    High efficiencey gas furnace

I was very satisfied by the help of Tom Gianitsopules, a Home Comfort Advisor who works for Reliance, in Mississauga. He came to the house and took excellent measurements. He had the furnace put in immediately because he know that weekend would be cold; he sent out Derek, Mathew and Walter. They did an excellent job of installing the furnace within 5 hours; included in the installation were some new pipes, air cleaner and reliance thermostat. They also preceded with an excellent clean up. I would recommend them to anyone.

    Furnace Repair

I called Reliance to fix my furnace which wasn't working when I tried to turn it on for the first time this fall. The technician Adam Walker was sent to my home. He called before he arrived to tell me he was on his way. When he arrived he greeted me and put on boot covers to keep my floors clean, which I really appreciated. He found that the furnace motor was burnt out and had it replaced immediately. I was very pleased with the level of service I received from Reliance and will continue to use them as my service provider. Thank you, Ivan.

    Hot water tank replacement

The call centre was less than helpful when I called on Sunday to report the hot water tank was leaking (pouring) water all over the basement floor. The person was not concerned that the water could not be turned off and even submitted the work order as "low priority". Thankfully, the repair person, Tony, was very helpful and when he arrived Monday morning, he replaced the water tank and water valve, properly hooked up the water lines although they had been reversed before, and ensured we knew exactly how to handle the situation should a leak occur again. The call centre should be in Canada and the people should understand what we mean when we say it's a serious problem. Fortunately the tank was a rental with free replacement. We were very dissatisfied with the call centre help and very satisfied with the repair person. Therefore our overall rating is a 3. We used to pay a monthly fee for coverage for heating and cooling services, but cancelled that when, during the winter months, the call centre failed to recognize the seriousness of us having to be without heat in freezing weather from Friday evening to Monday, even after I informed them I had been diagnosed that day with pneumonia. This had been the 2nd such incident and we decided enough is enough. We were forced to call in an outside company on both occasions, and decided there was no point in paying for service coverage we were not receiving.

    Winterize Air Conditioner

Once again Reliance outdid themselves in customer service! Service person left phone message notifying us of his impending arrival & 15 minutes later was in our driveway! He checked the AC, the furnace connection and was on his way in less tun 20 minutes. He inquired about our furnace service check but since I hadn't yet scheduled it (which I will do now) he said a reliance service man would return to do that. I am sorry that I had not done so, thus saving your service staff an extra call. Doug Teeter

    Replace Leaking Water Heater

Within an hour of placing a call to Reliance a service technician was at the door. He quickly assessed the situation, told me my options and then focused on doing the job of replacing the unit in as effective and efficient manner as possible. He was polite and professional and left the premise without any mess. I was very pleased with the service. Please note that the review was positive relative to the service provided by the technician only. However I am not pleased with the Home Comfort program as I now find it just as misleading as the competitive door to door sales people. I pay a monthly fee for the Home Comfort plan under the understanding that the water heater I rent would be replaced at no charge if problems did occur. Yet when the technician is on sight to do the work, he advises me that I need a vent for the new water heater that will cost me $500.00 to install. The old water heater that has been in place for over 20 years never needed a vent. Why is this not covered under the plan. More importantly why is this information not provided in your material about the benefits of Home Comfort. Misleading, is it not? And equally disappointing on the Home Comfort plan that acts as an insurance policy and implies no cost.....when in fact it is costly. Time to reconsider plans and let people know that Reliance Home Comfort is not all it is made out to be.

    Waterless Tank and Furnace

My water heater started to leak I didn't know what to do and as my husband was in the hospital I called Reliance as we had always dealt with them. Norm Wong came and we discussed what I wanted to do and that I wanted to go with a tankless water heater and also a new and more efficient furnace. The young men who came to install the equipment were prompt and very polite and cleaned up after themselves. Norm was most helpful and came by on the day of installation as well as a few weeks later when I had some questions. I am very pleased with Reliance and Norm as their representative. Beryl

    furnace inspection

Derek (employe # 2393) was quite punctual, arriving right in the specified timeframe. He was quite knowledgeable and explained what he was doing during our furnace inspection. He helped us understand our current protection plan and what is covered. He recommended services that would benefit us and nothing we did not require. He answered any questions I had regarding the need for recommended services and suggested timelines

    Furnace Maintenance

We always ask for Jon Cefai from Canadian Air systems to carry out the maintenance at our premises. He has been taking care of our service for the past almost 3-4 years and we are very satisfied with his prompt and excellent service. We would want only John Cefai to attend our service calls for the Air Conditioner as well as Furnace

    Fixed rattling of Furnace

John Saliba from Reliance was able to fix the rattling in my furnace that was due to a loose shelf that was supporting the AC coil. It was professional, polite and answered all my questions. Couldn't have asked for more. It's been over a month and it is still fixed. I am very pleased.... it did make the home comfort plan worth it.
