    Furnace Replacement

    Nate came by and did a very thorough walk down of job. He spent over an hour at my home and answered every single question I had (which there were a lot of). He even pointed items that the previous other 3 companies I received quotes from did not even mention. He showed me pictures of previous installs that Distinct had done which set them apart from the other companies I approached as the others did not show me any pictures. Nate and his team were a pleasure to work with and were very courteous. They replaced my 20 year old Lennox furnace and 40 galloon hot water tank with a new York Affinity YP9C furnace, Rheem Pro+50S 50 gallon hot water tank, 5" media furnace filter, Honeywell Prestige IAQ 2.0 thermostat with internet gateway, and Honeywell HE100 flow-through humidifier. The install took 2 days and they arrived exactly when they said they would. No issues at all during the installation. After the install Nate came by and walked me through the entire system. He even ensured that my settings on My Total Connect Comfort (Honeywell internet control software) were all correct and optimized my system as best possible. He ensured I was 100% satisfied and I was. I can say that Distinct was one of the most expensive quotes I received but the install quality was well worth it. It you forecast out the extra cost over the life of the furnace (~20 years) the difference is quite minimal on a per year basis considering the quality of products and install. Typically you get what you pay for and this is a prime example of that. I would definitely recommend Distinct to anyone looking for quality products and a high quality install. In my opinion Distinct does the best installs in Calgary. I have been through many $2 million plus show homes since the install and all the other installations are clearly of lower quality (pipe glue dripping down all the pipes, wires zip tied to random places and hanging all over the place, piping not level and straight...). You can tell that Distinct installers actually care about their job and the work they do. Another added benefit was that the price I paid matched the quote exactly. My furnace has been working flawlessly for the past 3 weeks and my home is much more comfortable with the fully modulating furnace. My basement, which used to be 5-6 degrees colder than the main floor, is nearly the same temperature as the main floor now. All-in-all I feel the majority of the service providers in Calgary could learn a thing or two from Distinct Heating and Cooling. It's nice to see a company that actually takes pride in their work.

    Install venting in attic for new bathroom fan and range hood; also had a furnace tune-up sometime later

    Nate is to the point and makes it clear he does the job right. His installation of vents in my attic made sure there would be no condensation issues, unlike other quotes I had that were cheaper because they cut corners. Jordan, who did the work, was on time, courteous, professional. My attic was reinsulated afterwards and they commented the work was very good. I more recently had Distinct tune-up my furnace. Jordan also did that work and my >10 year old h/e furnace has never run so well! Jason explained everything he did, including turing down the pressure which was too high. My ducting has always banged when the furnace fan turned off and does not any more! Another quote I had said I should bolt a pipe through the ducting to keep it from moving, clearly not addressing the issue. My furnce runs less and my house is less drafty, so money well spent. I will always use Dinstinct from now on.

    Furnace Installation

    Nate's team is top notch! We just purchased a 110 year old home, which has a handful of poorly thought out DIY install jobs. The old furnace wasn't a pretty sight. In my research on getting a new furnace one of the things that kept popping up was that the new furnace itself didn't matter nearly as much as the quality of the installation. We gathered quotes from numerous highly reviewed contractors, and Distinct was without question the contractor that made us feel that absolutely nothing would be overlooked. Nate spent the time to thoroughly inspect all aspects of our current furnace system and consider the most efficient ways to improve it with a new furnace and related work. He spotted a number of legitimate things that none of the others saw. Distinct weren't the cheapest quote we received, but they also weren't that much higher than quotes from other respected contractors. The team that worked on the repairs and the install were exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and respectful. The new furnace is running fantastically since the install, and when I had a question a couple weeks after the install, Nate answered right away! Strong work all around. Highly recommended.

    Furnace and hot water heater replacement

    Distinct Heating replaced our two furnaces and hot water heater in July 2015. We had several quotes, but we were impressed from the start with Nate's enthusiasm, knowledge, and attention to detail. Although his price wasn't the lowest, we felt most comfortable that we were getting the best product for our needs and it was going to be installed right. The installation team was professional, courteous, and tidy. The installation was completed on time and as originally quoted, and we could not be happier with the quality of workmanship. You can see in the photos by the paint on the floor how much extra space we now have in the furnace room, and how the new equipment and pipes line up perfectly. I would recommend Nate and his team without hesitation!

    New Furnace Intallation

    I was very impressed with Nate and his crew. Everything was very well explained. The crew arrived on time and the job they did looked very professional. They did an excellent job of the clean up. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new furnace. Louise G

    Air conditioning installation/furnace room

    Nate and his team were courteous, on time, and on budget. Which is more than I can say for our general contractor who built our home! Nate fixed installation issues with our furnace, tidied up our mechanical room, and did a great job installing our two air conditioners. Nate and his team are professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Distinct Heating & Cooling!

    A/C installlation

    We decided to go with Distinct Heating & Cooling for a new AC unit because we were very impressed with the amount of detail Nate went into and the time he spent explaining our options when he came out to do the estimate. Nate and his team did a great job on the installation of our AC unit. They were quick and very clean. We are very happy with how everything turned out.

    Furnace Replacement

    Great service and workmanship. They did a comprehensive quote, including optional additions to make our system work better. Felt absolutely no pressure to go with them for the work or include any of the extra items. They explained why our furnace was encountering so many problems, showing where airflow was restricted and why the humidifier wasn't working. They booked us in quickly so that we would have the new furnace in before the cold weather hit, and completed the job as scheduled. They left the work space clean and were very polite to deal with. The new furnace is quieter, more efficient, and much smaller than our old one. Nate took the time to explain different models and options to figure out what worked best for our family and our budget. They were also able to custom fabricate new duct work which looks and functions far better than the old setup did. Outstanding company to work with.

    Central air conditioner install

    Finally I have some time to write the review (sorry, folks) and doing it with great pleasure. Let me begin by saying that recently I had a very unpleasant experience with a local business (unfortunately!) and was very cautious about making the decision hiring someone to install central air conditioner. Nate is great! I would like to believe that in all the years working with different technologies I've developed a decent sense for either dishonesty or embellishment when it comes down to sales speeches. There was none of that here! I would definitely call Distinct Heating and Cooling a top quality very affordable company. I also decided to replace my existing humidifier control and the old thermostat with Honeywell Total Control product with remote control and external sensor - money well spent! That added a good chunk to the cost. Without it the cost would be quite lower. The job that Nate and the crew did is very clean and professional. Nate showed some examples of poor job and it looked awful. I saw similar pictures on different forums when I was doing research and too true - a lot of angry folks out there because of that). At first I was waiting to get through some decent heat wave to write the review, so I could really test the system (then got super busy with work.. not making excuses!;)). So the answer is - YES, it works great as advertised. Here is what I find kind of interesting - it doesn't matter how hot it is inside, air conditioner drops 0.5 degree in 5 minutes. Often I would come home and it's about 27 degrees inside. Also depending on if it's a sunny day or partly cloudy (it does make a huge difference - on sunny days walls radiate noticeable heat), it would drop down to 24 degrees in about 20-25-30 minutes. But (here is the good part), while maintaining the house cool, it doesn't turn often even on sunny days. During the last heatwave we had, my outside sensor showed 38-39 degrees (it's behind something but on the sunny afternoon side) and it was super comfortable inside and the unit would turn on, run for a couple of minutes, not much longer, and then it sits quite for a while. Thanks again to Nate and the Company. P.S. We'll see how it turns back on after winter, but I have faith!:)

    Air Conditioning

    Great service from start to finish and installation was very professional. Very knowledgeable and completed job on time and on budget, no surprises. Would highly recommend them to anyone considering looking to have any HVAC work done.
