Our concrete laneway and backyard patio stones needed to be replaced, so we called M Scott Home Improvements based on their reviews. We are extremely happy with our decision because Michael and his team did a fantastic job. Michael was very communicative throughout the process and his team delivered expert work with no surprises. They finished on time despite several days of inclement weather. We've received several compliments from neighbours and we've been happy to refer them to Michael. I would highly recommend M Scott Home Improvements for any one looking for concrete work.

We had water pooling on the side of our house during heavy rains as the concrete in that area was very old and not directing water away from the foundation. I asked a neighbour who had done his beautiful concrete work and he passed on Mike's information to me. Mike was great. He returned my call very quickly and came and looked at the situation and gave me a quote right away. The crew was really friendly, and explained how the concrete would be poured and answered all my questions. The job was done quickly and looks terrific!

I was completing a renovation on a 100+ yr old semi-detached home. I was in need of a concrete contractor for bench footing to add 16" to the height of my basement ceiling. Seeing M Scott company is a 4 time winner of HomeStars Best-of awards, I opted to work with Mike and his team. The project cost was pricier but service delivery was excellent and definitely worth every dollar. Mike and his team stands out for 3 reasons: 1) Communicates and schedules effectively with general-contractor and myself, the owner. Whenever there were any delays (caused by inspections or general contractor), Mike was consistent in follow-up to check on progress and remained flexible in scheduling. He also kept me in-the-know throughout the process, which is not a common practice in this industry. 2) Expertly navigated requirements of City's building permit inspector and my structural engineer. We had a particularly picky inspector, so the Mike's ability to work with the engineer to address concerns in a timely fashion kept delays to a minimal. 3) Demonstrates sense of urgency and "do whatever it takes mentality". eg. For a plumbing inspection, already running late, the master plumber indicated he forgot to bring a ball for the drain Ball Test. After we all frantically and unsuccessful called nearby plumbing supplies stores for availability, Mike jumped into his truck and purchased a cue ball from a nearby billiards hall. Thinking on his feet and willing to roll up his sleeve - excellent. Save yourself some headaches and go with Mike's team.

I am very happy with the work M Scott Home Improvements did to waterproof my foundation wall on one side. He sent his team in on time and finished in a short time and so far - we need a heavy rainfall or a snow melt to test it out - I am happy with the experience and the condition of the site when they left. The team leader Darren was very responsive and Mike was there daily to check the site. The whole project was completed professionally and the experience was worry free which allowed me to tend to a seriously ill spouse as well as manage my business. We're a family owned Toronto based design firm and we needed help with our investment property to pour our basement slab with a polished finish and in-floor heating. We were referred to Mike as he was well reviewed and experienced in this field. Mike and his team were an absolute pleasure to deal with professionally from start to finish and we recommend using his company. We're more than happy with the results and will happily refer him to our clients in the future.

Mike and his team waterproofed a section of my home's foundation, which required removing a section of deck and digging, partly, in a very tight space between the adjacent house and my own. His quote was transparent and straightforward, and although he came in higher than the competition my partner and I are very satisfied with our choice. He and his small crew were quick, tidy, and very professional. The deck was removed very cleanly; the dig and waterproofing happened without a hitch; and they were careful and considerate of the space we share with our neighbours. They left the work area spotless, as well as the front yard, where the loose soil was stored during the job. Mike was also very communicative and responsive to my questions, both before the job was awarded and during the work period. All in all a great experience with this company -- thanks again, guys.

Mike from M Scott Home Improvements helped me with a concrete foundation for a hot tub installation. Mike was quick to return my call inquiring into his services and was accessible throughout the process. He always made time for my calls and answered all my questions. He was professional and honoured his commitment from a time and budget standpoint. Mike was fast. This was a small job and we'd been having trouble getting a contractor in Toronto who would quote us a reasonable price or even just come to take a look. Mike did both - and the work was done inside of a few days. He was great to deal with. The crew he sent was also good - polite, efficient, good listeners. We're happy.
