Although the work on-site was completed efficiently, the total scope includes travel time, labor and operating costs. In this case, the job involved approximately one hour of travel each way, along with setup and safe removal of snow and ice from the roof. For this service, there were two team members on-site, along with two vehicles. When factoring in labour time (including travel), fuel, insurance, equipment, and general operating costs, the margin on this type of work is actually quite modest.
