Gopal, the owner of the Herc Du SOleil is an amazing person to work with. I talked to a few solar insallers to compare their knowledge, commitments, customer services, and price competitiveness. I decided to go with him for a couple of reasons. He is the owner and also the person who does the installation (unlike some of the installers take your money and outsource the works to somebody else). He has been in this business for a long period of time. In a couple of conversation with him prior to the work, he convinced me he is someone who cares a lot about the quality and reputation of his work, cares about his customers and perhaps most importatly trustworthy. The end-to-end project took a few months and it was a smooth sail throughout. I didn't have to think or worry a bit, because Gopal took care of all the required works, such as permit applications, arrange inspections, roof-top installatons, etc. I didn't need to ask him to rework anything either because he did the work cleanly and perfectly. All in all, this is a painless and pleasant project. I highly recommend Gopal if you are looking for a solar contractor to make the installation.

I cant say enough about Gopal and his team. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, trustworthy, professional and responsive. Gopal responded to my request to have my solar panels removed in a very timely fashion and did a wonderful job. We selected Herc du Soleil after contacting several contractors. Gopal was the most knowledgeable and his quote was the most reasonable. He managed all stages of the project (proposal, permit application, connection, building inspection, ESA approval..). He was always responsive, friendly and able to answer all our questions. We are completely satisfied with the project.

Herc De Soleil helps us installed a 11kW system in May. Their workmanship and product knowledge are excellent. Gopal is very helpful and detail orientated. He have all the document and permit ready in a speedy manner, and he even help us to explain the detail to our home insurance agent to make our insurance coverage add on smoothly. My system has already generated over 4400KW in three months, it does cover over 90% of my usage. I am very happy with the system and Gopal service

Herc De Soleil removed and replaced panels for a roof shingle replacement. They arrived on time, worked fast and cleaned up properly. Equally important they identified problems with the original installation, replaced squirrel chews wires, installed squirrel barrier and fixed the on-line monitoring system. Communication was fantastic and I leaned a lot that my original installer (now out of business) did not tell me.

We had many quotes from different size and type services. We needed a solar system that will work with our farm property. We chose Herc de Soleil based on Gopal's total sense of understanding the job from start to finish. The biggest benefit I found working with Gopal was his expertise and unique problem solving abilities to overcome and deal with every detail of the project from quoting, engineering reports, permit applications, ESA certification, safety aspects, and completion of project all on his own. No middle men, no subcontractors handed over. He is the man in charge and he is a perfectionist. Every detail looked after and all visually perfect.

We chose Gopal at Herc Du Soleil for our solar project after looking at his exceptional Homestars reviews and getting quotes from a couple solar providers. He provided a very thorough quote in a timely fashion, and his was very competitive. Gopal was very responsive to texts and emails throughout, often responding late in the evening or on weekends. We got a new standing seam metal roof installed at the same time, and he was fabulous at coordinating parts of the installation process with the roofing job, as well as finding new technology to allow installation to occur with low profile and with no fittings piercing the metal roof, thanks to S5 Clamp technology. With a couple months delay between quoting the project and being able to get it going after getting permits in order, slightly higher powered panels were available and he upgraded the project to those without changing the price. He and his workers did a great job installing the solar panels in the middle of a cold snap, working for about 8 hours straight on a cold day to get all 22 panels installed in one day, which was more time-consuming than usual due to them not simply installing on a rack system as usual. He personally worked a few hours on another day to install the inverter in our garage, and even carefully cut some plywood of ours to cover up the studs and insulation where the inverter needed to be installed (location of a former window). The installation was clean and he worked with us to get the internet link up and running with our router for monitoring and maintenance. He and his electrician spent one more day to get the disconnect installed and the system hooked into the main panel. After the system was brought online, we noted some spikes in the power generation with a few periods where production would drop off during mid-day when we'd expect top production, even on sunny days. I emailed Gopal who said he'd keep an eye on it, and from that day, production was excellent. He had upgraded the software and worked with SolarEdge tech support to adjust parameters on the inverter to avoid some power surges from Toronto Hydro from causing the inverter to shut off at times. His responsiveness, knowledge and work ethic are exceptional, and Gopal and Herc Du Soleil come with my highest recommendation. (Any wonkiness in the panels in the photos is due to underlying irregularities in the metal roof, as the panels were installed without a rack system)

THANKS TO GOPAL'S TEAM FOR THEIR HERCULEAN EFFORTS!! On Dec 21st, 2020, I was waiting for delivery of new equipment to replace eighteen, nine year-old solar panels and a string inverter, damaged by construction happening next door. So I was upset when a Home "Starred" solar panel installer withdrew from our agreement. This particular star was unfamiliar with AP micro-inverters, couldn't arrange for help, and wouldn't venture on icy roofs. And so, with my equipment in transit across Canada, I had to again ask for help through Home Stars. The leader of Herc de Soleil, Gopal Shrestha responded to my request with a fair quote, and in two weeks his team of installers and electricians had finished the job. I happily paid Gopal for a few inexpensive incidentals beyond the quoted amount. I should have given him a bonus for superb on-site problem solving. Gopal delivered fast, timely, quality service and was very pleasant to work with. He also promised to provide us with a followup maintenance service at a low hourly rate. I am truly amazed how my 2020 troubles were resolved so immediately in 2021. What a great gift for the New Year. THANKS HERC!!

I needed to replace my roof and decided to go with a metal solution. I reached out to Gopal to do the RE and RE on my existing solar. I was very pleased with his knowledge and ease of dealing with myself and my roofer to work together and ensure a smooth installation.
