away. I'm just lucky there was no fire! I would not take any of their warranty claims seriously considering they could not install the unit correctly and refused to provide service when I called repeatedly.

    Answer from pro:

We are very sorry to see you are not happy with installation of your ductless system. Please call us,we do our very best to remedy the issue and to earn your trust and satisfaction. Truly Aire One

    Installed,carrier furnace

AireOne in Newmarket Ontario, is probably the most untrained and unprofessional group of Service personnel around this area. Service calls are not taken seriously and the general attitude is one of indifference.

    Answer from pro:

Dear Greg Thank you for your feed back. I am happy that the furnace service was provided to you last winter while you were out of the country within 24 hours of your initial contact and air conditioner service was provided yesterday within 24 hours of your inquiry after hours. I am also pleased that the technician arrived on time as promised and the issue was resolved right away at no cost to you under warranty.I understand that you were given a time window of 8-9 pm for the technician's arrival and he arrived at about 8:30. We can not guarantee arrival at a particular time, like you probably excepted, and respectfully always ask our customers to pick a time window at their convenience. Thanks again

Diagnostic for a Air Conditioner Repaur

What a horrible company to deal with. They came to diagnose my ac and as a result unplugged certain components of the ac that were functioning properly. In addition, beware of this company they will get you to replace perfectly good components. The management team at the mississauga location is horrible and head office is just as bad. Horrible company to deal with. There are many companies that are more professional and use licenced technicians.

    Answer from pro:

This customer is a perfect example of why homeowners should not attempt to repair HVAC units on their own, unless they are licensed to do so. The Aire One technician tested the A/C and determined that the fan motor needed to be replaced. This is all that he did. The customer decided to try to save money and bought his own motor and attempted to replace it himself (after a lengthy conversation, he admitted this to us). However he was unable to install it correctly and called us back to fix it. We were ready to send a technician for another service call fee (which we felt was fair since we were going there a second time to fix his mistake) but he refused to pay. This is why he wrote this inaccurate review of our company. Its unfortunate that some people feel the need to tell lies when they don't get their way but that's exactly what has happened in this instance. Aire One takes pride in its work, and will always act quickly to rectify any issues with its service and/or installations. However in this case, Aire One did not change the fan motor, the customer did it himself, and therefore has only himself to blame for the A/C not working.

    furnace/AC

I have been a customer of aireone for almost 4 years now, I trust them to perform my annual maintenance/inspection their service technicians are very experienced and knowledgeable. They do a very thorough check and it seems to work because I havent had a break down in the middle of winter even though my equipment was over 17 years old. I recently decided that it was time to get with the times and replace my equipment and although I was confident in this company, some friends told me to shop around. It was a waste of time because nobody could offer me the high end equipment at the price they did. The sales rep also helped me understand what all the commotion is about with all the different types of furnaces these days.. I ended up getting a modulating one.. I no longer have the annoying temperature fluctuations I did before and I wish I had upgraded my equipment long ago.. better late than never I guess! I would highly recommend Aireone
