    Roof redo (peaked and flat.)

I didn't bother listening to any fly-by-nighters, because I hope to live in the house for a decade or so, and Bill's quote was the best. By the best I mean he had a better price for the actual work done (we needed a lot more than shingles slapped down), but just as importantly provided photos and understandable explanations, and displayed competence and professionalism. The actual work was done the same way, and I expect to be just as happy as the people who recommended Canadian Roofing Company to me.

    Roof inspection/repair

I called a number of companies with some questions about my roof - Jason came over less than 24 hours later to take a look at my roof. He is one of the most honest tradespeople I have ever dealt with, saving me thousands of dollars. Thanks Jason!

    New flat roof

We had suffered with springtime leaking on and off again for years and needed to get the roof fixed once and for all. We had a new roof put on about 6 years ago with another company (very cheaply) but learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. They basically just slapped yet another layer on top of the old and that's part of the reason why it failed again so quickly. Jason broke the news that we needed a completely new roof by spending well over an hour with us on his first visit explaining, in detail, what needed to be done, why, and how much it would cost. With the many old layers being removed, a structural problem with the chimney was uncovered but was dealt with quickly and didn't hold up the project at all. Jason answered every single phone call (that's worth hiring him right there!), made a number of visits to the house and definitely made the entire process a smooth one.

    Roof repair

I had called another company to check on the turbine on my roof when it started to make noise. I was told that I would have to repair my entire roof (shingles, plywood and all) for an estimated cost of 8000. I decided to get another expert opinion and came upon homestars.com. I called Jason- the owner, and he was friendly and very flexible in trying to arrange a time to come by and access the 'damage'. Jason was patient and provided me with his honest opinion when addressing my concerns and questions. After his thorough assessment on the condition of my roof he was very professional in telling me straight that my roof was in decent condition, that I didn't need to change the entire roof- Actually, I could easily solve the problem myself (re connecting the vent pipe in the attic from the bathroom exhaust out). He even provided me with step by step instructions on how to reconnect, where I can purchase the materials, and what materials to look out for!!! I would highly recommend this family run business to anyone who is looking for an honest company who will fix/repair their house properly and to code.

    Complete flat roof replacement

Jason, owner of Canadian roofing, met at the residence on 2 occasions to provide guidance on he process of replacing the flat roof. There are specific considerations for a flat roof job which he took the time to describe concisely. Although December weather was a challenge the crew was done in ~6 days and during the job, they provided a progress update every couple of days to give peace of mind. While typically a very messy exercise, the roofing team left the site in good order each day and cleaned up at the close of the job. I would not hesitate to recommend this company in future.

Complete Replacement of Roof (Flat and Shingle)

I had Canadian Roofing come to completely replace the roof on my house. I needed them to remove all the layers (4 of shingles, including a layer of cedar shake and 3 on the flat roof). Their quote was competitive but the other reason I chose them is that they weer fairly definitive in what they needed done. (They noted the cedar shake and multiple layer - the other quotes said if they found more I would be charged more). The company was very busy and I had to wait over a month for the job to get done. When the crew came to my house, they were extremely hardworking and removed all the layers and cleaned the debris in a day. They did find rot in my flat roof structure however and recommended that I need to get it reframed. The costs to do this seemed a bit high but it needed to be done. All the work was done by the second day except the soffits and eaves troughs that were removed to reframe the roof. I needed to call back a few times to have them complete the aluminum work. Overall I am very happy with the new roof. The crew worked quickly and was courteous. Bill and Dan were accomodating with our concerns about the additional costs regarding the fixing of the rot found.

Replace shingled and flat roof and boards, eavestrough, repair chimney

Count me as another satisfied customer of Canadian Roofing. Bill did the initial estimate and did a very thorough job of explaining everything on the quote, providing me with various options. He even had me come up on the roof so that he could go into more detail on the various aspects of what needed to be done, the only estimator who actually did so out of the 4 I was in touch with. The actual job itself was complicated by the fact I was also having the attic spray-foamed, so there was lots of coordination required on their end. Even after a huge problem with the original spray foam company due to a big boo-boo on my part, Jason and Bill scrambled to pull some strings and had another company come in on very short notice to remove the old insulation and spray down new foam, with only a day's work delay. Throughout all this they kept me informed of progress and costs. The job itself was well done and the crew did a great job of cleaning up the mess caused by removing 4 layers of old shingles and flat roof.

Remove all layers of old roof and install new roof

This company responded immediately to a problem with holes made by raccoons. They repaired the damage on the spot and at my request, provided digital pictures of the dismal state of my elderly parents' large roof area. There was no pressure to do the work this year. Taking advantage of the extended fall weather, we went ahead anyway and were delighted by the co-operative and timely manner in which the work was completed. On time, in the two days quoted, with an immaculate clean-up. It simply doesn't get any better.

    New roof, removal of chimney

Had our roof replaced. Work was delayed a bit because of weather, but when it was finished it was a great job. The workers were great, the cleanup was thorough and even the neighbours commented on how great they were.
