Moving of furniture and personal items from Florida to ontario

I was first told by the manager of operations I would only be paying $1900 or less. Then when it got shipped was $2450. They had told me my stuff was going to be picked up by July 8, it was not picked up till beginning of August. They delayed my shipment 3 times and their shipping company then charged me for packaging of furniture and mattresses when the stuff was already pre-wrapped before it was picked up. I then got a call from the storage company that garbage was left behind in the unit which ended up costing me more in my final out to the storage company. I would STRONGLY suggest to NOT allow this company to do your moving for you. Completely dishonest and inconsiderate. They acted nice and professional on phone but when it came to the service completely lacking any kind.

    Kingsway Van Lines Sucks

I am looking for an adj better than aweful to describe them. Liz the head of the gang is the worst. To be fair, they are really polite and take calls whenever you call. But there are better ways if you enjoy talking to polite strangers on the "phone". They have no idea what promise, trust, and time managmnet mean. To stay calm and safe, stay away.

    Moving Service

I hired the Kingsway Van Lines for moving my stuff (one-bedroom suite) from Toronto to Vancouver and two to three month storage which couldn't be fixed at the beginning. Before finalizing the selection of moving company, I had several worries because of controversial reviews about this company in internet. So I met Liz, the senior operating manager of Kingsway at her office and she professionally ensured me the quality and an on-time service. Pick up in Toronto was excellent. The guys were professional and did their job very well on Sunday, a day before I flew away to oversees . As I planned to find and rent my suite in Vancouver after coming back from oversees, I informed them about my address in Vancouver just a few days before my move in date and surprisingly all my stuff were delivered on the day of my move-in with my best satisfaction. I highly recommend the Kingsway Van Lines Inc as a very reliable professional mover.

Dishonest! Price and weight doubled between pick-up and delivery!!

Between pick-up and delivery, the weight (and so the price) of our stuff magically almost doubled! (from 1200lbs to 1900lbs!) We weight everything carefully (my wife worked in shipping) and we get approximately 1200lbs of stuff we were moving from Montreal to Vancouver. We have never been told when the truck gonna arrived until we called ourselves the very day of the delivery, and when it arrived without notice our stuff weight was magically 1900lbs!!!!!! (plus charges we never heard of before delivery!). We have also never been told of this, we discovered it at the delivery. We called the head office to get explanations but they threaten us to charge us for making the movers waits, with also additional charges for a second delivery and a rescalling if we refused to pay! As they refuses to give us our stuff previous payment, we were completely hostages for them as they got all our belongings. We are sure of the weights of our stuff. In our opinion, they have been completely dishonest! DO NOT MOVE WITH THEM!

move from ontario to new brunswick

Quoted 1100 charged 2500. Horrible service ..took 2 weeks to get it..men were rude and tore up our lawn and trees trying to bring a truck the size of a small buiness in the driveway! When it would obviously not fit we were charged more again even though it was just being placed in a storage- easy job as it is. Came into our home without knocking and tracked muddy feet throughout. I definitely would not recommend! :(

Moving - Toronto to Madawaska Valley

STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND - Labour was great at both ends. Picked up on Friday 1 bedroom condo - was suppose to be delivered next day. Actual delivery date six days later. Left without cloths, furniture, belongings. When we called to say this was unacceptable they said they would call us back - they did not - when we tried to contact office again they would not take our calls. Price paid was more than double what was quoted. Very poor customer service - when we asked to speak to someone else in the office (ie: owner) were told he is never in the office. Would never recommend Kingsway to ANYONE period.

Cross Country Move - Ontario to Alberta

I moved using Kingway from Toronto, Ontario (Brampton) to Downtown Calgary, Alberta. The move went very smoothly from start to finish. On the Toronto side the staff was very friendly and worked with me to arrange a late evening pickup. They tagged everything and were very careful. Three weeks later my stuff was in Edmonton and a local company there (Real Canada Wide Moving Services Inc) was taking over to deliver to my home in Calgary, AB. They were just as friendly and professional as Kingsway, delivered my furniture and boxes on a Saturday morning. Providing the Kingsway invoices and original scaling ticket. The whole process was easy, no damage as far as I can tell, removed the stress out of such a long distance move. Thanks Kingsway!

    Toronto / Moncton Move

You may look at the range of reviews here and wonder why some are glowing and others condemn the quality of service. The answer is that Kingsway merely acts as a broker and, as far as I can tell, does not take any responsibility for the movers they sub-contract the work to. I have worked in real estate for many years and,in the past, had clients who used Kingsway with positive results. It certainly seems like things have changed. I helped a client arrange a move from Toronto to Moncton last summer and Kingsway provided the worst service I have seen in over 25 years. The 3 movers who showed up in a no-name truck did so 3 hours beyond the 11 am - 1 pm promised pick up. When contacted about the delay, Kingsway at first said they would be there in 20 minutes and then an hour later said they couldn't contact the driver. This meant that they only had 2 hours before the elevator had to go off service at 6 pm. They rushed the move, damaged walls and furniture and then claimed it was all there in the first place. When delivered, furniture that was less than 6 months old was broken, had split seams and was chipped. The answer from Kingsway was that none of this was their responsibility but they offered a laughable $75 as compensation. So if you contract this company to move your goods be aware that you may get the conscientious sub-contractor who takes care of your things but you may also get the "we don't care" types who will treat your furniture like items being taken to the trash. Kingsway will act so apologetic and tell you to file a claim that they will then ignore until you call to follow up on. My advise, do you want the risk of ending up with torn, crushed, chipped and broken items when they arrive at your new home? Then don't use Kingsway. And one last tip, if you use them they will give you an itemized list of everything they have loaded. They will do this at the end when they are running out the door and it will describe everything as "damaged". That is how honest they are.

    Movers

I hired Kingsway Van Lines for move from Edmonton to Vancouver in September 2014. I researched a bunch of options, online, and emailed with their seemingly competent rep Liz, many times before commiting to the company. I was promised a 6 day delivery time and quoted about $1400 for a small move. 6 days after they picked up my goods, no phone call. So I called the office, no answer. I left a voicemail. And so this went for a few days. I finally get someone on the line and ask where my things are. They don't know. They'll call dispatch. 3 days later... they still don't know. Fast forward to 2 weeks after my stuff has left Edmonton. I call, they've found the truck. Can they deliver it? No. It's not in Vancouver yet. Ugh. They do have a quote for me tho! And it's about 3900lbs. So should be about $4000. WHAT?? So I question the bill. No one can give me an answer as to why. "It's by weight of your goods" they say. I tell them repeatedly, there is no way that my stuff weighs more than 2000 lbs. The price should not exceed around $1500. More days go by....So they weight it again. Oh whoops, its actually 3600 lbs. Riiiight... Knowing it is not anywhere close to that weight, I advise them I will find a way to weigh the goods myself, if need be, it's wrong. They finally offer to have me go to a warehouse, where my things are now located. And they are not going to deliver until I pay the bill. I watch some workers put a crate, holding my goods, on a scale. It comes out to around 2000 lbs. MAGICAL!! When they're being watched, my items lose half their weight?? I must learn how that happens!! The bill was then corrected the proper weight. Geez. Long story but a ton learned in the process. I finally got my things delivered. My coffee table was smashed in half, many boxes were crushed. Anything with movers wrap on it had half the wrap pulled off and ripped. Many items have sizable dings, scratches and dents. I actually had someone elses bed slats and curtain rod mixed in with my stuff as well. The delivery guys would not give me a copy of the contract. I called the office a few times and no one returned my call. I asked for the manager's manager, who was never in office and never returned my calls either. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They are outright con artists. So long as they get your money, they don't care what happened to your things or how long it takes for you to get them. HORRIBLE experience and I tell everyone I know to never use them.
