I went to Homestars and chose Captain Handy based upon reviews, I could not have chosen better. I wanted a revamp entirely of my backyard, but was struggling with what to do. Alex came by immediately offering his professional advice assistimg me with the design and provided a quote within a day. The work started almost immediately. We decided to put in interlocking, new fence with a gate for one side of the property, some new grass, a retaining wall and flower bed., pebble rock under fire escape. First thing every day Alex would come make sure everything was going as planned. The team was super professional, worked long days and the work was continuously done until complete. Alex was always, repsonsive if I had questions, and was willing to tweak things as we went. The team removed the entire back yard, cleaned up every day, was always considerate of the neighbours area when putting up the fence. Over 22 years of using contractors for various things, I have never had such a great exeperience with a contractor. I now have a beautiful backyard within 7 days of hard work from the Team. I highly recommend Captain Handy!!!

Highly recommend Alex and his crew. They started and completed on time and within budget quoted- no hidden surprises. All were very professional, courteous and hard working. Cleaned up at the end of each day and at end of project, hauling it all away. Very Happy with whole project.

The reason I called Captain Handy was because of their positive feedback on HomeStars and we are so glad we did. I live in a townhome with a shared front yard but I wanted to remove the grass, widen the driveway, replace the steps and create a privacy screen between the 2 homes to also hide the meter. We are so happy with how it all turned out. Alex and the crew were professional, clean, fast and wonderful at troubleshooting. Being in a townhome I was most worried about disrupting my neighbour's side and the crew did a great job at managing that. Terrific quality and service - we will definitely be calling them for future projects !

Alex and his team started our project very soon after we first spoke, which was nice because we didn’t have to wait. We needed a patio built in our small downtown backyard. I had an idea of the kind of interlock I wanted and Alex sourced some products for me to choose from. He made good suggestions for the way it should look and came up with a last-minute solution for a detail I had overlooked. They worked hard and were very patient with our street-parking issues. I highly recommend Captain Handy!

Alex and his team built a backyard stone patio and walkway for me. Alex was prompt in responding to my initial inquiry and his team was friendly, professional, and efficient. I am very happy with the quality of their work and I can honestly say they are the most reliable team of contractors I have worked with.

Captain handy did an amazing job at my driveway. My 2 cars weren’t fit at my previous driveway. Captain handy team solved this problem with extension of interlock and retaining wall to hold higher soil ground. Beautiful work!!!

Alex and his crew were prompt and did a quality job. They built wood deck and stone patio too quick, so we can enjoy the rest of the summer. I strongly recommend captain handy.

We got Alex to come for basement estimate, and he was on time and provided very clear quote. It took him to finish 900 sq ft basement in 4 weeks. All job was done very nice and clean. Alex is very responsive and provided an updates all the time, even we didn’t ask him. If you are looking for a quality job, just call captain handy.

Working with Alex and his team was an absolute pleasure. From the very first meeting, Alex listened well, was up front and very easy to deal with. He was flexible and accommodated my wishes kindly. The contractors that Alex provided delivered high quality workmanship. I want to give a shout out to Sandro and his team who took care of building the retaining walls, all the interlocking work and laying the coping tiles on the porch. All the stone work that he and his team did is really beautiful. Another call out goes to Paul for the deck lighting - it looks great. Ihab must be commended for the really efficient and professional irrigation and sodding. From installing meters and connecting to our existing system, he took the time to make sure everything worked perfectly. In addition, he was obliging and helpful. Alex ensured that the work was done in a timely manner, meeting promised deadlines and communicating with me throughout so that I always knew who was coming and when. The site was always left neatly stacked at the end of the work day. Alex was very present. He checked in on the site daily to ensure that all work was going according to plan - and it did. We are thrilled with the job and all the neighbours passing by remark on the excellent job. Thank you Alex and your Captain Handy team. I am very happy that I chose you for this project. I give you a 10 even though there are only 5 stars to give!

Captain handy did a great job at my backyard. They were quick and responsible. Now I have a beautiful stone patio with a deck where we can enjoy with my family. Alex was reasonable with a price and always responsive. Highly recommend.
