Hello Sandy. Thanks for your feedback. I am not aware of this situation as we do not generally cancel appointments unless it's by the customer's request. We have had some cancellations in the past due to equipment malfunctions and employee emergencies but this hasn't really happened for a bit and definitely not frequently enough for three instances. I also tried looking for Sandy in our system and the only person that comes up is from a couple years ago (I assume this may be a shortened name or the appointment may be under someone else) so please give us a call and we can discuss this further with you once I'm aware of the entire situation. Hello Tina, Here is what I emailed you this morning - I hope you received it. Thanks for your inquiry. It is not that only $55 was taken off the bill, it's that we collect GST on the $55 since Dealfind sells all over North American and does not charge any taxes at the time of purchase (on your coupon it says not valid for taxes). The standard package that we have is 1 furnace and 10 vents for $140 (Value of the coupon). You paid $55 for this coupon (savings of $85). On your bill, both the full price and the coupon price are listed in order for us to calculate GST. We can calculate it SHOWING us taking off $140 as well but that would mean that the GST is calculated based on $140 - which would be wrong since you only paid $55 for the coupon and that's all that we have to redirect to the government for GST. If we calculated the GST on the $140 then it would indeed be considered 'scandalous practice'. I did speak with my team after they completed this job and let me know that you were upset and I was going to contact you today. Please note that all the services that you received were very much needed and my techs recommended them to Harry and he saw the value in them and decided to go ahead. Your bill was just under $300 total (including coupon value which is subtracted) but that isn't all for just the basic cleaning. You received: Furnace Chimney Cleaning: $90.00 Humidifier Pad: $45.00 Flame Sensor: $35.00 Total: $170.00 Total additional vents on basic cleaning: $40.00 Total: $210.00 GST: $10.50 Total: $220.50 You paid: $223.25 Difference: $2.75 which is the GST on the coupon value of $55. It is not 'scandalous practice', it is simply the GST that you owe (and we collect) to the government for the sale value of our service (Dealfind $55 coupon). Hope this clears things up.
