Review left on 12 Feb 2018Rating: 4 out of 5Had a Reliance water heater for 8 years
I signed a contract with Reliance, through a 3rd party HVAC company. I had just bought a house, which had a 12 year old Direct Energy water heater. My insurance doesn't allow anything older than 10 years. Over the 8 years with Reliance, I found them a lot easier to deal with than Direct Energy had been. That being said, there were still the occasional mix-ups in billing, which went against my contract. Sometimes they were straightened out with one phone call, sometimes up to 3 calls. On average, each issue required 2 phone calls. The water tank was serviced 3 times in 8 years, including thermocouple replacement, and the gas valve. If I called in the morning, the technician arrived same day. Evening calls were resolved next day. I've since upgraded to a tankless. I dropped the old tank, back to Reliance. My contract, plus all the people I talked to, plus the paper I got upon returning the tank, did not talk about any fee for returning the tank. They did tell me of a charge, if they picked up the tank. Which is why I returned it personally. Now they charged me a $40 plus tax "return fee". The first time I called, I was told that they have no access to help me, and they would transfer me to a manager. Instead, I got disconnected. I'm calling back a second time. I'm on hold, waiting to talk to someone. I figured I'll use this time on hold. I've been to the bathroom, taken a shower, and wrote this review. Still on hold. Reliance charged me $40.Answer from pro:
Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear about this. The $40.00 would be for the account closure fee. Please email me and I can look into this further. My email address is pkirby@reliancecomfort.com Thank you, Penny

I am so happy I rent from Reliance. we had no hot water on Thursday, and Friday morning, the repairman Brent G. 1414, had it up and running in no time at all. at first, he thought I needed new valve, but he was able to repair a broken fus wire A. It didnt cost a penny. Brent was personable, polite and certainly knew what he was doing. He kept me informed at all times, while he checked was the problem was. The cost would have been over $750, but it did not cost a thing. Thank you Reliance for great service.Answer from pro:

Review left on 10 Feb 2018Rating: 0 out of 5Reliance Home Comfort - Furnance Installation
I had an emergency at my home and since my service provider was Sears (bankrupt at the time of emergency in December), I decided to call Reliance, who were already maintaining my water heater. The sales person who came arranged for an installation quickly, given that we did not have heat, and was an emergency. There is such a contrast between their sales operations and the maintenance operations. The sales person, Momo had to replace the thermostat, which was supposed to be temporary with another one that was equivalent to the one that I had before. The installation was done in December and my calls to follow up were ignored. Finally, I got a date arranged and waited on a Saturday from 1 PM to 5 PM with no one coming. When I called the Reliance Home Comfort number, they had no record of any such schedule. When I followed up for another schedule, I was told that I am not entitled to that thermostat unless I pay for it - which was exactly the opposite of what I had been told before. And this after a botched schedule where no money requirements were made known. I feel that a company that tolerates such poor service is not for me, however good they are in their technical work and my next furnace will NOT be with Reliance.Answer from pro:
Hi Krishna, I'm so sorry to hear about this experience and would be happy to follow up on this for you. Please email me pkirby@reliancecomfort.com and I can assist. Thank you, Penny
