It was fun dealing with Greg and Randy of Crucial Roof Services. As well, they did everything promptly. Their preliminary response (based on our photos), their on-roof inspection and their repair/upgrade happened within a couple of weeks of our first enquiry.
All along, we understood what was happening. That's because Greg conversed pleasantly about it while referring to the roof itself, photos, repair materials and problem materials (removed from the roof). By the end, we had received a gallery of before-and-after photos with commentary.
Crucial got the job done quickly despite spending plenty of time with us, since they worked so efficiently. We had been ready to pay for total re-roofing, but the after-tax bill was only $2,362, consistent with the estimate. That included re-roofing of some problem areas and installation of three large vents because the attic had been constructed without venting.
High heat had apparently caused expanding attic air to force its way out through the roof, with effects that included blistering in the problem areas of the torch-on roofing, along with strips where little protection from precipitation remained. The shortcomings had been pretty much latent for almost twenty years, but the higher temperatures of the past two summers had seemingly turned the unfortunate situation into damage that would get worse.
When Greg and Randy showed us material they had removed, the previous roofers mistakes were obvious, but Greg indicated that the previous company has high standards, implying that the mistakes were an exception. We think the fairness and respectful approach typify him. Greg then indicated that the roofing will now last for many more years, likely at least ten years.
We had non-roofing questions, such as window ones, since new windows may be one of our next renovations, and Greg and Randy helped us with whatever we asked before moving on. As unpretentious as Crucial Roofing are, they are also professional, with consistent integrity. Quite the experience.
