    New furnace installation

    Furnace failure noticed on Fri .January the 29th. Service call revealed a cracked heat exchanger, large amounts of carbon monoxide being emitted. after some research and consultation, two companies giving presentations on Mon the 1st of Feb we decided to have Reliance install a new furnace for us. We were very impressed with the salesman and his explanation of the product. Thrilled that arrangements were made to have the furnace installed on Tues the 2nd. The installers were very friendly and helpful. They did the installation quickly and left no mess, being careful to not cause any damage . We would highly recommend Reliance to others.

    Furnace / heat

    Great service! Fast, efficient and informative. Our technician Mario from reliance was fantastic. Because we have purchased the protection plan, we didn't have to pay for the service and the replacement of the parts, which would cost us over 1000 today.

    Very Frustrating - constantly failing to meet the expectation they set

    When my furnace died during the January thaw I took it as good of a good of a sign as you can get. I took the time to get three quotes. Reliance was 30% more than the cheapest quote, and 15% higher than the guy I didn't like but promised an install 1 day earlier then the other two so I selected them. What a mistake. Install was supposed to start at 9am, Took the day off so I could let them in and get this done. Got a call at 10am saying the furnace wasn't in stock and install wouldn't happen until next day (once the weather turned cold again.) After being very upset, the furnace magically (i.e. they drove it to me from Kingston) arrived at my door - but now they had nobody who could install it that day. Next day, (another day off,) get a call at 9am saying techs would be late (appointment was supposed to be for 8am) as they had to pick up a Thermostat (they screwed up and didn't bring the Nest they had promised.) I said don't worry about it, ship it to me the Nest, anyone can install one - they still waiting to get the Nest - honestly, it only added 30 minutes to their trip, but they didn't tell me that until after they arrived and left me wondering if they were even going to show up... Installers were not certified electricians, even though they were adding circuits to the breaker panel. Install was done after 14 hours. Due to all the issues, Reliance finally agreed to offer me free rental for a period - it got it in writing as I didn't trust anything they said at this point. But I felt they had compensated me appropriately for the issues and my family was warm again so I took a breath and wrote off the week. Then 15 days later I just got my first bill (no credit.) I'm glad others have a good experience with them, all jobs can't go like mine with a 9 star rating, but I can't recommend them and would never use them again - they were willing to tell me NYTHING they need to so they can get the deal, then followed through on none of it as promised, and only after threatening to cancel everything. Sorry - I told myself I would keep this brief and wouldn't write a wall of words, but it looks like I did anyway. Very upsetting experience.

    hot water tank repair

    Craig Austin, showed up on a very wet winter Sunday to repair my hot water tank. Very impressed!!! Very polite, patient, empathetic, and fixed my tank, my leak, my mess and was simply A+++ definitely one of the most competent service oriented people I have come across in years. So glad Reliance bought out National. Restored my faith! I can't thank you enough Craig, ps. I am not in Sault Ste. Marie???

    Service Call

    I have the Home Comfort Ins Plan and my furnace quit working on New years day called and an appt was made for next day between 8 and 1 pm.. Service rep showed up at 8.30 am. Upon arrival put on shoe protectors and was very quick to diognose and repair my furnace. Adam Walker was his name I was very impressed with his pofessionalism and demeanor.. without my Ins plan this call would have cost me $208.00 ....

    Hot water heater

    My hot water heater was giving me warm water at best. I called in and got an appointment for the very next day. The technician was very polite, professional and extremely effiecient. I've only been a customer for 1 month, but so far, so good. The technician, Mike N. Went above and beyond, checked the operation of the whole system and gave me great advice!

    furnace service, repair

    I returned home after working an evening shift on Jan 31st..upon entering the home it felt cooler than normal. I keep my thermostat programmed to 24.5 degrees after 10pm. I walked over to stat and it registered the internal temp at 22 while it showed the programed temp of 24.5. I walked over to one of the floor register and the air was cool... I settled in checking frequently to see if it was producing any heat...after 15 minutes I knew something was wrong, sure enough the internal temp was non 21.5....it continued to drop...it reached 19 by the time I was ready to go to bed. I know I could call reliance 24hrs but I decided to wait till morning..hoping it would chip in. my husband was asleep and I didn't want to wake him. called Reliance at 530am and was able to get an apt between 10am and 2pm. luckily I was working from home ...however as the temp fluctuated between 18.5 and 20 degrees I was not so happy and I was literally freezing. I reached out to a HVAC tech I know in NY and he walked me through a few things. I took some pics and video and sent to him. he told me the 3 blinking red lights meant something and that I should wait for the tech to arrive. he told me what the code likely meant. the technician arrived and confirmed same with out me even telling him what my friend had said. he ran a few test and found the culprit to be a defective pressure switch.. he ordered and picked up the part and changed it out for me. Gabriel F. was very professional, very knowledgeable and very pleasant. What surprised me is when he said there was no charge as it was covered under the $14.99 monthly plan. I encourage everyone to get this plan...as 3 weeks prior a paid an individual $150 the first time the furnace malfunction. I went with him cause it was very cold and Reliance was backed up with appointments until the next evening, This person came out at midnight...that individual told me the sensor was dirty and changed a filter and charged me $150, no receipt issued. Folks stick with a reputable Service Provider.

    Hot water tank repair by Darren, # 2957. Excellent service.

    My hot water tank was leaking. The serviceman, Darren, # 2957, appeared as agreed, on time. It took him a few minutes to diagnose and 15 minutes to repair (replace valve). It was done quickly, efficiently and reliably. Good job, Darren!

    New Furnace and A/C

    Noticed my furnace had stopped working around 2:40pm. Called Reliance and Ken was over to look at it before 5pm. He was able to figure out the problem in a matter of minutes and determined we needed a new furnace as ours was faulty. Said he would send over a sales guy shortly to go over our options. Jason showed up within the hour and did an awesome job explaining everything and getting all the paperwork done. He sent a crew over for early the next morning to begin the install and followed up with me in the evening to make sure everything went well. Thanks so much for fixing our issue promptly and giving great customer service!

    Furnace Repair

    Neil (8583) was the repair tech that came out and replaced my vent motor assembly on my furnace. Neil did the work in a timely, professional manner. I'm very satisfied with the work performed. Neil is an asset to your company.
