With so many water quality companies taking advantage, this is one that won't sell you what you don't need. Honest, reasonable, local. I highly recommend them for any water issue.

Shawn who is the owner of this company is very passionate about what he does. His confidence in what he represents makes it reassuring that I have a top notch quality system that will last and do what it is supposed to do! We are more than pleased that we went with this company! M

Shawn has been outstanding in terms of service!! So knowledgeable and honest, he deserves an award! He knew right away the problem we were having and installed the right product. When we encountered a separate water problem months later he helped via multiple emails and phone calls to help us troubleshoot the problem even though he wasn’t selling us any more equipment. Truly amazing, we will never work with anyone else in his field.

I contacted Shawn after reading his comments on his website...he sounded like he wanted to make water softener systems easy to understand and maintain. His price was reasonable and the install was fairly quick. I had done research into the types of systems available and his, with the Clack Valve, sounded best. Shawn is very personable and as we have only had the system a few days I can’t offer much in the way of follow-up responsiveness. He answers my emails and phone calls (asking questions) in a timely manner.

Found this company and so glad we did. He knew exactly how to solve our iron problem and hard water problem. His price couldn't be beat(had 3 quotes) and his customer service exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend him to anyone who is thinking about a water treatment system.

I was having problems with my water smelling. After having 3 other people in to take a look at the problem I called Shawn. He listened to everything I had to say and came over the very next day to assess the situation. Gave me my options and explained everything I needed to know to make a decision. Glad I found this comapny cause I was feeling defitted by water machines. Would recommend this company to anyone who is having water problems. And Shawn didn't try to rip me off like another water conditioning company I had come in to service their own machine.

Before moving forward with the purchase, we got 3 quotes from other sources. Shawn at Ottawa filters was by far the best in quality and price. Shawn took the time to review our needs and advise us on what we really needed to make the water safe for our family. I would recommend this company to everyone.

Shawn has serviced my iron sulphur filter and water softener on two occasions. Once when it was set up improperly by another service representative when it was installed, and another time after it had been off for some time. Not only was Shawn knowledgeable and skilled, but his service was fast and more than fair. I was really happy with the service because Shawn was interested in getting my unit working and not in making more money from me, which I respect. This goes a long way in terms of trust.

I work for the fire department and a few of us have used this company to fix our water problems over the last 5 years or so. I refer this guy often and have not heard any bad things about hime and came across this post. We have used him many times and none of us have had any problems with his system or service. One of reason we like him is that he is very knowledgeable about water and took a great deal of time to explain how water problems are fixed. Also when he installed everything he was able to fix. He also fixed up my plumbing around my pressure tank for free. That was really nice. Also what we liked was he showed us how things worked so we can fix things ourselves. This saves a lot of time and frustration. I also bought a uv light and what I really appreciated was Shawn told me to buy the replacements bulbs online because I would be able to get them cheaper compared to him. Shawn also told me how to change it myself because his business practice is to not have the customer rely on him. I did have a few issues at first and Shawn was very quick in returning my calls and helping me. Other people in my office have the same opinion of him and we keep referring him when every we have a chance. I would buy from him anytime the experience was very positive.

I found this company online as their website was one of the first to show up in my google searches. Doing my do diligence prior to buying anything and to ensure I understood the products and the companies I called and got quotes from about 6 local companies. 4 of which were the big name companies who had mixed reviews and the complaints about them all basically said the same about over priced failing or under performing systems but there were 2 companies that took the time to explain to me how their systems worked and had quotes that were less than all the others by over $1000 and they both promoted warranties and post-installation service and assistance. In the end I went with OttawaWaterFiltersCo because their website was "LOOKED" legit and there weren’t any negative reviews about it. Shawn the owner came out to do the install and that’s when the problems started. First I was mislead about discharging the backwash into the septic tank. I was told that it wouldn’t impact my concrete tank and that was not true. All that salt would for sure impact the bacteria balance of the tank, not to mention salt water is notoriously bad at degrading concrete which my tank is made of. They didn’t even use the correct fittings or connections to tie into the waste lines causing me to completely have to replace them and hundreds of dollars later when I had to properly drain the backwash to the sump pit. Next the RO system I was sold was supposed to have a 4 gal capacity. I was again mislead. Its capacity is only 2.5 gal before calculating the bladder which results in only a 1 gal actual capacity. I even showed him the water jug that I wanted to be able to fill in one attempt and was reassured it wouldn’t be a problem. After returning twice to review the system he finally called the manufacturer only to discover that the true capacities of the tank and proceeded to tell me if I wanted something bigger it would cost me hundreds of dollars extra even though the quote provided was for a 4 gal capacity. I later found another company that could offer me a larger tank for $65. After that getting a hold of him for questions like what kind of replacement filters to buy was difficult. Often taking weeks or months to get replies to my emails and my phone calls went unanswered and voicemails not returned. Finally my UV light stopped working. All I did was unplug the unit and plug it back in and it fried. Only 6 months after it was installed. When I requested for him to come out and replace the unit under warranty I got silence. I regret having gone with this company because in the end all the talk about how he prides himself on quickly getting back to his clients, always being there for them and warrantying his work was just that…..sales talk to get my business cause the moment he was paid all these statements went right out the windows. I would not recommend this company to anyone as I know there are better systems out there at the same cost.
