    Suspected Leaking Water Heater

    Was cleaning the furnace filters and noticed some moisture that looked like it was coming from the water heater. Cleaned all around and underneath the water heater, but could not see an apparent source for the moisture. Called Reliance and they sent a technician first thing the next morning. It took the tech less than a minute to determine there was a pin hole leak coming near one of the feet of the heater. He then took the time to explain to me the replacement procedure and then did the job. Personable, professional, skilled and tidy are the words I would use to describe John the technician. Reliable and sense of urgency are the words for Reliance. It is why I rent my furnace, AC and water heater. When something goes wrong you can rely on them to get the job done right.     Amazing Customer Service - Mistake Admitted & Money Refunded!!

    I rent my water heater from Reliance. It stopped working. The technician who looked at it told me I needed to replace my mixing valve. The mixing valve is part of my home's plumbing and not part of water heater and he told me it had to be fixed before Reliance could fix the heater. I asked him if someone from Reliance could replace the valve with the understanding that this service wasn't covered by my contract and I would pay for it myself. He told me that they didn't do that. I'd need to get a plumber on my own and then call them back once it was fixed. So I did. When the second technician came (after a plumber had replaced the mixing valve) he tried to sell me on various protection plans for my pipes, vents, etc. I explained that it wasn't a good time to ask me to spend more money as I just spent a good deal of money on a plumber. He then asked me why I didn't get the mixing valve fixed by a Reliance plumber. He told me how much they charge for this service which was approximately $300 less than my plumber charged. I emailed customer service to suggest that their technicians should be informed about all of the services Reliance offers its customers. I told them that I had asked the 1st tech if Reliance could repair my valve and his response. I also told them what the 2nd tech had told me about the price Reliance would have charged me for the mixing valve. I thought it would be useful for them to know what happened for training purposes and I didn't want anyone else to spend money unneccessarily in the future but I didn't ask for any money for myself. To my surprise, I received an email asking me to submit my plumber's invoice as the possiblility existed that Reliance might be able to assist me financially. I was very surprised but did send them the invoice. They then responded that they were crediting my bank account with $300. I can't imagine any of the other companies who have provided services to my home in the past responding in the same way even if they had cost me money because I was given incorrect information. Can you imaging another company in this category voluntarily doing this? I've told everone what Reliance did and further told them that if they need any of the products or services Reliance offers and it comes down to a choice of companies offering similar prices they should go with Reliance. I know that I will.

    Furnace and Tankless Water Heater installation

    Contacted Reliance to inspect our defective furnace and water heater. Based on their recommendation, decided to proceed with replacement and installation of both appliances. Their Advisor, Ahmad, was thorough, knowledgeable and professional in recommending the appropriate models. Installation was done quickly and efficiently. I am pleased with their service and would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends. Luis

    Excellent, courteous service!

    We were very pleased with the excellent service provided by your technician Reed. He was very pleasant and professional. On the other hand, the person at the call center was not very helpful.

    Water heater inspection and service

    Person doing the work phoned prior to arrival and was on time and very courteous. Inspection was done and he explained in detail what he had done. He asked if we had any questions at all, which we didn't. We were very happy with the service.

    Water tank service

    The technician was very thorough, and answered all our questions. Great service! He also had protective covers for his safety to ensure minimal out side debris to be brought in the house.

    Hot Water Tank

    Service was prompt and the technician was able to identify the issue right away, he did not have the part but managed to get it and installed in 30 mins. Great service

    12 point inspection

    Technician showed up on time and was very friendly and helpful with offering suggestions and answering any questions we had. I was very happy with the service they provided and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

    Save your money - Company only cares about your money

    Since I have bought my home in April 2018, reliance has made various administrative errors, rude customer service and being non reliant in keeping maintenance for furnace (no show). For starters, the previous owner had signed an agreement that I undertook as the cost to buy out was too much. When I called I was non existent because they did not update files from lawyer when transferred from previous owner to me and refused to help me because the name was not the previous owners. I had to escalate to revise and get them to acknowledge that yes there is a contract (even though they were taking money out of my enbridge). Last year I booked for maintenance and it took them a week to find me in their system because they spelt the street name wrong and refused to book a maintenance until they found the so called missing file. This year, I booked a maintenance, called the service as no one showed up. The customer care stated at first that no appointment was booked even though I did a few weeks back. Then she found it and stated someone showed and no one answered which was impossible as someone was there at all times. The technician went to wrong address and I got penalized and had to rebook further. When I had a discussion with customer resolutions he mentioned that it could be rebooked without notice as I am not priority even though they created a major inconvenience. I have never seen such horrible service for a furnace in my life. They do not care about making your life easy but only care to take your money without respecting the agreement - maintenance, putting customers first.  Reliance should look to some of these other companies for standards on respecting clients and providing a service that excels. It is unfortunate that the previous owner signed a 10 year contract till 2025 and the buy out is so expensive. My lesson has been learned and will tell everyone to steer clear of this company. Once my contract is up, I will go to a more reliable, nice (not disrespectful, condescending and better data entry) company. I have paid my Bill's in good faith that you would provide good service. It is very unfortunate it has come to this.

    Service

    Reliance is one phone call away from me. Every call is answered by operators 24/7. And, most important, the technicians are in my place next day. They really stand behind their products and works. And, special Thanks to technician Neil.
